@FallopianY0UTUBE I almost completely agreed, but then I remembered that Canada is where Nickelback hail from...it may take a hundred years to remove that stain from Canada's musical legacy...
@radiocoldheadplay Keep in mind that they were decent until they started to conform. Silver Side Up was actually fairly decent and original, but after that, it just started to go down.
@directorc1 hey don't say that, people like different genres of music. as long as it has meaning and real effort was put into it there is no such thing as bad music.
Canada has some great bands for sure ,crystal castles, the great lake swimmers and timber timbre are a few other good ones, but you cant beat the states. Vampire weekend, yeasayer, grizzly bear, akron/family, the black keys, fleet foxes, cloud cult, edward sharpe &the magnetic zeros, bon iver, oberhofer, jeffrey lewis, spoon, old crow medicine show, coconut records, and the list goes on and on.
Neil Young, Rush, Arcade Fire, Tragically Hip, Deadmau5 (debatable), The Guess Who
Other honorable mentions:
Caribou, Arcade Fire, Metric, Sloan, Black Mountain, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, MSTRKRFT, Chilliwack, Tegan and Sara, The Russian Futurists, Strapping Young Lad, K-OS, Nomeansno... forgetting several, but there you have it!
@y488 :) good job on your list, thought I would add a few more worth mentioning: Feist (also a solo artist for those who don't realize) Alexis on Fire, City & Colour, Sam Roberts, Martha Wainwright, The New Pornographers, The Be Good Tanyas, Patrick Watson, Chromeo, Said The Whale, Stars, Tokyo Police Club, Winter Gloves, Wintersleep, & You Say Party. There are too many cool cats in Canada to list them all.
@Chameleonardodavinci My pleasure! To Build A Home is one of my all time favorite tunes by Patrick Watson singing with Cinematic orchestra. Metric is an amazing Canadian band as is Arcade Fire, City & Colour & Sam Roberts. I love every band mentioned, but these ones stand out.
@midblake owen pallet, the new pornographers, wintersleep, our lady peace, holy fuck, stars, patrick watson, hey ocean, hey rosetta, craig cardiff....... are some of my favourite canadian artists
Oh man this song really brings me back to good ol Middle School...they were the shiz back then, still good till now! Arcade Fire (Who are pretty awesome) borrowed abit of their style I reckon!
@JustDanAK RUSH is Canada's best music export. Then these guys. And then, there are so many others..... Like Nelly Furtado. She's a fucking hOt CANADiAn....This song rocks.
@JustDanAK whow Yeah toronto totally trumps the Brooklyn, Nashville, LA and Seattle music scenes. but your right those canucks are starting to bring some heat.
@racethis2007 To bad Rush is not what most people consider good music hahahahaha. First Canadian band I really got into was probly Death From Above but even that was a while ago.

this song sounds an awful lot like "All Of This Is True" by Do Make Say Think. I feel like they used the exact same guitar, amp, and a lot of the same chords even.
