excellent and im glade you touched on the other details ps a bit of advice on how too check if the needle is worn and keeping it clean would be helpful thanks i ove orts the are good
Checking if your stylus is worn: - Your know when its time to replace your stylus needle when the sound quality starts dropping off i.e. sounds distorted and/or muffled, stylus needle pops and cracks all the time, sound frequencies sound shot and very harsh etc. Best to replace your needles when that happens to reduce and prevent severe record damage and wear.
Keeping your stylus clean: - There loads of different stylus cleaning product out on the dj market, these range from tiny brushes, specialise stylus cleaning fluid etc. Most pro dj cartridges came with a free stylus cleaning brush, clean mine Shure M-447's about one a week with the free stylus cleaning brush it came with. If your regularly clean your stylus and records, your stylus needles will last longer, had my Shure M-447's for over 3 years and yet to replace my styli needles.
A) Brand new scratch cartridges need to be broken in, before they become efficient, just place your needle on the record for a couple of hours a day and gravity do its job
B) New scratch vinyl needs to be played a few times before you start scratching to get the needle to widen the grooves and prevent skipping (I play each side 5 times before i start scratching)
C) Centre holes will need to be tight for extra stability. Loose centre holes will make your tonearm wobble and possibly cause excess skipping during scratching.
If you need any advice or help about turntablism, send me a message. Always willing to share my knowledge and advice about the turntablism artform and culture :-)
The pink ortofon scratch concordes are designed purely and mainly for scratching with, sure the blue ortofon concordes can be used to scratch with, but are not designed for heavy scratching. The pink ortofon scratch concordes will take a thrashing without a problem, the blue ortofon concordes will possibly not cope with such a thrashing.
Not a problem, there is a DJ Qbert ortofon concorde scratch cartridge which runs a 3 grams of tracking force and is a bit better then the pink ortofon scratch concordes, but pricey (£170-200 a pair) Also check out the shure M-447 as well. Best bet would be to use google and research about the different scratch cartridges available before you make a choice.
Yeah thats cool subscribe and add me. Will be purchasing a new camcorder soon, hopefully i post some turntablism tutorials up etc. Sure i check your youtube channel out my friend :-)

Which is the better general all round stylus between Concord Scratch & Shure M44G?
The Shures use less tracking weight @ 0.75 to 1.5g, Output 6.2mv, Freq 20 to 19,000 hz
The Concord 3 to 5g, Output 7 mv, Freq 20 to 20,000 hz
Im more concerned with audio quality & less record wear than full on scratch handling, can I also add the M44-7 (N44-7) stylus to the M44g (N44g)?

Just to add on this, i recommend the following.
