  • Is it me or does that look lyk padme amidalla

  • That was awesome but how come ratings aren't allowed for this video I was gonna give it a thumbs up

  • I have just bought a wacom tablet but it is hard to draw on it, how long did it took you to get this good I mean was it also hard for you in the very begining?

  • What brush are you using?

  • @EpicHawk If you watch most of my videos, you will find out that round default brushes is not to be underestimated. ;-)

  • It would be nice to make a video EXPLAINING how you do that.

  • @dezard36 This one is really old 2007, you can go watch more recent vids on my channel. They will explain a lot more. peace!

  • @idrawgirls Thank you :)

  • @dezard36 No problem.

  • I find it so hard to get the skin tone right :/ This is really good though. I've seen more and more of your stuff come up over time.

  • @Axellent100 It takes time, I will send you some tips. Most of my video on portraits painting talk about that.

  • @idrawgirls could u do the same for me as well? thank you :)

  • @JayDEchols sure

  • it's hard to learn, but amazing to see! You're women always turn out so lovely!

  • @MucisiansArmy thx,

  • I truly love youre work. i've been drawing for six years now and I hope that one day i'll be as good as you, just a small question, what programm did you use to record your screen.

  • @IamAboe That is a top secret. Camtasia.

  • @IamAboe u should use Debut its really good!

  • awesome, so im not the only one that just adds color, i found overlay to be to frustrating because i can never get the rite shading i want from just black and white, i need to add the color

  • @RedStreak40 Take slow and easy step. If you really think about it...you have to start with just one color even in oil paint to get the foundation of simple value. Don't rush.

  • I was thinking she looks like Natalie Portman before reading the comments, and sure enough I'm not the only one... Awesome job.

  • Natalie Portman and Winona Ryder

  • all i have to say is that this is outstandingly amazing!!!

its like your drawing is a picture taken straight from a camera .

  • NATALIE PORTMAN? @@

  • What's the name of the soundtrack???????????

  • sigh, the more i see your artworks, the more depressed i am, you r just too awesome and no matter how much i watch your video, i can never make anything like yours.

n especially that megan fox painting, that is the best ever. i want to be like you, n i had trained hard. but i realize no matter how hard i train, its not enough, i need guidance from the pros.

please look at my artwork if you have the time, and if possible, please provide some tips so that i be as good as you. thnx :P

  • I love your style of drawing. I build up pastel portraits in much the same way as you but they are so damn messy to use. Looking forward to getting into drawing on the ipad and your videos are inspiring me plenty.

  • yea, just like her!

  • looks like natalie portman

  • @EldonEvangelista Jejeje, FOR SURE SHE IS!!!! I saw a very similar picture on Internet by typing her name!!!

  • whats the name of the intro song!?!?

  • I work with the guy that did the soundtrack, Awesome Painting skills, Sick tunes

  • Cool!!!

Is he using a drawing tablet for this? I want to try doing this also but I don't think it would be easy using a typical optical mouse. Possible but hard right?

  • @naholdup

yeah i do it sometimes XD

  • were can i learn nmore about the brushes settings ? what type use for what case, thank you

  • amazing

  • Great paintings. You're really talented! If you haven't -- check out MyPaint. Great program for painting. Especially for very accessible shortcut keys. It makes painting so much faster, and you concentrate on what you want to paint instead of finding that perfect brush, or setting. Also a program called Alchemy. Both free, and need a tablet for optimal use.

Let me know what you think.

    Cheers!

  • May I know how long the normal time you drew this?

  • like youre style totally

  • Dude natalie portman is big time hotness

  • What kind of brushes did you use to draw this if I may ask?

  • Natalie portman turns me on big time, but ONLY if she has clothes on lol... Sound weird? She has an incredible face and her slim figure looks great in clothes, but when she is naked she is just not attractive at all, too skinny to be attractive naked.

  • @Bidon45

    Have you seen "Closer"?

  • natalie portman???

  • Does anyone know the first song being played before it's mixed?

  • nice try.. but still need more variations , tones and colors.

hang on you will get there oneday.

  • @sweetiekayla You're so funny

  • Thx for teaching·

  • She wants me, look, how she looks!!!!!!! O_o

  • Man! You're my guru :)

  • Name of Song pls =)

  • I really like this soundtrack!

I noticed some other people were wondering what it was too.

It took me a while but the song was originally by Yann Tiersen called "Les Jours Tristes", an OST from Amelie. According to the info on the side, it's a remix done by DJ Muzzle.

Now I just have to see if there's an MP3 of this floating around out there somewhere. :>

  • @00imweerd00 did you find it? I'm crazy for ..

  • why did you disable the ratings? i would like to rate it 5/5. totally awesome!! i wish i could do that and impress my friends :D i subscribed btw

  • Woah, you make it look so easy.... my graphik tablet is the least, you'd want to have :D You're really talented!

  • I agree. I would have at least added some annotations.

  • thanks a ton for the Ratatouille song! i'm sick of every other art instruction video blasting some faggy metal song, or whiny EMO shit tune or whatever...

yeah thanks, i learned alot without being incredibly annoyed for once.

    brilliant!!!!

can u do the same thing but with a pencil and paper????

  • why not?

  • If they can do it on the computer, they can do it on paper. Whoever drew this just used an electronic tablet and pen.

  • Lovely music!

    Beautiful drawing! :-)

  • wow

  • Fantastic drawing/painting skills. Amazing. I also love the song - I know it's a remix of La Noyee from Amelie, but what is the song called? I'm having a lot of trouble finding it, I guess cuz DJ Muzzle is not very well known. Any info is helpful! Thanks!

like the song too - what's the name of the the song you used?

  • its a remix (if you´re still interested ^^) of a song from the movie "amelie de montmartre". But thats as much as i know of.

  • oh wait, i just realized that was done by the computer :P

Cnet: they are free promo download.

  • This was amazing! You've inspired me to draw again. :] Thanks!m k,

  • oooh that was amazing, culd u do angelina jolie? that was great, how long did that one take?

  • Thanks, I'll see what I can do...

How long...? It was an hour and half, I thought I wrote it on the "About the Video."

  • Excellent, inspirers me to get back to drawing.

  • Omg you are amasing... I've never seen anyone drawing that good! Great stuff:D!!!

  • Thanks for the kind words. I assure you that THERE are some people I know and know of can draw and paint way better than I am. They humble me every time I saw their stuff...but they are also the reason for me to be a better artist and inspiration.

  • Thanks for the Natalie Portman post.

In regards to life drawing though, I come from a very conservative country, so life drawing with nude models is next to nil. Any alternatives to study figure to draw, while I earn some money to go to a nearby country just for that?

  • That's really tough man, I hear ya. How'bout art university session and stuff?

If not, then I guess you will have to practice a lot from different ref or internet...or manakin. Man, or drawing learn from Brigeman and Loomis (free download Loomis's book link from my blog)

  • Yeah, about Bridgman, which of his books you feel should I start with, or should I just get his Complete Guide to Drawing From Life?

I doubt they might have live models at the local universities here. Guess I might stick to the 'Nets, while I earn some money to go to neighbouring countries with more relaxed laws.

  • Another thing, can I make a special request?

How about tutorials on drawing "bug-eyed" actors like Steve Buscemi, Peter Lorre, & Marty Feldman? Wish to see how to draw eyes like that, and how they interact with the face.

  • I will. :)

  • I like the music you have in your videos.

  • You can find them on myspace: DJ Muzzle

  • thanks for the work you put into this and that site.

  • Your welcome :) and thanks for your kind words.

  • Just found your instructional videos - great stuff to see you work. It would be helpful for you to put the actual elapsed time to do one of your works down too.

Watching your subtle shading and highlight color is really helping my drawings.

    Thanks!

  • Thanks elapsed time, um...lemme see what I can do, but do you really need that on a tutorial though? I do have slower version and real time version on idrawgirls blog.

    Glad I could help.

Two cents can go a long way.

    :)

  • It isn't really needed for a tutorial - it is just another data point for judging where I am as an artist. It isn't something you ever see for finished pictures. Of course every artist is going to vary but if you do a tutorial of a piece of work and it is even in the range of 40 minuts or 2 hours or 2 days that just sets the scope of what I am looking at.

  • I'll see what I can do. :)

  • How the hell don't you have more people subscribed to you?! I'm trying to learn CS3 and it's like the most ugliest crap I've ever done. awesome work.

  • Thanks. :) Yeah I do not see the big different between CS2 and CS3 when I paint. I use CS3 at work but at home I still prefer CS2.

    Thanks again Peace!

  • awesome video

  • Thanks man!!!
