  • Good stuff.

This was actually filmed at The Lotus Ballroom, Forest Gate in East London. Not South London a stated.

  • ThIs

    Is

    AmAZiNg

  • what a great night that would have been,lord sutch,the kinks,nashville teens.

  • Terminemos la tarde de garagee con el buen Jack the ripper de Screaming Lord Sutch para mi es la mejor version y luego le sigue la de los peyotes....

  • This is King Diamond's grandpa :D

  • Bloody Brilliant...

  • I am related to him.

  • Sutch should have played the lead in A Clockwork Orange, in this outfit/character.

  • I love this guy !

  • british screaming jay.

  • Cool

  • Giggity

  • An evil Christmas to you all!

  • Can't stop watching this. But then again I'm a serial killer.

  • the original alice cooper

  • He resembles Lawrence Oliver as "Richard III!"

  • 2:48 When the crowd suddenly stop finding it sensational.

  • "With his little black bag,and his one track mind" That sums this dude up,yeah.

Original s.o.b. he was;but he wasn't able to move with the times, which probably caused his depressions.

    Priceless footage,this.

  • Always gave a great performance - back in the days when all the other singers just stood there and sang. Nicely. Saw his gig in 1963 - was he the first with proper long hair? Seemed so at the time.

  • PROPHET

  • had the great privalige to chat and film him one week before his death but have sworn never to show vid although family have seen it

colin reading berks miss him loads

  • He sure got laid after that brilliant move.

  • He kinda looks like Peter Boyle lol

  • LOv'him!!!...go maroolyn moonson! in the shower! suppository and in bed!!!

  • hahaha.. kind of white Screamin' Jay Hawkins.

  • The original shock rocker. RIP.

  • @DrippyBrown By the way, I never meant to look down on Ozzy's work or anything he's done. But as a fan of Alice Cooper I sometimes can't help myself comparing those two. It's VERY sad Ozzy's nearly lost his mind now and can't do anything without Sharon. I think 'having a talent' means more than having a good ability to play/write music, it's about self-control as well. Drugs, alcohol, anything can be a inspiration to an artist but if you don't control them, you will be controlled by them.

  • @DrippyBrown You're talkin about Ozzy selling more than 100m records. Then think about other pop stars like Justin Bieber, etc. If it doesn't sound clear, think of Metallica. I am a BIG fan of them so don't get me wrong, but they're somehow overrated like many other famous musicians. Not all people who buy albums are true fans, some of them just buy albums to 'look cool' -because it's (again) all about names. Am talkin about fashion victims and I don't consider them as fans.

  • @DrippyBrown I do not believe the greatest musicians always sell a lot of records. And it's not really just my opinion, sort of truth. Screaming Lord Sutch gets his respect from a LOT of musicians for his creativity+talent+as a pioneer of Shock Rock scene. Of course some people don't even know him, but his legacy means more than how many records he'd sold, it's the 'influence' and 'motivation' he+his music+his political act contributed to the world.

  • @DrippyBrown Am no joking. Lord Sutch created the whole Shock Rock scene, inspired from Screamin Jay Hawkins a lot. Also the theatrical manner in music scene almost didn't exist at that time, Joe Meek + Lord Sutch have put them altogether(music+play) for the first time in R'n'R scene.

I myself is a fan of Ozzy, but I don't think he's particularly talented one to be honest. Re Black Sabbath...It's more about Ronnie James Dio and Ian Gillan to me. Ozzy did a great job for sure though.

  • @yuame definitely agree. Black sabbath with Ozzy will always be a legendary lineup but Ozzy himself is, in my opinion a less than stellar musician. For me Sabbath was much better with Dio, Gillan, and Martin. I don't want to piss anyone off but no one has anything on Screaming Lord Sutch!

  • @DrippyBrown That guy was WAY more talented than Ozzy.

  • jack chiripa

  • Did anyone else notice Paul Nicholas playing the piano? He was known then as Paul Dean and chose the surname Nicholas much later.

  • GRACIAS SAMBDA !

    I LOVE YOU TOO !!

  • Jack The Rippa, Jack The Rippa!

  • 3:32 is the best time to skip to :3

  • At 2:20 .... The bravest kid alive !! ;-)

  • I love to say my parents were great friends with lord sutch and I only knew him when I was little. He was a wonderful caring man and he bought me sweets once along with a teddybear straw hat which he signed the inside of. I used to wear it all the time and wondered where he went when I didn't see him anymore... I didn't know then that he died :( <3

  • @LizRichieBand LOL umad alice coopers bad bro?

  • THIS GUY WAS REALLY HIGH!!!

  • He must be related to Alice Cooper

  • A+

  • There sure are a lot of "Joe 90s" in the audience.

  • what a good song lol

  • the audience is actually terrified of him

  • @braindamagehurts44 he actually wasn't that scary when I knew him lol :)

  • @jazzamataz007 luckyyyy

  • I love this

  • the fisrt guy with a long hair in the history of music?

couple years before the beatles were a scandal with those "long hair" and this guy already had hair in his shoulders...

  • IN THIS BAND, THE SAVAGES, Paul Nicholas, Ron Harwood, Pete Philips, Geoff ( Pussey ) Mew. and of course DAVID SUTCH. Colin Dale Radio Sutch.

  • Fucking awesome; fucking hilarious.

  • Dave Vanian's Dad!

  • Normally I am not keen on live performences , but then there are always exeptions . This is one of them . Better than the record though don't get me wrong , that is good . However it is a great pitty that he did not do a studio recording in this style . First class performence all round . 10 out of 10 .

  • decades ahead of his time! unbelievably awesome!

  • lol at 0:41

  • I love this man.

  • the original gg allin

  • @pippigladstone Except GG Allin was a self-egotistical asshole.

  • @DrugStabbingTime yes he was, but im talkin as far as intimidating the crowd. why do people hate gg so much? he was funny, and he rolled in shit, and talked shit, he was entertaining. he was cooler than michael damien or mc hammer..

  • Formidable ! Je vote Screaming Lord Sutch ! Aux chiottes Sarkozy ! Thanks for the post of this great rarety.

  • 2:26 "JACK CHIRIPA"

  • "theres a man walks the street of london late at NAIYAIT"

  • I WANNA SEE MORE VIDEOS OF LORD SUTCH PERFORMANCES LIVE ...I HAVE SEEN LORD SUTCH TWO TIME HERE AND THE WEMBLEY STADIUM 1972....I WANT SEE MORE!!!!

    GENIOUS!!

  • If you go to the site below and scroll down, you will see that the 'Christmas' bit was proberly put in as it was believed that the film would be shown on the BBC over Christmas, as we know it was actually shown on 23 April 1965. On the web site below it is stated that the posters behind Sutch show dates in August and the Sutch posted states September, ofcourse. This was filmed on 29th September 1964.

    rapidbelgrade.comtopic 98120.0

  • @Janterrydee

Ah, now that makes sense. The dates on the posters behind Sutch do verify the story. Sorry to be so skeptical; it's 90% of my day job. Apologies all around.

  • @prospectus91 Apology accepted. I can be really sure of dates in the 60s as I still have all my diaries from that time!! great times.

  • THE LORD HAS RISEN FROM THE DEAD!!! Follow him @Lord_Sutch on twitter.

  • Happy Birthday , Your Lordship. We miss you.

Thanks for putting up this great clip.

  • what a genius. the people were really scared....i heard from an ex-bassplayer that played with him in the 60s that in some secret shows he was throughing innards, guts and blood into the audience. and they loved it!

but he also said he was asshole. :DDD

  • Thanks for sharing!! Amazing quality.

  • JAjajajajaaaa. Rocanrolllllllllllllllllll.

  • fucking love it!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • shyeah. this is so effing awesome.

  • If anyone is interrested this is part of a Joe Meek documentary if you put Joe Meek Screaming Lord Sutch

In the search you will find the whole of the documentary which has been put on YouTube in four parts. The above is in part four.

  • BRILLIANT!

  • What a friendly young man! I think the girls in the audience should have invited him to tea!

  • This better than king diamond!!!

  • @Killyourboss King Diamond isn't a shock rocker but man he came to mind when i saw this guy!

  • love it!!!

  • Thank you very much for this one!

  • total one-off, fuckin love it

  • ITS DAVE VANIANS DADDY : D

  • Love it.

  • Hi Sambda,

Got It !!!! 1'25 is the time a? he-he, getting old! Yes, I am the blond at 1'25.

  • Hi Sambda, What is 1'25? I am sitting about half way alone the frount row in the first shot of me I am facing away from the camra facing my friend Carol (Dark short hair) but turn toward the camra later. I did not have a 'beehive' only the older girls had them still. At 15 we were a bit more 'with it'!!!. Great times, we were always allowed in dressing rooms to get autographs inc Beatles, Rollingstones etc. The young fans don't get a chance with the big venues now. Promoters are so gready now.

  • Thanks for sharing

  • This was recorded in Forest Gate North London, at the Lotus Club. The date was 29th Sep 1964, it was first shown on BBC2 on Fri 23 Apr 1965. I am the Blond in the frount row I was 15. We didn't have our skirts very short as tights wern't yet around , still in stockens & suspenders, Topless dresses were in and my dress is cut as low as my mother would allow!. Great times, Gigs were all held in small dance hall etc so we got close to the artists not like the venues now!!!

  • @Janterrydee The girl in shot at 1'25?? Or the beehive one later?

  • @Janterrydee You look ahead of your time fashion-wise! You're correct, you were transmitted on 7.25-8pm in "Screamin' Lord Sutch - A Documentary" on BBC2. Bloody fantastic to have been a part of history like this. Fashion, science, make-up. cinema, TV, attitudes etc moved so fast in the Sixties, compare 1960 to 1970 versus 2000-2010 and you'll see what I mean!

  • @Janterrydee was everyone really scared of him?

  • @deadlyfork Yes in a really exciting way. He was so mad you could not trust him !!!

But like Dracula, us girls found him frightening and sexually exciting all at the same time!!!! great full.

  • @deadlyfork If anyone is interrested this is part of a Joe Meek documentary if you put Joe Meek Screaming Lord Sutch

In the search you will find the whole of the documentary which has been put on YouTube in four parts. The above is in part four.

  • @Janterrydee

If this was recorded at the end of September, why is he wishing " an evil Christmas to you all" @ 3:10?

  • @prospectus91

    Hi Pros,

Think that the Happy Christmas was added by the BBC as this clip went out on a TOPS2 christmas special. If you look at the Joe Meek documentry of screamin lord Sutch part 4, you will see the original, that went out on Fri 23 April 1965. If anyone is interrested this is part of a Joe Meek documentary if you put 'Joe Meek Screaming Lord Sutch' In the search you will find the whole of the documentary which has been put on YouTube in four parts. The above is in part four.

  • @prospectus91 JOE MEEK - SCREAMING LORD SUTCH - DOCO PT4

Yes, just had another look at the original and cant hear any 'Christmas' on that,

  • @Janterrydee

I'm sorry, but I do not understand what you mean. Are you referring to the "original" single? I meant this particular live performance, that's why I included a hyperlink to exactly when he says "an evil Christmas to you all" @ 3:10. The question remains: if this live performance was recorded in September, why is Sutch mentioning Christmas?

  • @prospectus91 I mean the original film!!!! this is just a cutting of an original documentry, these few minutes were put out on tv 'top of the pops 2' as a christmas special!!! hope you get it now. If you look at "JOE MEEK - SCREAMING LORD SUTCH - DOCO PT4" which is on You Tube, you will see the full version. It would be just like Dave to say "horrid Christmas" in September and this was proberly why they used this cutting at Christmas. The full version is much longer. Take a look.

  • @Janterrydee

Alright, checked out "LORD SUTCH - DOCO PT4" and he says "an evil Christmas to you all" @6:04 of that particular cut of this performance. Again, this leads me to believe that this was a Christmas-time performance and Ms. Dee is mistaken about the specific date.

  • @Janterrydee I think I can see which one is you . So when did tights actually come about then ?

  • @2100Rose Tights came in a year or two after this (1965/66) I remember going into my office at that time and saying to the girls "look at these new things, they are called tights and we can now wear our skirts as short as we like", and we did !! If they couldn't see your nickers when you bent over the skirt/dress was too long!!!

As i have said often they were great times and we were all little rebels.

  • @Janterrydee Getting off the subject I know but I have to tell you that they were the best thing that were ever invented . Always found them to be more sexier than stokings . Sadly few women seem to wear them now .

  • @2100Rose Think you will find they are worn more in the winter now, so you will have to look in the winter!!!!!

Bare legs and stockens now are the summer wear it seems!!!!! and there don't seem to be as many slim girls now days, you need to be slim to wear a mini and tights well (fat legs look yuk!!!). All of us lot started life as babies on 'Rations' (which lasted well into the 50s) hence most of us were nice and slim without even trying. good luck with the tights hunt !!!

  • @Janterrydee Don t try to get close to the artists......just be the artists......btw.....venues is now!!!

  • @Janterrydee you look so cute here

  • @Janterrydee You were an adorable girl. What do you mean by "topless dresses"?

  • @seanicus100 hi, In 1964 the topless dress came in, several famous women were seen in them, and arrested !!! look in google. the neck line came below the breast leaving the bosom completly exposed. Like Cleopatra wore. What with that and striping off at outside pop festivals!! we were little devils. but that was the 60s. Great fun.

  • @Janterrydee Teen girls in stockings and suspenders?

    I was born too late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He was inspired by Screamin' Jay Hawkins. It sounded different from The Beatles in 1964!

  • I seem to recall someone saying that the little dark haired guitarist on this vid, is Jimmy Page !

  • Brilliant upload! The master of Horror Rock.

  • No doubt about it--great value for money.

  • i love you for uploading this. amazing.

  • thanks so much for uploading this, your a fucking star

  • Wow, that was great!
