This show could have been better if the writers really knew the meaning of enlighten. Either they should change the title to 'Loser' from 'Enlighten' or truly start putting a perspective toward the winning nature of a person who achieves enlightenment. When a person gets enlightened they overcome suffering by solving issues. This show does opposite of the above. I guess because the main character hangs with all those loser people who brought her down to begin with.
@BlondeBeliefs the show is still in progress. theyre not gonna have laura derns character in a perfect world already. what would be the point of the show then? and i think shes doing alright by the end of the season.
There is something I love about a bathroom crying scene...as if our society has become so anti emotion and anti tears, that we lump it into the same dump that we do with excrement and urine- we excuse ourselves, go have a moment, and then come back lol...I'm a dude, and I love crying in public lol true story. xo~ ps. not sobbing, like a good manly quiet cry- just let the big f-ing drops of tears fall down my cheek! YEAH! ROAR! MAN POWER! EMOTIONS! Enlightenment?
feels like a really bad apple commercial with that melody and white background at the end. It's like you're just waiting to hear a man say "Now introducing the iRuns, makes your poop like molten lava"
@anteracmacash Not really. HBO first promos are always just simple teases that give nothing about the plot away. The Six Feet Under promos, the Big Love falling promo, the Entourage promo where they are all just standing next to that car. And yet, there's always one guy who has to complain like watching some abstract first tease was the worst thing that ever happened to him.
@anteracmacash Whatever. It's not designed to make you want to watch the show. It's too early for that. It's just designed to pique your interest slightly so you'll be receptive to further promos. Seeing as enlightened is about a woman going through a major change, I'd say the first promo is thematically sound.
Laura Dern looks like a banana.

the show is great and Dern is the best lead I've seen since Glenn Close in 'Damages', she's just brilliant.
