  • Too Smooth at The Too Bitter. High times in San Marcos.

  • That was a great show at the Ritz in Corpus November 75 . Too Smooth kicked ass .

I didn't see how Rory Gallagher was going to compare . But then I didn't know Rory and his band . Rory Gallagher smoked that night . I was 20 ft. away and Too Smooth did not blow Rory or his band away .

  • @TheDennisod Saw Rory. Real good. Peace.

  • Saw them open for Rory Gallagher in Corpus ,,,Ritz theater Thanksgiving 75

Then at Mother Earth in Austin . Glad to see this on Youtube .

  • Too Smooth!!! Too Cool!!!!!!!!!

  • I graduated from Southwest Texas State in 1979 and used to see Too Smooth all the time at several clubs, but mostly at "Too Bitter" in San Marcos. They were my favorite band that played there quite often. Brings back great memories.

  • Hey Too Smooth fans, the boys are playing one night only in Austin on January 18,2009. Go to w w w . t o o s m o o t h b a n d . c o m (remove spaces)for details. This gig celebrates the release of the long-awaited DVD Rockumentary on Too Smooth by Texas Music Cafe, and will be shown at the show. Don't miss it!

  • My very first concert was on autitorium shores on a hot weds night rocken with Too Smooth

  • Still makes me smile inside and out! Thank you guys for everything - all the wonderful memories, both old and new!!!

All my Too Smooth love :)!

  • Too Smooth played Dallas clubs, back when Gerties, Mother Blues were booming and all going strong. The good ole days with Too Smooth, Werewolves, Roscoe, Freddie King what great times those were.

  • Man, my life seems to have come full circle having seen these videos nearly 30 years later. These guys use to tear it up down here around Corpus Christi. I remember them blowing Rory Gallagher off stage at The Ritz Music Hall way back in the day. Far freaking out man. just way cool

  • i was i fish at swt and saw them tear it up at the too bitter, what a great time for texas music never understood why these guys didn't break out and still don't, fools got a deal, chris cross as his frat band was called, eric johnson, anyway brian and gang i hope you guys are good and still rock!!!

  • Man, this is a surprise. I used to do photography for this band. Wasn't the whiskey box actually called Whiskey River? I used to see Lynne Groom there a lot. Anyway, Too Smooth was great. Brian had that chewed up guitar from the metal pick he used. They were good guys, too.

  • I'd see Too Smooth, the Fools with VanWilks and Randy Ward, and Lighting at Mother Earth on Lamar Blvd. Inpiring bands, cool light show. Had to borrow and older friends draft card to get in.

  • I went to high school with Brian Wooten - he and his band used to practice down the street from my house and they played at my high school youth center.

  • So cool to see Brian Wooten in his pre- White Heart days! What a cool and original player!!!

    Bill Compeau-Ark Amps

  • This is awesome. I was Too Smooths fan club president and never missed their show at the Armadillo!

  • oh man.. the solo made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Magic stuff. Where was this shot, look at all the empty tables up front. What a contrast to the renunion shows where the Saxon was packed and people lined up out the door waiting to get in.

  • The Whiskey Box was a long "shotgun" style room where the bands set up along the long wall. The best seats were directly across from the band in an elavated section that was about 20 feet away. You didn't sit up front unless you had to. Also around this time, there were some pretty impressive players around Dallas who were playing for the door; SRV, Bugs Henderson, Rocky Athas, Smokin'Joe Kubek, David Skinner, Eric Johnson just to name a few.

  • Rocky Athas? Didn't he play a lot of harmonics point in the air with his finger while they sustained? ha. Man, the internet has opened up a whole new generation to Too Smooth. I am so very happy- hope the band is as well.

  • Rocky had his schtick, but Lighting was a good bar band. My point was that there was lots of good competiton for your music dollar at that time. I didn't even get into Pyramid or Mother of Pearl. Freddy King was playing in small clubs in Dallas just weeks before he died. I'm not dissing Too Smooth in any way. They kicked butt. Just trying to illustrate why folks might not have been hanging from the rafters.

  • These videos are great. Keep them coming.

  • I was a big fan of too smooth in the 70's, you guys were great, thanks for posting this.

  • This is TOO COOL !! thanks for the memories...

  • Really great! Thanks
