@andretodopoderoso7 Not trying to be argumentative but why won't the silver tube be an adequate heatsink? Am I assuming its metal when it is plastic. I thought I read it was metal.
This is a class IV 1W 445nm laser! it needs a decent heatsink, otherwise it will heat up to much in no time an effect the diodes life. Even a class IIIb laser, like a 200mw red laser needs at least a small heatsink to "pull the heat" from the diode.
I already told you.. btw have you ever build any laser yourself? Probably not..
The module is in fact made of alluminum and it dissipates some heat from the diode but it´s not enough! If you dont use a proper heatsink around the module it will heat up very fast and effect the diode´s life, cant you understand this?
@andretodopoderoso7 Um no need to get shitty about it. I asked you for a reason the on why the aluminum tube wouldn't be adequate and all you did was kept repeating "you need a heat sink". No shit sherlock. Personally I have built both solid state diode laser and tube lasers so I know about heat sinks. What I didn't know what exactly "WHY" the aluminum tube, which has a lot of surface area is not adequate.
@andretodopoderoso7 (con't) Maybe I have never used that type of module before so I don't know if it would be adequate? Ever think of that? Obviously not because your throwing terms around like "Duty Cycle" and thinking you are hot shit like most keyboard commandos that come on YT. If your not prepared to explain your answers to peoples comments better then perhaps you should refrain from commenting and stick to building lasers. You obviously have no social skills for explaining them.
where did you get the gun?

I love electronics but why do all these videos have stripper music? I'm going to listen to buffalo springfield while I watch your video on mute.

No heatsink for a 1W laser?!
andretodopoderoso7 1 year ago
@andretodopoderoso7 The silver tube the diode is encapsulated in will serve as an adequate heatsink.
Nabelnoir 1 year ago
@Nabelnoir
Silver tube? You mean the axiz module xD
No it wont my friend.. without a proper "heatsink" the duty cycle should be no more than 20s on.

@andretodopoderoso7 Well I understand that it is a class IV laser, but what makes the metal tube an improper heatsink? That is all I want to know?
