A good example to settle the two camps arging on this post: A phrase often mispoke: "money is the root of all evil" - the phrase is incomplete and money, of course, is not evil. The actual phrase is: "the love of money is the root of all evil"...which IS true. Now think of this car - is it just money...or the love of money. indeed, it is the latter (otherwise he would have a normal expensive car.)
its got black plastic and painted tacky asian gold all over it, its far from pure, this looks like it should have a kitty hand sticking out of it waving side to side
I thought about the same thing. Its probably a little heavier than most ferraris, but I bet its a fairly thin gold plating, not a big slap the full thickness each component that its on. It also has liberal amounts of carbon fiber, which is an extremely light building material. I dont know how much carbon fiber most ferraris have, as I'm not exactly a ferrari connosiuer (sp), but I bet most have very little and then only for detail accents. It looks like gold-plated carbon fiber.
To all the haters -> Saudi Arabia citizens have a better quality of life then most citizens in the world. They have to pay either no taxes negligible taxes (2.5% of profits). If it weren't for ban on alcohol and pork I would have preferred to live in Saudi Arabia then America any day. :)
And its gold paint anyway not solid gold... which to a millionaire/billionaire is just chump change.
The 599 chassis and most of the body is an aluminum unibody. However, Ferrari will paint 599 any color you want. I highly doubt that the paint is gold, or any other part of the car for that matter, because the excess weight would totally skew the handling characteristics of the car, and Ferrari would never let one out of the factory that didn't meet performance specs.

fuck these guys. This is exactly the reason why I welcome total economic collapse. Although this prick will be fine - I still like to picture him moving into a cardboard box and eating out of a dumpster.
Kinda gave it away there buddy. If some ass wants to buy a gold Ferrari, what the hell does it matter? The reaction proves that the Schiff movement is already morphing into an anti-wealth, "get the rich guys" crusade.
Funny thing is that Schiff himself lives in a MANSION in a posh section of CT, belongs to country clubs that turn away his minions & has a net worth of over $20M made the old fashioned way - selling stocks for commission. Wake up man.
and you should go back to sleep, man. I understand what you are driving at - wealth is one thing - gold ferraris, gold wastebaskets, gold toilets, and$1000 designer tshirts are another. Ultimately, your argument is empty.
Good stuff on your channel - I'm sure in many ways we are on the same page. I don't have a problem with wealth - I have a problem with the ridiculous use of that wealth and the need to rub everyone else's nose in it. Not with the state of the world today and massive transfers of wealth to the top 1%. It seems with capitalism, they wanted most of the money. In globalization, they seem to want ALL of the money.
They see it as nose rubbing. What it does for me is bring me peace in knowing I am stable and secure from within. That I am filled with the right stuff. They find their pleasure and contentment in things of this world. I look at them, as they are thinking I envy what they have, but I am only thinking of what they could had done for others and how insecure they must be. Sad at best.
Thanks for the page reference & I suspect we would not totally disagree. What I meant by the "Schiff movement" should be obvious: he has awakened many to the way our monetary policy works - a good thing. A consequence of this has been a virtual deification of the man by those who were introduced to economics through "Peter was Schiff was Right." I just wanted to point out that Schiff is also an "insider" compared to the average Joe who thinks he's some everyman. I like Schiff w/reservations.
I concur wholeheartedly!!! (...with caveats. )Schiff is an insider by Joe standards but methinks not compared to Goldman Sachs Huddle Club and such - that being my point. And deification seems inevitable every time particularly when confronted with voices in the wilderness (in an ocean of sheeple and corporate shills.) It seems every good idea and cultural movement starts with purity/integrity and then gets mutated by too much inclusion - only to get watered down into a parody of itself.
And I'm not sure what you mean by either a "Schiff movement" (a non-existent "movement") or any evidence that this non-existent movement has "morphed into an anti-wealth crusade". I have watched a lot of him for the last couple of years and see absolutely nothing that would support your cynical suggestion.I understand your concept - if you have evidence of your view I would be all ears.
I'm not exactly sure how Schiff could be considered an anti-wealth, "get the rich guys" advocate - pretty sure he runs a company that helps other people create wealth and get rich. And it seems like he makes his money honestly compared to the market insider/gamers.
If there is total economic collapse though, this guy will probably end up like the royalty of France. Just look at how angry the commenters are here -- we are starting to see immense hatred towards the rich. Just wait, heads will roll eventually.
seems fair - the rich hate everyone below them.Kissinger refers to regular people as "useless eaters." Class warfare has been going on for eons - nothing has changed now (just because "they" have allowed a middle class for a few hundred years)
So assuming a person justly acquired his wealth and spent it on a car like this, would you still hate him.
Do we have an obligation to give to the poor that which we don't need? If so, should we take from people using force?
Where do you draw the line? Each according to his need? In that case, we need to move you into a tiny apartment, give you rations, and take the rest of your earnings, because some poor guy needs gas money. Deal?
their wedding gift, or one of their gifts. They probably were given a mansion as well. I started thinking about the hundreds of millions of Indians who cling to life everyday just to find a scrap of food. Something has gone wrong. Something has gone VERY Wrong with Capitalism. I'm not calling for Socialism, but all I know is this system we are all living under is rigged, and it is not right. Contrary to what people think, it IS a ZERO-SUM Game, and MILLIONS of people are being thrown to the curb
Not sure why people are giving you the thumbs down. Your sentiments are what any normal human should feel.I suppose because it isn't the capitalist system that is wrong - it's the fact that the whole system is rigged.Too many cretins in America think the whole Gordon Gecko "greed is good" mantra was "badass." And people love all sorts of pointless crap (like this car)
selfishness is a virtue. It really is quite true if you read some of the underpinnings and better explanations of capitalism and individualism.
I believe it's a tradition and symbol of status for wealthy Arabs to collect expensive foreign cars. Remember, most of these people had never seen a car throughout the 20th century. There's nothing wrong with treating yourself with wealth you justly accumulated the same way you last bought some token thing for your enjoyment.
One can argue that selfishness is a virtue - whether people choose to face it or not, everyone in actuality is selfish (by definition.) But I think the issue here isn't so much about selfishness - it's about greed and gluttony.
a good example: people think the phrase is "money is the root of all evil" - the phrase is wrong (and money in itself is not evil.)The actual phrase is: "the love of money is the root of all evil' - this, of course is true and very applicable to the basic argument here.
The older I get, and more I learn, the less I think Capitalism is a just and proper system for a country. As Overstock CEO Patrick Burn said..."There are Grandmothers in the mid-west eating catfood so that 28 year-old wallstreeters can drive their porches and ferraris." Something has gone seriously wrong with Capitalism. This is NOT what it was supposed to be. I was at the Ritz-Carlton yesterday just checking it out, and there was an Indian wedding, and the young couple were given a ferrari as
>> Capitalism is a just and proper system for a country.
Capitalism is not a system. Communism is a system. Capitalism is the absense of a system
>> Grandmothers in the mid-west eating catfood so that 28 year-old wallstreeters
Wall St. Is a Socialist institution.
>> Something has gone seriously wrong with Capitalism.
We don't have capitalism. We have national socialism. A "capitalist country" is an oxymoron. Capitalism is what exists when the government is NOT involved (i.e. freedom).
Uh.. Yes. Capitalism is private enterprise, private individuals and private property (a.k.a. FREEDOM). Freedom is what exists when there is no government.
Capitalism and anarchy are synonomous terms.
>> That's a new one on me...
That's because your definition of capitalism is no doubt founded in the schizophrenia instilled by the communist school system here in the united states. If you want a clear picture I suggest you read the works of Murray Rothbard.
I've never set foot in an American school, let alone had "schizophrenia instilled" in me by one.
That has to be the most wildly inaccurate straw man I've seen in a while, well done.
(Also, FYI most of the anarchists I've spoken to see anarchy as lots of small, self governing agrarian communities who use bartering to trade with each other...totally different from capitalism)
Well if there is a government then it's collectivism (a.k.a. socialism, a.k.a. communism) not ANARCHY isn't it? Most people calling themselves "anarchists" are actually Stalinists engaged in an orwellian psychologial warfare campaign.
Trade? You mean free individuals engaging in free exchange without the brutal terrorism of the state? That's called CAPITALISM (the opposite of collectivism, socialism, government, tyranny, etc).
I'm glad you're able to issue psychiatric diagnoses based on a couple of youtube replies. Most psychiatrists insist on meeting their patients and discussing their issues before labelling them with an illness, but not you. You must have a REALLY advanced PhD to be able to do that. I'm impressed.
Bartering is not capitalism. For there to be capitalism, there must be capital (i.e. money). If you are just bartering without money, it is not capitalism.
Capital is not money. Capital is SAVINGS (i.e. production - consumption) and takes multiple forms (e.g. real estate, machines, metals, etc). Barter implies that something was produced in order to be traded, ergo: capitalism.
"You must have a REALLY advanced PhD"
You must really be a statist to think someone needs a piece of paper in order to use a dictionary and think clearly.
P.S. I really don't understand why your getting belligerent about your schizophrenia.
Maybe you should check a dictionary before engaging in asinine, mentally ill rants. Or, you could try learning something about economics before you try talking about it, you jackbooted Hitlerian asshat.
Psychiatric were founded by Freud. So if your belief system is on his reformed drug addicts comments and advice with issues regarding his jewish mother.... No thanks, I take a bottle of whiskey and a bar tender working at minimum wage to answer the question of my being.
I agree, but when you REALLY delve deep into the issues, you will realize that capitalism is not the problem. Poor education and government education is.
Do you know how closely wall street works with the govt? Thats why they all drive ferraris. And they buy their ferraris as a business expense to impress clients... they dont actually own them themselves.
Besides spewing meaningless rhetoric, do you have any solutions other than coercion or well meaning regulations that often hurt the people they try to protect?
I wasn't aware that I was "spewing meaningless rhetoric"...I thought I was bringing up a valid concern. How is what I said "meaningless rhetoric"? I'd like to learn more from you...please explain.
By that I meant you making blanket statements with the faulty assumption that capitalism even exists in its true form. If anything, it's suppressive government policies which keep countries from actually pulling themselves out of their their misery. What we have is not capitalism, but a form of soft fascism with major corporations and governments in bed with each other. This fascism arose from the clash of two nominally opposing but statist sides of the same political party.
So it's Fascism, and not unbrideled, dog-eat-dog Capitalism that has caused poor Americans to fall even further into poverty while 25 year old traders and hedge fund managers manipulate the stock and bond markets to no good reason other than to siphon money and make million dollar bonuses for themselves and their already wealthy friends?
It's funny that you cite wall street and the CEO of overstock when the SEC is unable or unwilling to successfully regulate the naked shorting of stocks that was killing his company.
If you think that somehow government or some type of screwed up middle ground is going to make things better, then I would say that at 46, you have NOT learned a thing my old friend.
You criticize that which has not been tried and you find fault in the surface of problems without examining that which is underneath.
Good! Waste that gold to plate your Ferrari. The poor car will probably wind up in the hands of some spoiled rotten kid of dubious royal lineage who will trash it in the desert. It only makes gold more scarce and drives the price up.
status symbols like this represent the lowest depths of human self indulgence......I have a million times more respect for some rice farmer in Asia who walks to work or rides a bicycle.
The key word is 'unimaginable." The rice farmer would probably use all that money to feed his whole village for life - not drive around trying to impress other pricks who could care less as they climb over each other for expensive cars and pussy.
Only a venal imbicilic Gulf Arab cretin would buy such a ridiculous thing. Where is a Abrams M1 to run over it when you need one? Considering what happening to this Arabs idiots people in Iraq, Lebanon, and Palestine, this prick wastes his money on obscene childish toys like that. If it weren't for oil those beduoin illiterates of the Gulf would still be roaming the desert and sleeping in tents.......
Hmm too bad you couldn't ever park it anywhere. You would come outside and find chunks of the car missing.

MarcusCMarcellus 2 years ago
I concur wholeheartedly!!! (...with caveats. )Schiff is an insider by Joe standards but methinks not compared to Goldman Sachs Huddle Club and such - that being my point. And deification seems inevitable every time particularly when confronted with voices in the wilderness (in an ocean of sheeple and corporate shills.) It seems every good idea and cultural movement starts with purity/integrity and then gets mutated by too much inclusion - only to get watered down into a parody of itself.
bnfox 2 years ago
Marcus -
And I'm not sure what you mean by either a "Schiff movement" (a non-existent "movement") or any evidence that this non-existent movement has "morphed into an anti-wealth crusade". I have watched a lot of him for the last couple of years and see absolutely nothing that would support your cynical suggestion.I understand your concept - if you have evidence of your view I would be all ears.
bnfox 2 years ago
I'm not exactly sure how Schiff could be considered an anti-wealth, "get the rich guys" advocate - pretty sure he runs a company that helps other people create wealth and get rich. And it seems like he makes his money honestly compared to the market insider/gamers.
bnfox 2 years ago
If there is total economic collapse though, this guy will probably end up like the royalty of France. Just look at how angry the commenters are here -- we are starting to see immense hatred towards the rich. Just wait, heads will roll eventually.
iloveterriers 2 years ago 2
seems fair - the rich hate everyone below them.Kissinger refers to regular people as "useless eaters." Class warfare has been going on for eons - nothing has changed now (just because "they" have allowed a middle class for a few hundred years)
bnfox 2 years ago

Contrary to what people think, it IS a ZERO-SUM Game, and MILLIONS of people are being thrown to the curb
jarden69 2 years ago
Not sure why people are giving you the thumbs down. Your sentiments are what any normal human should feel.I suppose because it isn't the capitalist system that is wrong - it's the fact that the whole system is rigged.Too many cretins in America think the whole Gordon Gecko "greed is good" mantra was "badass." And people love all sorts of pointless crap (like this car)
bnfox 2 years ago
selfishness is a virtue. It really is quite true if you read some of the underpinnings and better explanations of capitalism and individualism.
I believe it's a tradition and symbol of status for wealthy Arabs to collect expensive foreign cars. Remember, most of these people had never seen a car throughout the 20th century. There's nothing wrong with treating yourself with wealth you justly accumulated the same way you last bought some token thing for your enjoyment.
immanent 2 years ago
One can argue that selfishness is a virtue - whether people choose to face it or not, everyone in actuality is selfish (by definition.) But I think the issue here isn't so much about selfishness - it's about greed and gluttony.
bnfox 2 years ago
a good example: people think the phrase is "money is the root of all evil" - the phrase is wrong (and money in itself is not evil.)The actual phrase is: "the love of money is the root of all evil' - this, of course is true and very applicable to the basic argument here.
bnfox 2 years ago
the love money is not the root of all evil. Sexual impotence (a.k.a. government, anti-social personality disorder) is the root of all evil.
A person can only benefit from a free exchange by what? HELPING SOMEONE ELSE FIRST.
So you could equally say the love of money is the root of all good.
It is no more the emotion than it is the artifact. It is how the artifact is obtained (i.e. the act) that is good or evil.

I was at the Ritz-Carlton yesterday just checking it out, and there was an Indian wedding, and the young couple were given a ferrari as
jarden69 2 years ago
>> Capitalism is a just and proper system for a country.
Capitalism is not a system. Communism is a system. Capitalism is the absense of a system
>> Grandmothers in the mid-west eating catfood so that 28 year-old wallstreeters
Wall St. Is a Socialist institution.
>> Something has gone seriously wrong with Capitalism.
We don't have capitalism. We have national socialism. A "capitalist country" is an oxymoron. Capitalism is what exists when the government is NOT involved (i.e. freedom).
icfnord 2 years ago
>Capitalism is what exists when the government is NOT involved
Capitalism = Anarchy?!
That's a new one on me...
TWMRNJ 2 years ago
Uh..
If you want a clear picture I suggest you read the works of Murray Rothbard.
icfnord 2 years ago
I've never set foot in an American school, let alone had "schizophrenia instilled" in me by one.
That has to be the most wildly inaccurate straw man I've seen in a while, well done.
(Also, FYI most of the anarchists I've spoken to see anarchy as lots of small, self governing agrarian communities who use bartering to trade with each other...totally different from capitalism)
TWMRNJ 2 years ago
Well if there is a government then it's collectivism (a.k.a. socialism, a.k.a. communism) not ANARCHY isn't it? Most people calling themselves "anarchists" are actually Stalinists engaged in an orwellian psychologial warfare campaign.
Trade? You mean free individuals engaging in free exchange without the brutal terrorism of the state? That's called CAPITALISM (the opposite of collectivism, socialism, government, tyranny, etc).
icfnord 2 years ago
If you can't distinguish between mutually exclusive, antithetical concepts then yes you are schizophrenic.
Government and capitalism are mutually exclusive concepts. Each human action can only be based on one or the other.
Its a simple choice:
capitalism or government
market or power
trade or terrorism
courage or fear
freedom or oppression
love or hate
No two concepts in the English language are more separated than capitalism and government.

Nice false dichotomies, btw.
TWMRNJ 2 years ago
"Bartering is not capitalism"
Capital is not money. Capital is SAVINGS (i.e. production - consumption) and takes multiple forms (e.g. real estate, machines, metals, etc). Barter implies that something was produced in order to be traded, ergo: capitalism.
"You must have a REALLY advanced PhD"
You must really be a statist to think someone needs a piece of paper in order to use a dictionary and think clearly.
P.S. I really don't understand why your getting belligerent about your schizophrenia.
icfnord 2 years ago 5
Capital = money, check your dictionary.
I was being sarcastic about the PhD, I don't think you have any qualifications whatsoever.
I'm getting bored of this now, let's stop. Neither of us is going to get angry enough to make this funny, we're both wasting our time.
TWMRNJ 2 years ago
TWMRNJ, just to clarify:
"capital
n.
a. Wealth in the form of money or property, used or accumulated in a business by a person, partnership, or corporation.
b. Material wealth used or available for use in the production of more wealth."
source: the free dictionary
MONEY is capital, capital is not money. This is because capital is a set of productive assets, in which money resides.
Also, paper is not money. Currency by fiat is the ghost of money.
kihjin 2 years ago
"Capital = money, check your dictionary"
From Dictionarydotcom:
wealth, whether in money or property
Maybe you should check a dictionary before engaging in asinine, mentally ill rants. Or, you could try learning something about economics before you try talking about it, you jackbooted Hitlerian asshat.

buttonmonkey01 2 years ago
I agree, but when you REALLY delve deep into the issues, you will realize that capitalism is not the problem. Poor education and government education is.
Do you know how closely wall street works with the govt? Thats why they all drive ferraris. And they buy their ferraris as a business expense to impress clients... they dont actually own them themselves.

Besides spewing meaningless rhetoric, do you have any solutions other than coercion or well meaning regulations that often hurt the people they try to protect?
Shadyhunter04 2 years ago
>> do you have any solutions other than coercion
There is only one solution and that is to abolish coercion and let individual choice and initiative flourish.
The solution to every problem is quite elementary and simple:
Get rid of the thing that is causing it (i.e. the state).
icfnord 2 years ago
I wasn't aware that I was "spewing meaningless rhetoric"...I thought I was bringing up a valid concern. How is what I said "meaningless rhetoric"? I'd like to learn more from you...please explain.
jarden69 2 years ago
By that I meant you making blanket statements with the faulty assumption that capitalism even exists in its true form. If anything, it's suppressive government policies which keep countries from actually pulling themselves out of their their misery. What we have is not capitalism, but a form of soft fascism with major corporations and governments in bed with each other. This fascism arose from the clash of two nominally opposing but statist sides of the same political party.
Shadyhunter04 2 years ago 2
