Yes he was then he became the British King Of Pop and was compared to MJ after all he is the British Peter Pan of Pop, and still going strong bless him I admire and respect this man to no end, he is brilliant and the kindest man you ever want to meet.
Sad, tune. Beautiful. The fatal love ballad...miss you...and the nights so long without you. Always blown away by the line: "and the warm winds/that caress me/have just as surely kissed your face"...stunning.
Memories of my first holiday with my girlfriend, she says she fell in Love with me on that holiday but i knew she was for me the first time we met. That was 2001 and now she is my wife and i love her more than ever.
@one4christ100 Wiki says he's living with his companian an ex-preist ?

In a poll of Sir Cliff 's songs this was voted No.1 and as a long time Cliff fan I have no quarrel with the result, except maybe unchained melody or She's Gone or It's you or Voice................................................. etc.
forgotten about this song, so long since i last heard it. stil so good. just as good as it was all those years ago. which means, i guess, this is indeed , a classic.
This song was written in a small flat in Bridgwater by Dave Townsend. He rented it from a lady estate agent who worked in the building next door. Dave had broken up with his girlfriend and was missing her greatly. He wrote this song with a broken heart. That's why it's so special. He used to pop next door to show his friend the words he was writing and asked for her comments. She gave him words of encouragement and helped him through that time. 'Miss You Nights' is the result ...
I love this song. For many years... The first time I heard it I was just married. But now, 20 years later, I am divorced. But I still miss her!!! This is a beautiful song
People take the pee out of Cliff, but he is soo talented. They are dumb and without soulx. My mother was in love with Cliff in the 60's! She had soo many albums etc and i asked her in the 80's when i was a girl. whom is that gorgeous man?
Sad song that conjures up very unhappy memories for so many people. Cliff sings this beautifully - one of his better ballads. As already said this was his best era/decade.
My fiancée split up with me but sent me a copy of this record five days later. We married that year and had a daughter two years later. Sadly, the marriage failed and whenever I heard this song I struggled to hold back the tears (yes, men cry as well). 31 years apart. Four years ago we met again and we met regularly for a meal and a chat. I told her that I could not hide my feelings for her, but she held me at arms length. Until 6 weeks ago when she admitted that she still had feelings for me.
Oh, I Miss You Nights...So many secrets held close to our hearts, the hours spent late at night when we shared so much. I miss you my darling twin you will be in my heart for always and forever.
my mum died in june 2000 and we played this one at her funeral. She was born on his birthday which was 14 october but she was 20 years younger than sir cliff. we even had him come to our mothers funeral. rip mum. love you forever.
Miss and love my John so much. John passed away so suddenly on 12th May 2008. We were married for 37 years and he should have had so many years to come. <3<3<3 Hazel xx (your Sandi)
Just great - out of sight!!! One of the many many great songs by Cliff. So relaxing and soothing that chivers down your spine! Greetings to all Cliff''s funs from MALTA
Miss you so very much Michelle~ Try not to cry too much thinking of you but sometimes I still do~ Rest In Peace & please know* I'll NEVER EVER forget or let you go~
nice words, he has a great voice, grew up listening to cliff richards, the song brings back some wonderfull memories of a time that could never be lived again, when the olds enjoyed music like this, and this song is still around and still been played and heard but the olds that use to hear and sing to this have all now passed on,
I saw Cliff at the Apollo Manchester in the eighties with my late sister, at the time my sister had H.D. She had been in love with cliff since before I was born and this song was her favourite. When we saw him we went to the stage and were almost close enough to touch Cliff. The smile on my sisters face will stay with me forever. She was so happy that night.
RIP Jackie I miss you so much, and these miss you nights are the longest.
I heard this song on the radio for the first tie in years. I used to listen to it on a cassette tape, with my mother. She passed away in March 2005 through lung cancer. age 60. I miss her so much.

CornCob, don't feel too badly. Why do we men bother? You give, & you give, sigh....
is it possible he stayed in the closet due to the sheer amount of women who worship him buy records and make him a very rich man,,??? Just think of all that muff he could have had !! =]
Cliff fact 2430: The nights Cliff is referring to in this song is actually the Knights of the Round Table "This goes out to those great men of the past, who protected our King and served our country" says Sir Cliff "Those great men, who used every sinew to protect people, pushed their muscular bodies to the limit over and over again, who had such amazing swords........ excuse me I just have to go to the toilet" He adds.
I love this song by Cliff Richard, "Miss You Nights" is fantastic and so is he. Sara
