Every prison and jail should have this program!!! But I think that cats should be included in the program. Not everyone likes dogs....and there are so many beautiful cats on death row. I was lucky, 'cause when I came out of the woods and found a path leading through the snow with a girl sitting looking at the stars, sh...e took me in and loves me so much. She never even thought to dump me off at the already crammed shelter! I ♥♥♥ her SO much for that! >^..^<
They go through so much trouble screening the inmates for the program, getting a dog trainer for each inmate/dog pair, getting the building and grounds altered to accommodate the dogs, not to mention the fact that they're saving the dogs lives....I seriously don't think they would adopt them out to just anyone. I bet the potential adoptive families are screened just as thoroughly as any prisoner!!!
I believe that animals can change human hearts (including behaviors and emotions), This is a great program, and i think it will also give inmates to build responsibility.. good for dogs=good for inmates. who knows? when they come out of jail, they can be a VET!
Freaking awesome program! I love hearing about programs like this to help rehabilitate prisoners, especially non-violent ones.

This program should be in every state. While saving the dogs is most important, it may be changing the lives of the inmates.
