The reference is to Ophelia in Hamlet as depicted in a Pre-Raphaelite painting but there is also a P-R painting of Tennyson's The Lady of Shallot who likewise drowns herself. Great fun those late Victorians.

I believe the video images are a reference to a Pre-Raphaelie painting of Ophelia, from Hamlet. At least her floating in the water surrounded by flowers. haven't heard this song in years.

Her singing in the water surrounded by flowers is an homage to the painting "The Lady of Challote" (sp?).

They were ethereal and fantastic, and just at the right time too. :-) Ya don't hear music like this much anymore.

A box-set of remastered "oldies" would be GOLD! I carried around a musty old CS copy of "Helleborine" for what must have been years before I finally found it on CD.

As someone else said..underrated band. Criminally underrated.
