  • Man, almost made me cry seeing those mechanical-keyswitch keyboards in the trash heap. :( Those things last for-freaking-ever. Still trying to get my hands on one!

  • @SigEpBlue I love those old keyboards too. Most people dont care about vintage computing, so most just discard it. Lots of Youtube vids show hoodlums destroying these old gems.

  • Anyone do Scrap4treasure? Would love to share experiences. I'm finding gold and silver scrap where I never knew it existed. My gmail address is jhoag53g.

  • I use my computer to replace a tv,radio, music system, for the most part my cellphone, home studio, gaming console, and even my radiator in some occasions.

Plus i buy most of my computer hardware second hand.

The problem with most people is that they need everything but don't use it when its there.

  • Dont forget! Theres gold in them thar hills!

Whos getting the bling from all those comps? Its not a lot in each one but I bet it adds up! And I bet the poor people in the 3rd world nations we send our old comps to, to be broken down dont see a dime of it!

  • I wonder? Where do TV and monitor tubes go. I know there are lots of toxins like mercury, lead, and cadium; those are very dangerous chemicals(Where do you guys dump these tubes. It is the most serious environmental problem in the world). I saw your video break down computer parts those kind of things anyone can recycle, reuse and which everyone can do, let me know where you guys dump the tubes.

  • We deal with an ISO 14001 registered glass to lead processor domestically. All of the glass and lead material from the tubes get recycled 100%. We understand the importance of recycling all of the materials. We appreciate your inquiry.

  • reduce, reduce, reduce. Obsolescence must die!

  • I own a 2001-era Sony Vaio desktop P3 and a Dell DImesnion P2 from late 1999, and they STILL WORK!!! Sheesh, most ppl throw out a comp if the CD drive dies!

  • Oregon is now banning electronics starting 1-1-10
