Agreed. The fact the REAL BEat Farmers will NEVER AGAIN play live is unsettling.  This was an amazing band.

I can think of a LOT of other bands that I could do without seeing....EVER. But the Beat Farmers? Wow....they're gone....and that's surely a damn shame.

Anyone who never saw them, missed a REAL American R&R band.

We all wish they were. Buddy Blue (lead vocals on this tune) and Country Dick Montana (drums) have passed away.

Jerry Raney (other guitar and vocals in the red plaid shirt) and Rolle (bass) might still be playing with Joey Harris (he took Buddy's place back in the 80s).

I saw them twice in the late 80's. These guys had talent, they could really rock. It was also a fun time during the shows when Country Dick would come out in the audience, sing a few songs, and give everyone a beer shower.

Yeah, it's a great version. The Cowboy Junkies did a beautiful acoustic cover of it too on a tribute album to Neil - I think it's called, "Borrowed Tunes". Lots of good covers on it.

Tales of The New West, Van Go, and The Pursuit of Happiness, are all classics. They definately need to be remastered and re-released on CD. If anyone knows where I can get a copy of those on CD under $20 each let me know.
