a fellow lefty- tell me friend, where's the cheapest ammo for the 45-120 or maybe the 50-110? (I assumed designed for hunting the rare American elephant)
@drewnickel : well, it's 45-120 mat, loaded with 100grains of Swiss Black powder N°3 .. It has much recoil and kicks far.. nothing you can do about. I could have leaned forward in a modern way of shooting, but thats not the shooting style of that era.
It's a Hege Sharps, built with Italian parts. (probably chiappa) - Not the best stuff out there, but the one I could afford at that moment ! Get the Pedersoli, or even, if you can, the Shiloh Sharps Quigley in 45-110 !

@mattybock : well, not really. I reload them. Would be far too expensive to buy manufactured ammo !

Sweet rifle, sweet music, but Quigley's Sharps was a .45-70.

3 minutes ago I shoot a Pedersoli Boss .45-120
My Load is a 535grn lead Bullet with 130grn Swiss Nr4.
700yrd, 20"x20" target no problem. The recoil ist nothing compared to a 300WM

hm i prefer righthand shooting lol but 5/5
gimme that sharps lol

you need to put the rifle firmly into your shoulder, the recoil won't effect your point of aim as much.
