  • wow, bad vocals. and i love john bush, i think he's an even better singer than phil

  • audio quality sucks but f*** yeah, Pantera cover!!

  • think of anselmo as an anthrax vocalist! wow!

  • when in doubt yank on that whammy bar and squeal the shit out of it.

  • Dime left some mighty damned big Converse Chuck Taylors to fill.

  • poor solo.

  • @JACKWRIGHTISBORED 6th member of anthrax? tell me more

  • @Nuthzable Dimebag played several times with Anthrax, on studio and live, they were great friends.

  • In flames do a pretty good job!

  • @smuck06 fuck you poser walk sucks ass fag

  • @dime4life99 Walk doesnt suck ass? lol it is good when its played by pantera. I dont think i have actually seen a cover of walk that iv liked.

  • @wadellz so fucking true man! every band that covers walk sounds like shit

  • did any of you faggots ever listen to that cover? They fucking NAILED it, I know it's not pantera but that doesn't mean it sucks.

  • @smuck06 NO

  • Fuck those avanged fags that sucked asshole doing the cover for walk!

  • lots of bands cover pantera, like anthrax, godsmack, sevendust, etc

  • @alex08648 dont forget A7X

  • @DylanMan6 no he forgot it for a reason

  • I agree. Pantera had very unique qualities. Dimebag, Phil, Vince, and Rex all had "out-there" styles, nothing like anything else at the time. That's why their music isn't dead yet. Because it's in our blood. We are Pantera.

  • ♀♪♪♫►☼◄↕‼‼‼‼‼‼‼☺◘↨↑↓→←∟↔

However it's a pleasant surprise to see Anthrax performing Pantera's song.

  • Solo sucked shit. But it cool.

  • They gotta, if one of the members slips on it, it's his ass.

  • come back soon Anthrax!!! u rule the shit out.

  • is scott crying in the end of the video?

    so emotive

    R.I.P. Dimebag

  • i dont think so man...

  • no he wasnt crying he was whiping the sweat off of his face but him and Dime were good friends and if he wants to cry for a lost friend he has the right to.

  • nice cover for a perfect metal sound

  • Solid Effort

  • In flames???? Gay!

  • he sing bad..XD

  • Ke venga METALLICA y MINISTRY caraxoooo!

  • tom araya would be good for this one

  • as much as i respect john bush as a vocalist, i don't think his voice suits this song :/ it's not gritty enough. but then again, who can match up to the mighty anselmo?

  • only one i know of and that is Chad Grey, he is really the only one that comes close

  • duno man i saw machine head a while back n they did domination n i was like oh no.... but he sounded fucking insainly gd!

  • ..yeah this is a tribute to dime... as done by anthrax... and it is sposed to sound different... goddamn we are coming up on DIMES anniversary... may he rest in peace..

  • meh, 2 great bands, awsome song... nothin realy to complain about...

  • no one can make that voice but i think that Anders Fridén from In Flames did a great job on their live cover.

  • @AtTheApostasy Nergal could :P

  • @iShred1990 haha in all respect for nergal, he is awesome, but even he couldn't^^

  • @AtTheApostasy Chuck Billy from Testament..........Sort of......

  • @wavpe09 Perfecto!!

  • John Bush Sing

  • That show was amazing!!

  • What they got differnent band singing this song? Its a good song anyways

  • That solo is why I dont play Pantera covers. You cant fake Dime's signature man..

    Pantera rulez!

  • although you can mimic it 100% (exc. the solo)

  • thats it the lead guitarist ruined the solo bloody awfull

  • @Devilsleftnut1976 i can im his reencarnation hahaha

  • @Devilsleftnut1976 anyone can play the guitar but you need to cover phil dumbass phil is pantera

  • @Devilsleftnut1976 my guitar laughed at me, then beat me for trying.

  • @Devilsleftnut1976

Still important to keep Pantera alive. I prefer Anthrax over Dreamtheater and Avenged Sevenfold....

  • After seeing In Flames' partial cover of this... I just can't deal with other covers. They annihilated this song.

  • Totally agree, they owned it.

  • PanterA does it better. Hands down, I dont care if they're your favorite band.

  • I agree on that one too ._. But as a cover Flames's version is unwinnable

  • you know i saw in flames play with children of bodom and megadeth and i was up close (within 5 people from the barrier) and i was genuinely not impressed.

they bored me, i was yawning.

  • Heh, now lets think how does this have anything to do with the Fucking Hostile -cover

  • hahahahahahaha

  • well it has to do with the band itself, which i thought was terribly boring.

anthrax is tight though ive met scott ian a couple times

  • ke voz para mas hasta el pincho.

  • In my opinion, i think his vocals add a little something different to the song, yeah, Phil was better, obviously, but, this version is not by any means bad. I've always looked at covers as kind of paying tribute. If you want hear the original, then go listen to it, but I dont think theres anything wrong with bringing your own spin on something to the table.

  • man the voice just doesnt suit the song..

with phil it was pure aggression like but with this it's too much actual singing.

  • The solo was kind of sloppy...

  • fuck the solo is sucks buuuuuuuuuu

  • dude you cant judge a band by how many people they play for. what a douche.

  • Too bad your spelling and grammar don't make "sence".

I'm appalled by how narrow-minded and how little respect some people on here have for bands that pioneered and helped build a sound and scene. It seems that Pantera and Slipknot fans act as if metal didn't exist previously. Album sales or no album sales, Pantera would never have been signed to a major if not for the "low selling" thrash and underground bands that preceded them. Time to get out of your tiny boxes.

  • habla ps chileno roto d mierda...aqui el unico culeado eres tu y tu mama.

  • Whatever, dude... when I first heard Pantera, I thought they sounded like Anthrax. Dimebag even played on three of their albums. I'm sure it was out of respect and an honor to contribute to a band that he grew up with and loved, not to mention become friends with them. I'm pretty sure that considering the date of this clip, it was in honor of their departed friend.

  • you thoght Pantera sounded like Anthrax? *lol* in the 80's Anthrax had an original sound, "Sound Of White Noise" still had an original sound, with Stomp 442 they tried to sound like Pantera for the first time.

"an honor to contribute to a band that he grew up with and loved" Pantera and Anthrax, both bands were formed in 1981 and their debut albums were released in '83, when Dimebag contributed to an Anthrax-album for the first time, Pantera was a much bigger name in the business than Anthrax.

  • Perhaps over time, but when "Cowboys" came out, they were little known, and most metalheads back then thought they were just another thrash band. I don't know where you get your history, but Pantera spent most of the 80s as a glam/power metal band. A lot of bands went for a "heavier" sound when Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer, Overkill, Testament, and the like were getting attention.

  • Agreed. Pantera may have had a more technically proficient guitar player in Dimebag, but when it comes to songwriting, Anthrax beats them hands down. The bulk of Pantera's stuff comes off as hot air in the end.

  • Hmmm ...and that's why Pantera had a #1 album in 94'(something Anthrax NEVER came close to) They WERE the biggest Metal band of the

1990's AND they had to take Anthrax out on tour around 97-98' just to try to keep them alive cause their own label at the time (Elektra) turned their back on them. "If it wasn't for Pantera flying that flag in the

90's the whole (metal) thing could have died." And that's a direct quote from Ian himself.

  • sepultura was bigger, not better seller. a number one albums does not means you are better. or madonna is better than vio-lence? :S

megadeth where biggers in the 90's, pantera just have 3 REAL good albums, in almost 20 years! anthrax are a good band since early 80's. pantera was popular, when the glam was dying pantera become a metal band :S when the glam was hot anthrax where THRASH!! who is better?

  • OK,the fact that you are bringing Madonna to a Pantera/Anthrax debate immediately cancels you out. Pantera got #1 with NO airplay and, or mainstream coverage & at a time when Grunge took over. And where do you get 20 yrs!? Don't tell me you are so desperate that you have to bring in albums that they made when they were 15! Pantera was NOT Glam. They dressed it, but They NEVER sounded like Poison or Cinderella. They were hard rock and like all their albums they just got heavier with each one.

  • And considering that Glam died out about the time of their #1 release...I don't think that's when they decided to become metal. Anyway, I'm not saying Anthrax is shit. I'm just saying that individually they never had the writing, skills, and overall impact that Pantera did. The proof is in the history and Ian himself has attested to it! Who is better?

  • it's true but i still like anthrax lol

  • Absolutely, NOBODY can take anything away from Anthrax!

  • negtype you are my hero of the day!

  • Thank you...thank you very much! HAHA

  • good call neg !! only time, anthrax was worth a shit, was the john bush years. then ian, pulled a gene simmons, & rest is history. hypothetically, IF, anthrax was truly a better band, then how come, Pantera did'nt cover them ?? great cover though !!

  • A gene simmons.. I like that! Yeah, the guy has stated it himself and people are getting all bent out of shape. These are the facts! haha!

  • A number one album makes a better band? Then in that case, Green Day is better than the Sex Pistols? Sorry, I'll take the Pistols any day. Pantera may have been "flying the flag" to keep metal alive on their home turf, but that goes to show how the climate of American popular music was going at the time. In the meantime, metal was flourishing and evolving across the rest of the world and selling quite well... far from dead.

  • No, the point of the #1 album was to show how good they were to get there with ABSOLUTELY NO radio play and, or mainstream coverage and,to make things even harder, it was right in the middle of the Grunge explosion. I don't think Green Day or the Pistols can say that.

  • Idiot

  • that is a post from someone who think a redneck band is better than one of the big four ? :S

  • \m/ pantera!

  • lol who the fuck are you?

  • my rasist-ometer is buzzing

  • for FUCKIN' INFORMATION Ian Scott said that the gig did in Lima was his 5 top of all of time...fuckin bastard!

  • quien te crees tu reconchadetumare para hablar asi de mi peru, hijo de la gran puta, no tienes la minima idea de las enormes bandas que tocan acá, anda cachate a tu hermana y tu vieja

  • Go suck a fucking cock you son of a bitch motherfucker, my peruvian proud will smash your balls.

  • It's making ME fucking hostile that they don't still have John Bush on vocals. That ruled. I saw them live 7 times during the WCFYA era and they never disappointed.

  • Good job!

  • scum mate need rid of the false metal like A7x

  • FUCK AVENGED SEVENFOLD!

  • great cover, the singer gets the job done better than phil,

  • Jesus stop with this lame bullshit

  • LOL you aren't serious right ?

  • you guys think im trolling and shit, but im not. most people that come here actually never seen phil live, man i think hes great and all, but in live shows his not that good, am i the only one with enough that isnt too blindfolded to see that? for god sake just go watch a show or two instead of lurking in youtube all the time guys

  • you quite funny mate, i ve seen Pantera live in 1998.

Phil sings on a quite hardcore way.. the singer of anthrax is doing some emo shit quite heavy.. it sucks man pantera is not heavy..

  • botch061502 Dude your right the fuck on Q everyone that says "OH I LOVE PANTERA" thats the only song they think of and most of them dont know the fucking name they call it RESPECT ha fucking Posers!! hey at least we know they have one good song in there inventory of music!! CFH

  • yeah fuck that shit. im sick of the llgacy of Pantera being constanty being tainted by these fuck wits who claim to like Pantera just because Dime died and they heard Walk on the radio. dont get me wrong Walk is a good song but fuck there are so many better ones. Floods, Shedding Skin, Slaughtered,Rise, Domination.

  • floods has one of if not the best solos and outros ever...revolution is my name is good as well.

  • flodds hands down is easily in the top 3 best solos ever written

  • Yesssss

    So much emotion

  • u say ur a pantera fan and the only song u think is good is CFH. ur a fuckin poser i seen pantera live and ive been listining to them since i could remember. but u are right tho ever since dime died they got 4x more popular

  • Only if you're a fucking idiot...

  • its good to see someone covering a Pantera song other than Walk

  • i just commented the exact same thing on in flames cover

  • good cuz its the truth man. dont get me wrong Walk was a good song but thats the poser Pantera song. people claim to like Pantera but thats the only song they know

  • In Flames cover is much better!

  • musically this cover is really well executed, but the vocals suck...

  • really good cover

  • Ese concert fue de la csm

  • omg the solo killed my ears, but everything else was great. I like this better than the In Flames cover.

  • yes a great band covering another great band!!!! awesome shit!!

  • YO ESTUVE AHI.

  • sounds good but it looks so lame

  • In Flames has a good cover as well of this song, nice video and song btw

  • I don't personally like the in flames cover just because they leave out the solo. Its really not that hard of a solo compared to dime's other songs

  • one of the only disent pantera covers i've seen i love anthrax

  • Fucking amazing performance, great cover.

  • Great!!

  • bien putamare

  • I believe so. I liked this line up. John and Rob got screwed.

  • God he's the man!! Anthrax won't be the same without Bush!

  • John Bush ftw

  • Holy shit that is badass. Isn't that John's last show with them? This is the prime example why they NEED John back.
