Vince will always be able to dunk well even in a couple of years- he's got a massive seven foot wingspan which means he only needs to jump 13" to touch the hoop. If his current vert is 30" - 35" (down from 44"+), that still puts the top of his hand almost two feet over the basket on his biggest jumps. He's just got it like that.
Yeah, probably his max vert is around 36, but regular jumps are lower (24-30). Too bad he gave up on strong weightlifting, cause he could be back if he chose to do it. The risk of injury is probably too great to attempt heavy lifting again, I guess.
He actually jumps higher than when he was younger. When you work out as much as they do, you no longer need to jump as high to throw down powerful dunks. You then have the ability to depend on your hangtime instead of height while dunking. Besides, when you get in your mid-30's you realize your legs start 2 become a little bit weaker so you back off a little bit from those skying dunks!

He still does it during shootaround and other events, but as mentioned he's 32 years old and playing for Stan Van Gundy. Don't really expect him to do it during a game.

Michael Jordan does have a 5" vertical higher than VC, but the actual dunks do not compare. VC has always been more creative and more explosive at the rim.

@Slamwoo93 It's impossible for someone with the same vert to have more hangtime. That's intro physics. Once the player leaves the ground the only appreciable force acting on that player in the downward force of gravity. Nothing else.

wrong, weight does not matter when u drop a pen or a ball at the same time at the same height, they come down and hit the ground at the same time. The only thing that can make something seem like its falling slowly is air resistance.this could only be applied to feathers and such (light weight stuff).

dude, just look it up. Jordan's vertical was higher than VCs. VC still pulled better moves/dunks, but it's a fact that Jordan's vertical was higher than Vince's.

I've never seen MJ pull of a 360 Reverse Windmill in his second year in the NBA. VC did.

32 is still young. its a psychological effect for everyone that if you reach the digit '3' you're old. i mean look at kobe. everyone is speculating that his game will fall off when he was 29 and about to reach his 30. you'll feel your legs are old when you are in your 38's. especially when you are a PRO athlete like them. not taking anything away from VC here. he's still the BEST dunker (even better and higher than MJ).

Vince will always be able to dunk well even in a couple of years- he's got a massive seven foot wingspan which means he only needs to jump 13" to touch the hoop. If his current vert is 30" - 35" (down from 44"+), that still puts the top of his hand almost two feet over the basket on his biggest jumps. He's just got it like that.

Yeah, probably his max vert is around 36, but regular jumps are lower (24-30). Too bad he gave up on strong weightlifting, cause he could be back if he chose to do it. The risk of injury is probably too great to attempt heavy lifting again, I guess.

He actually jumps higher than when he was younger. When you work out as much as they do, you no longer need to jump as high to throw down powerful dunks. You then have the ability to depend on your hangtime instead of height while dunking. Besides, when you get in your mid-30's you realize your legs start 2 become a little bit weaker so you back off a little bit from those skying dunks!
