Ya you don't need a bike that cost a ton of money. Matter fact those expensive bikes sometimes feel way too light, especially for someone starting out. I think the most important things are the entire wheel, not just the tire but also the rim (very straight) and a good hub.
@vijuel I'm glad that is the case. This took two cameras & about four hours videotaping. then I spent about six hours editing & subtitling it. That's a lot of work for a few minutes of video. It's really disappointing when you don't get many hits.
@donachix dude if u love flatland u ride with what u got i got 35 pounds and i still ride my bike it really good well am good but cousin has the knew dk opsis bike flatland whis is fucking light i love it but what i got is what i got
@ikechun14 right, dude. i don't have a real flatland bike but i still ride everyday. i love flatland, even though it can get frustrating sometimes. lol.
cool video,im 44 and have been in love with bmx flatland since 1980 and do still ride, although my body isnt what it used to be LOL,anyways im real happy to see all these young new rider's keepin it alive....someday FLATLAND WILL GET THE RESPECT IT DESERVES.
(bullshit) WARNING DO NOT READ THIS! In 1875 died a little girl named Hioshia in Japan. Her father drowned her in a well and disappeared since then but was killed 12 hours later by the girl's ghost. Now you have read this and if you do not spread it to at least 3 video in 3 hours, the girl's ghost and kill you at midnight.
i think same for me, spring just started so i'm riding for 4 days so far :P i'm just 4months 26 days away from u :P i used to ride a lot before, but until i started watching tutorials of do it good is going better and faster, things that i couldn't do hmm Never! is getting easier :) now :)
Hmm... My Bike cost me about £1100($1900)and its just an average bike, but then again I live in the U.K. which is the highest taxed country on the planet so you could buy my bike in the U.S. for like $500. Depends on many socio/economic factors really. Nice vid, cool guy, but get some cranks on that thing man. Peace.
can u do a lot of tricks? i'm asking coz i started like a few days ago (i mean the fork glide is almost complete :) ) and i'm asking coz i wanna know around how much time takes to do some kinda of tricks ;)
don't worry about how long it takes, it will take a different time for each person. to do a complete ride in and ride out fork glide it took me like 3-4 weeks.
ohh yeah i understand that for different ppl take different times, but you know i'm almost in the age of getting a job with my dyplom and soon i might not have the time as i do now, so i wanted to know if flatland (which i love it so much) will be in some way not slooooow to learn, i know is hard, but i don't wanna ride for 10 years for know one trick, but i got now ur answer so i guess i have an idea of how much could take to me(i ride a lot so i hope it will be fine :P)
after about 2-3 years you could be riding some impressive tricks. right now i've been riding for just under a year, and i'm learning backwards halfhikers, mccircles, and megaspins, and if winter hadn't robbed me of my riding area i would probably be able to do at least one of those tricks by now.
and i wanted to ask you sth more but i run out of characters remaining in the last comment :P, do u consider flatland the hardest area in bmx's sports? i heard it one time, i mean not that if u know it u can do the other very easy, but in the meaning of that is the one that takes longer to learn the tricks, is that right or no so much?
there are difficult parts of every discipline of bmx, but flatland, from a PURELY technical standpoint it is undoubtedly the hardest discipline. it takes a lot of drilling and technique to learn tricks as well as a lot of ingenuity and expression to put together good links with style.
ohhh thxs for the reply :), i don't know why but i wrote one comment and it never appeared :( i checked ur tricks on youtube, coz i don't know by their names, maybe just the megaspin, damn u r learning really cool tricks :) i can't wait for impress someday myself :P coz so far i can do the ride in of the fork glide and i'm so happy, is like an inside happyness,i guess u got the same so u know what i mean ^^ btw how old r u?
haha i don't have any videos...but yeah i know what you mean, each new trick you can land makes you happy. i'm only 16 but i've been riding for about just 4 months under 1 year!
ohh young blood:P being at ur age is cool, coz i dont' know...now that i'm more in flatland is kinda late,i'm almost 22 as u see u have the change to be a pro in 6 years, when i will say that i just learned a fork glide at that age:P i'm trying now the ride out of the fork glide,it's hard, coz when i jump (and i do it falling over the pegs soft) i make it almost a side-fall with me in first and behind the bike, damn almost i die:P might u help me in some future when i will have questions about F?:D
btw one curiosity question, when u practice do you try just one trick at the time, i mean until u learn it with the ride in and ride out for go to the next trick, or you try like different?? coz i think i'm going lineal and that is bad, will be going slow and i get bored fast one day doing the same...i think i should change every once in a while :P
ummm i spend about 1/3 of my riding time each day on tricks i can already do to warm up, then i work the rest of the time on 1-2 tricks that i can't do.
hy i am from serbia....i build and ride bmx..i love them....but i want to know something....is this for older or younger guys?because, this guy on the video is 25 years old.....i am 19....

My WalMart mongoose doesnt really do any justice. their bikes look to have more room and different structure. My Wal-Mart Mongoose doesn't do any justice.
this video is great!!! im from the philippines and i ride bmx... i assemble my bike from one piece to another... and flatland here is growing... but bmx parts here is more expensive coz we have to import it from other country... you guys are lucky coz u can buy it anywhere in ur place...
Thank you for the positive feedback. I knew this video would not get that many hits but, to me, it was "important" because I felt I was endorsing something in the field of "art" that was totally new.
very good video. i liked it.
