Well, the biggest difference is the QWERTY keyboard so if you are a big QWERTY texter, I would get the enV2, otherwise you'll have to text the old alphanumeric way (which I happen to prefer). The Glance doesn't have a MicroSD slot so you really won't be able to store music or download apps to it. They are the same price so I would say you are going to get a whole hell of a lot more features for your money with the enV2.
i've had a choc 2 for ages.. its been my fav Vzon phone.. i recently tend to upgrade phones simply for the sake of having back ups... but when i saw this phone i felt i actually may have found a replacement for my choc 2.
i have minor issues with this phone:
1. NO SD CARD SLOT(what in the hell why not!)
2. Call quality is crap compared to what i'm used to.. sounds watered down
but texting on this phone is very easy and i like the design
I think I want to get this phone for my mother but the only thing I was wondering is if it has "Get It Now" so I could download Back--up Assistant. I couldn't find that much anywhere. Thanks for your timely response.
Thank you and just one other question. Is there a way to un-lock it without having to press the left soft key and then the "ok" button? I want to get it for my mother but that might be a little complicated for her. Would you recommend any other Verizon phone that just super simple, preferably with a large screen. I've seen the incredibly basic Samsung Knack but we're more of an LG/Motorola family. Thank you very much!
No, I think thats programmed in. My friend just bought her Mom the Knack and her Mom loves it. I her ya though, what about the LG VX5500? go to our website. YouTube doesn't allow links so its wirelesszonedotcom and if you go to Products & Services, pick LG from the dropdown in the grey box, then you'll find the VX5500 on the top right of the phone grid. The next page has specs but more important, read the reviews from other users. Mostsay its very easy to use. Hope that helps.
Thanks for your input. She actually went with the Motorola Adventure overall. Total change of plans but it was on the display right next to the LG VX5500 you recommended. So thank you very much!
y couldnt this be the front of the env 3. i dont understand y they insist on putting tiny screens when they have plenty of room if they were to get rid of the giant lg and verizon logos. i guess it keeps the cost lower.... but still...
I said the Versa, you asked me about 5 times in comments if you should get the VERSA or the ENVTOUCH. I see here you saying to someone you are getting the Touch, so I was asking if you still wanted me to answer your previous comments.
I really thought it was cool for an entry level phone. It has a lot of features (Camera, Threaded Text Messages, Bluetooth, VZ Navigator) and its super-small! Go for it!
Hey I'm thinking about getting the glance. does it have a music player? ANd i heard the back covering is actually feels/looks really cheap; its not what it looks like in the pics. is it really that cheap?
I just got this phone today, and I love it! It's compact, has good pictures, has pretty good sound, and is really easy to use. One downfall is that it doesn't take video, which stinks. Otherwise it's a great phone. :)
iactually kind of like it. it's an regular phone. and its sweet. gold braiding on the back. and u probably dont have a lot of features to keep finding when looking for something else. it's a phone and that's what's supposed to be.
A lot of you make a good point. This is an entry level phone. It is not meant to compete with the enV's and the smartphones. It is very basic and that is the intention. Lg and all other manufacturers are covering a large audience of people with varied levels of interests in phones.
look man in my opinion this phone is downright sexy. and for those of you who are bashing the glance, this is supposed to be an entry level phone. not everybody needs/wants an iphone or an enV or other phones with all these fancy stuff. personally i'm looking to get this phone cause i really need a new one.
and i'm sure the price isn't that bad. wasn't the razr priced at $100 when it came out? it wasn't really special in any way except for the fact that is was thinner.
Sliders appeal to me, as they do other people, verizon took a step forward when they made this. They opened their brand to people looking for something other than a gimmicky phone that plays music and has a touch screen. This looks like a great phone.
You have to realize that some people don't like the real fancy phones. There are people out there who still want a phone that is nice and simple and only does the necessary standard functions of a telephone.

I wonder if there will be an extended battery available for this phone? The battery only seems to be 800mAh so that might not last very long.
Good to see a real candy bar phone with Verizon instead of those flip phones or sliders all the time.
Would be nice to see a review on call quality and how it holds the signal in weak areas.
thanks for the video as it helps making a purchasing decision.
