  • @chendaforest Must be the music. ;) Thanks for the comment. I'm doing great.

  • @tracysigler where does the water used to flush out cyst go?

  • @oneperson85 Not sure, but they have various sponges and suction tubes around the site. I assume it's all gathering up and treated as bio waste.

  • I got the weirdest boner.

  • Hey~ Tracy Sigler how did you get the video ?

  • @megablood02 They docs told me they were recording the surgery because my situation was unusual. I asked them for a copy afterward.

  • @tracysigler Ooo~ thxx

  • this is the reason i want to become a neurosurgeon, I want to help people like you take care of themselves and the brain just plain fascinates me, I've wanted to do this since I was in third grade. Thanks for posting your video

  • @ransomcornpop Good for you. Yes, neuro stuff is pretty interesting. If I had this experience when I was younger I might gone in that direction. Thanks for your note.

  • @ransomcornpop I tell people that I want to be a neurosurgeon, and they say, "Whats neuro mean?"

  • @moonfeet1 hah! that happens to me too! or they just say "cool" with a really confused look on their faces

  • Did they reconstruct your forhead skull?

  • @TSquared2001 Yes. One big piece removed and put back with screws.

  • @tracysigler That's a scary thought.

  • a matter of life and death surgery isnt it?

  • @Andrewterrorist Meaning I would have died soon without it? Not in my case. But it had to be addressed at some point. I did not procrastinate.

  • oh dude. That's both freaky and awesome. I wanna squirm and puke but I also wanna stare in amazement at this... thing.

  • Interesting

  • Your brain looks absolutely delicious...

  • i had the same sugery

  • @Jay1203461003 Listen to what you doctor is saying. If that doesn't make sense to you get second or third opinion. I'm sure once you get more info about your situation that you will feel a lot less stressed. Hang in there.

  • Then he goes omnomnom

  • I love how it's absolutely disgusting but there's nice calming music in the background :L

  • I have a can of Flat Tire Fix in the trunk of my car if you'd like to fill that big hole they left in there...

  • I have a big can of Flat Tire Fix in the trunk of my car, if you need to fill up that big whole you left in there...

  • LOL

  • cyst looks gross

  • DOCTOR = GOD!!!!

  • would water on the brain be a bad thing?

  • @BroadwayPirate1106 Dude, you're body is 95-97% water.

  • wow, thanks for the music. It really keeps me from freaking out

  • Recurring headaches don't necessarily mean that there's a problem up there does it

  • @MrPolskadupa No, but if the headaches are frequent, painful, over a long period, and don't respond to medicine it's probably a good idea to see a doctor.

  • I wonder how a diermoid Cyst got in there.

  • did you suffer from brain damage after the surgery???

did you forget anything or did you attitude change at all?!?!?

    this is fantastic!!!!

i hope you are doing great!!!!!

  • @lindavz8 Hey Linda, It's all in the blog that's linked in the description. No damage, etc. Lost my sense of smell for a few days and that was it. Doing great. Thanks for your note.

  • WOW...amazing. Not to be funny, but did you dream of swimming or drowning when water was poured on the brain?

  • @mowriter No dreams that I can remember, just a headache.

  • Why did u get that?

  • whats the yellow thing coming out of his brain??

  • @1994firas Read the title of the video.

  • o god i think gonna be SICK!!

  • What is the survival rate for a surgery like this? Im afraid if I was ever to have a surgery like this I might not have a high survival rate.

  • were you in pain after surgery????? feel bad or anything?????? i was always scared of geting it.

  • were you awake?

  • that was real cool and even tho it was gross i know its human body

  • Buddy, that's pretty cool ! You really changed my ideas of those Surgeries !!!

  • i never knew the brain could be opened and put back together like this...

  • One day i want to be a brain surgeon!!.... nice vid but a bit creepy lol

  • Hey tracy! I have some questions.

When they removed your forehead skull what did they do to replace it? Did they put the skull back on?

Also It looks like after they removed the cyst a portion of your brain was missing. Was it?

    Also was the surgery expensive?

    Thanks for posting this video!

  • @Totalwarfan1 Hey, check out my blog for lots of details. See the channel page for the link. Yes, they put it back with some tabs and screws.

The cyst just pushed the brain out of the way. Once it's gone the brain slowly goes back to where it should be.

Ha. Yeah, I think it was pretty expensive. Can't remember for sure but I think it was billed in the six figure range.

  • @tracysigler once they screw it back on the skull just regrows together hard as ever again right?

  • @MFRoosy16 Yeah, they also use a coral-based cement that I'm told fills in the bone gap and eventually is almost undetectable. Not that anyone should be looking at my bare skull again.

  • @tracysigler oh so it is all healed good though 100%? and the bone is Solid good? drink lots of milk! is your hair good?

  • @MFRoosy16 Yep. Bionic man! What hair?

  • @tracysigler i was thinking that after you get your surgery your hiar will slowly grow back..... i mean do you feel ok and everything??????/

  • @MFRoosy16 I'm doing great. Thanks for asking. I was joking about the hair because I'm bald. See the blog for pics of staples in my bald head.

  • what kind of music is this? what about the actual sounds during the surgery?

  • @GoldenShiner1 The song is just something YouTube provides. There was no audio with these videos.

  • jw were u awake when tehy did this or do u HAVE 2 b asleep?

  • @XxTheCraziesxX i think you have to be awake.

  • @thesexysnake10 o h

  • watching the surgeons pour the water in their is insane it looks as if your brain is being drowned. wow thats just amazing, thanks for posting this.

  • Thanks for sharing this with us

I think I speak for everyone here,we do appreciate.

    Stay healthy

  • @JJengineering Thanks JJ!

  • @tracysigler

    Your welcome :P

  • Seems your brain have been damaged by the cyst ? How can you be sure your consiousness haven't been altered by the cyst and/or the surgery ?

  • @LunaVorax I'm pretty certain I'm the same as before. It doesn't matter anyway. You do the best with what you have.

  • @tracysigler i was diagnosed with whjat they said was a dermoid in betwen the halves of my bain they aid its an anomloy they see every so often,,imnow freaking out that something could happen its was then (would know if they grow )4mm back then 10 years ago, what are these things,,anyhelp would be apreciated.: )

  • @lynnej1970 Hey Lynne, I'm not sure I understand your question. Yes, I do believe cysts grow, but slowly. Dermoid cysts are just skin and related cells in the wrong place. I suppose the risk really depends on where it is. Only your doctor can tell you that though.

  • @tracysigler oh he said nothing to worry about but like i decied tojust look waht itmeant "he called it an anomoly that he sees in ppl eery now and then, but on the report it said dermoid,4mm.and i never thought tolook it up and then i panicked when i seen they grew, well i hope he was right, shouldnt they get checked?like its been 10 years since i had a scan.and was found by accident.anyway thanks for taking your time out to reply : )

  • @tracysigler

lol i can see what your thinking

  • im so happy ur alive today even tho i dont know u

  • @MyComputerwizard Thanks!

  • was it weird after surgery? did you have to relearn anything?

  • @199291931 Not weird so much as being exhausted. Fortunately I did not have relearn anything. The whole story, with pics, is at my blog. See the link on my profile page.

  • This video is amazing song is kinda creepy but im just amazed, and btw is ur brain pulsing? like where you feeling it at all?

  • @gumecindos1fan No, you're totally under with a surgery like this.

  • what is a cyst??

  • Wow. How cool you got to have a video of it. I've never had surgery but if I did I would want a video too. And to keep whatever they take. I'm morbid, lol.

    Hope you're doing well though!

  • thats what happens when u buy justin bieber cd's

  • I had a brain surgery for one of my tumors senior year of high school- about 3 years ago- and always sort of wished I could have seen the process. This is amazing to me. Hope you're doing well.

  • @queenoftokyo Doing well, thanks. Sounds like you are too.

  • Wow, amazing video. I have one question: did it freak you out a bit when you watched the video and saw how bad the person's hands were shaking that were holding the "tweezer" like instrument? Man, they had too much coffee that morning. I am so happy that you are doing well. Scary to have something wrong with your brain. Thanks for sharing the vid with us.

  • @Tiffanip1202 I think he had under control. ;) Thanks for the comment.

  • WOW, so weird!! I had the EXACT same thing! My surgery was back in 1991 and it was on the left side of the skull. It was about the size and shape of a hotdog. You are the first person I've come across that's had this too! The neurosurgeon told me that I had probably had it since birth and it had just been growing since then. I actually never had any symptoms from it. Mine was found by accident when I had a head xray because of a neck injury...... WEIRD!!!

  • @JustaWyomingGirl Sounds like you're doing well. Go to know!

  • @tracysigler Yeah, I haven't had any problems. Although, with my dermoid, it had been secreting something that had actually eaten a hole thru the skull bone, so I have a plate there now. I take it that this wasn't the case with you??

Odd trivia!.... the neurosurgeon said that the plate is made of a similar substance to kevlar, so if anyone ever tries to shoot me I just need to duck real fast and make sure it hits the 4 inch plate..... what a wise guy huh?! ;-)

  • MAY ALLAH GIVE U A HEALTHY LIFE.....GOD BLESS U

  • what is dermoid cyst?

  • its crazy what we can do

  • how bad was the headache?

  • @latexroach Before? Bad enough, but not like I was writhing in pain on the floor.

  • wouldn't there be a risk for hydroencephalitus using this procedure?

  • @Masternayan117 See my blog for details. I had a shunt for a few days after the surgery to help with that. Part of this surgery was to remove a colloid cyst which itself presents a risk of hydroencephalitis. There is also a video here that shows the endoscope working on that. Thanks for your question.

  • were you awake for the surgery

  • @DaRoK7 Nope. I was out for 10 hours or so.

  • Did you endure any permenant damage to your brain?

  • @TheBlindPowerslave No, it all went well. But ask my wife for a second opinion.

  • @tracysigler Glad to hear it. :)

  • this is sad

  • I think the only thing that really creeped me out is how the brain was...Pulsating...>_<

  • Hey there i had surgery for the same thing except my dermid cyst was on the skull in side my head ofcourse, it was on my right side of the head and they had to make a insition like a horse shoe from the top of the ear to the end of the ear, it took me a year or two to recover. I still have 3 arachnoid cysts in my head two in my brain and one on the base of my head. Thank god they aren't too big and right know they don't want to remove them. Just though I would share my story thanks for listening

  • @fuge633 Thanks for sharing that. I think the horseshoe incision is more common. Mine is called a "bicoronal" and it goes from ear to ear over the top of my head. Maybe your cysts will go away altogether. Good luck.

  • @fuge633

May God be gracious to you.

  • I WILL NEVER EAT AGAIN.

  • I eat this for breakfast every day

  • whats a dermoid cyst

  • why the hell am i watching this?!

  • @Holyfire10000

    To learn something...

  • this isnt as bad ass as i thoght it whould be

  • Wow. How did the prepare you for the surgery, and what was it like after the surgery was complete?

  • Hey amartin, Check out the blog link in the description box on this page. More details than you'll ever want to know. ;) The biggest surprise afterward was the tremendous fatigue. I stay fit and didn't think this type of operation would make me so worn out, for weeks, maybe months.

  • Tracy, this video is impressive and your blog is very informative. Your experience is very inspiring. Thanks, man!

PS: I like the quote in your blog: "the good news is they did find a brain." :-)

  • Hey Rotorme, Thanks for your note. Yeah, my brother is quite the comedian.

  • ur an ignorant piece of shit

  • @sensual1hottie1 why is he?

  • truly amazing, even as a adolecent, i am fasinated by medical operations and information, i hope one day i can become a doctor, surgeon, or bioengineer

  • Did you know some guy stole your video?

  • really interesting seeing it, my step mother has a cyst on the brain that keeps re-growing after 2 surgeries in a month, she lost most of her sight but hopefully it'll come back, the cyst is in a fragile area that'd cost her a large brain area if they get it all , they are trying to treat it with medication now but its good to see how you came through it , not sure what cyst she has but apparently its hair and teeth and things

  • That sounds like a dermoid. Good luck to your step mother. Sorry it's been such a struggle to fix.

  • What is a cyst and how can u or do u get one?

  • great vid....i have never understood how people still have their skull in tact after a this typee of surgery....

  • Screws and metal strips, plus a special coral-base cement that grows into the bone. Good as new baby! Well, sorta.

  • wow i never would have thought!

  • This proves that I can never be a surgeon because as I was watching him/her gently poke pieces out I was itching to take a spoon and just scrape out the chunks =O

  • no, i think you just want ice cream =D

  • could u have died without that surgery ?

  • Eventually. The other cyst, colloid, was more immediately dangerous. It could block fluid, cause swelling, and sudden death if it had moved in the right way, or grew.

  • wats a cyst

  • yeah! wat is c yst

  • Fascinating, thanks for sharing something to the world that's deeply personal. Hope all is well now.

  • Yes, I'm doing great. Thanks for the comment.

  • My 3yo is going to have this surgery in a few weeks. Seeing these is very comforting to me. It is always the Not-knowing that is scary.

  • I hope that all is well with your child. Yes, it seems the more you know the more you feel prepared to deal with it. Thanks for the comment.

  • i finally no what a brain look like

  • Did you have any brain damage after the surgery?

What damage was doing the cyst?

  • Sorry, I thought I had replied to this already. No damage as far as I can tell, but ask my wife for a second opinion. ;) This cyst wasn't an immediate concern. The smaller cyst, colloid in the third ventricle, was causing serious headaches and there was a risk that it could block the flow of fluid, causing swelling in the brain and even death.

  • Wow... judging by the comments you're leaving you're doing alright. That's good news!

  • Thanks for sharing.
