  • doesn't work on mac for me :(

  • @EminemRulezXD Its not your mac its your farm. 1. Are you sure youre in a slime chunk? 2. Is it 4 blocks high (ideal for all slime sizes for max slime spawn rate) 3. are your water flows right 4. are you far enough you have to be 24 blocks away but they will immediately despawn if you go further then 144 or something and they will stop spawning once youre within 24 blocks.

  • DIAMONDS! 03:26

  • nice singleplayer comands now lets see what there spawn raghts rilly are

  • Thumbs this up so people know they can spawn at layer 40 and below now!

  • Also if you had a 2x2 of slime chunks and were in creative, can you make them all flow to the center and drop them then bring out under the trap ?

  • Im gonna try this as an xp farm. Any suggestions for a "mob softener"

  • This model works very well in SSP, but in SMP, slimes are pretty glitchy. They like to jump around and get stuck in blocks, especially once they get into the water or hit a wall. Some of them make it to my collection area, but somehow the drops glitch out and I can't pick them up. Still looking for a solution other than running in and hitting them with swords.

  • @SujanraAcoma Well, in my experience, slimes behave the same in SMP. However, there are synchronization issues leading to slimes being rendered in the wrong location client-side (eg on the ceiling instead of in the water). But this shouldn't concern your farm as everything happens automatically. So if there's a glitch leading to slimes getting stuck, I think it's in your farm.

  • @SujanraAcoma Quick addition: As slimes can't move in water like other mobs, it's essential that your water streams are flawless. Most importantly, they should always flow in the right direction and never be higher than one (except for drowners). I even used drops to change direction and avoid diagonal streams as these sometimes caused multiple slimes to get stuck. And remember that the movement you see in SMP can be misleading. Youll see what I mean if you test it in SP.

  • it dont work in 1.1

  • I've built a farmer very similar to this one, though I used fence gates instead of signs (less wood needed). I realize they weren't out when this video made, but just thought I'd offer the suggestion to others who may not have thought of it.

  • @jheic09 hit Fn (next to control) while hitting F3

  • I have a macbook so F3 doesn't do anything!

  • I dont have the "Slimes: Yes" or "Slimes: No" display on my f3 :s

  • @MEnMAgunz read before crying.

  • @MrDirective Was I really crying? I was simply and polity asking a question and then you probably came back from getting beat up at school and decided to rage on the internet. Nobody wants you here.

  • I have tryed to get slimes for like weeks and yesterday i got 26 slimeballs. Try to dig a tunnel 30 away from the spawner room and just stand there for an hour

  • that's very nice but i have one problem: if i want to use the slime finder and want to select the world where it needs to search, i look into the folder "saves" but it's empty. i don't find any of my worlds in it. does somebody know why? or do i need to search in another folder to select my world?

  • i found a chunk where slimes spawn from lvl 40 downwards how do i make them spawn in there though

  • dude. wtf.

  • Very nice video. I've done my fair share of slime farms and this is probably one of the best ones out there

  • ok so i try and get my seed from my folders (on mac) and i can't find it , so i try manually and it doesn't find a thing ?? i triple check it to make sure its right and i can't get it to work , please help

  • How far away do I have to be before Slimes start spawning?

  • @smallsemple1 try 25 blocks away

  • wat is the name of the song at 6:00

  • What is the best height to building one of these farms? i mean does it matter if it is eg: y = 40 or y = 16 please reply i dont want to dig out a whole area just for nothing! ;)

  • @MultiPixal There's no difference in spawning rate. Starting higher means you're far less likely to run into lava. Also, you can have your collection point higher without building an elevator (which will also increase the efficiency slightly, because slimes will be killed faster). However, the disadvantage of building it higher is that you can't expand it to the top afterwards.

  • @micromancero do you know if mcslimes appspot works for 1.1? because it doesn't work for me!

  • @fuckerikbockenstette i haven't tested it in game yet, but it seems that the code wasn't changed. did it work for you before?

  • @micromancero yes it worked before, but now i am seeing just a huge block of green or white instead of a grid-pattern no matter what coords i give.

  • @fuckerikbockenstette you must increase the distance. by default it will only show a single chunk.

  • @fuckerikbockenstette If you install Rei's minimap mod, there's a setting to show slime chunks.

  • @SujanraAcoma but i dont want a mod... i just want it work like before the update. i would go on the website and type my cords in and it showed me which chunks were slimes

  • hey I downloaded the map and only slime spawner work, no slimes on other pads!

  • I would farm them the old fashioned way, wooden sword ftw!!!!

  • Misa's realistic HD texture pack is not a mod as it says in the description:

    Mods used in this video

    blah blah blah,

    Misa's realistic HD texture pack

    :o your funny :)

  • @MrMarkando Well, strictly speaking it is. Obviously, a mod is a modification of the game, which may include modified textures. However, to tell the truth, I was too lazy to add another title ;)

  • @MrMarkando Sense "mod" is short for "modification", a texture pack classify's as a mod because, it modify's what things look like.

  • hey do they also spawn on the block 40 ? because if i go lower i will have problems with the 40block mob movement limit

  • @Noi5ee to be exactly, they spawn up to level 39 (air block they spawn inside, not the ground block they spawn on top of). So since player eye height is 1.7 (or so), whenever your f3-y coordinate shows ~40.7 you're standing on the topmost block level they can spawn on.

  • hey, that music was pretty cool

  • How can i know how deep down they are?

  • Very well made, I will be making this soon!

  • best music i've heard on a youtube clip like this ever.

  • IT'S FUCKING AWESOME!

  • Huh, Good job David! Lol. I'm going to ask you some questions in pm.

  • I am not worthy . I am not worthy . I am not worthy :P My ... Master

  • Almost 100000 Vieuws :D

  • love your taste of music !!!!

  • nice,thanks Awsome shit ;D

  • can slimes spawn on glowstone?

  • @realcelestialphoenix Pre 1.0.0 they could, but I'm not sure anymore. I think they don't.

Keep in mind though, that although slimes can spawn in torches, it indirectly slows the spawning speed for blocks around that torch, too. So even if they don't spawn on glowstone anymore, it's still not clear whether to prefer torches over glowstone. I think it should be roughly equal.

  • @micromancero Yes they don't now. Because glowstone is now a transparent block.

  • misa's owns

  • Song?

  • Does this work on MineCraft Multiplayer?

  • @Drainal123 yes

  • Comment removed

  • fucking genius bruh :P

  • What you know bout' having diamonds in your farm HATER!

  • does this work in smp

  • that darn notch should just make slimes spawn like hostile mobs....

  • Great vid with tons of slime killing ideas - cheers mate ;)

  • thanks got 16 diamonds when digging out 2 chunks

  • Dude NO slime spawned in my chunk

  • 0:48 ur on the friggin moon!

  • Didnt really care for the vid, but the second song was fucking awesome!

  • QUESTION

how far do you need to be for the slimes to spawn? like 20 blocks or so? because my farm dosent spawn many slimes also im on a server dose that affect it?

  • @rainfop I think it's 24m +/- 1

Spawning in natural worlds is very very slow (about 1 slime every few hours for each 16x16 floor). As long as you're alone on the server it's the same as playing Singleplayer. However, if there are several people online, lighting up caves around your spawner (which is the only way to get decent spawns like in the video) won't have much of an effect.

  • @micromancero I got 18 slimes in 3 minecraft days with this techinique thanks

  • Comment removed

  • @micromancero

    I may sound a bit stupid,but...

Can slimes spawn on peaceful mode?

Do the slimes spawn on a certain height (Y) or on all heights as long as there's something under them?

  • @SergeantIrish Slimes will not spawn on peaceful, but they will remain if you switch your difficulty from a higher one to peaceful, unlike other mobs which will disappear.

Slimes used to spawn only at level 16 or lower pre 1.0.0, but now it is around 40 or lower (I'm not sure of the exact details yet).

  • @SergeantIrish Forgot to add, they will also only spawn in certain chunks (16x16 block areas) and the algorithm for which chunks are slime-friendly is random. You'll have to either do some experimenting to find a slime friendly chunk, or use the Minecraft Slime Finder (first link if you Google it).

  • @micromancero really 1 slime per hour? hmm. Do they (in 1.0.0) acctually spawn on a floor at 40.6 or only at 39.6

  • @Noi5ee Not sure where I said that, but yeah, it can be pretty slow if hostiles can spawn elsewhere in your world (but still enough if you just need to cover some sticky piston supplies). 1.0.0 allows you to build much bigger farms. I think it won't make up for a lot though.

As I said in my previous comment, theyll spawn on 40.6 (your F3)

  • @micromancero oh and would being 25 blocks higher also work?

  • @Noi5ee No, 40.6 is the highest level they can spawn on.

  • When the server I mostly use is back online, I will really start building one :) preferable with the looting on surface, so no-one have the watch the machanism and it will look like magic ^^

Extra question: how deep must a single fall go to instantly kill a small slime?

  • @PineNimba As mentioned at around 11:15 they have to fall at least 4 blocks (or 3 when they're jumping). They only have 1 HP, so taking damage = death.

  • @micromancero

thnx for quick reaction! :) *huggs*

  • I can't reach this fucking slimes!

  • Hey

I have the slimes coming up to the surface and use the 2 pistons to make em drop their items in a water channel.

Now my problem is that the slime balls spread like wild, even fly through glass around the droppoint and only a small amount actually lands in the water.

Is there a way to make them all drop in the water?

  • @dafruechtetee I think there may be some clientside-only display errors in a setup like this, but eventually all the items should land in the water.

If you used the clock I showed, make sure to have those two redstone torches which make the power only go off for a very short time.

If you did that, you could also try making a longer clock (add an even number of torches to the circuit).

  • hey, when you press F3 it shows which block is a slime spawner, what is that??

  • Your Slime Finder doesn't work for me :S

when I press ''Search for Slimes!'' its says "the tab has been closed and reopened because of a problem with this page''

    can u help me?

  • @CBDingen I had the same issue. If you're using IE9 try switching to Firefox and it should work fine.

  • what song is that? i like it!

  • Holy fuck, *Issuing Tactical Mute*

  • what the fuck

  • Hello! I have a question!.

I tried recreating a farm like this but big slimes just glitch and dont split, the more little slimes dont go in the water like there is an invisible wall they cant cross.. any ideas why this is happening? Is it maybe my first floor is made out of glass?

  • @BakaZulu I don't think glass has anything to do with it. Make sure you built it exactly like I did with 2.5 water height for big slimes to drown. You can send me screenshots/world/server ip if you like and I'll take a look at it.

  • @micromancero Thanx how do I send you that?

  • Thumbs up if the Minecraft Wiki brought you here

  • Works for 1.8?

  • @iJohnnyBme why shouldnt it?

  • @iJohnnyBme Yep

  • Very nice!!

But how to place signs floating in the air? And place signs on glass? Is that possible in vanilla?

  • Yeah, both is possible. To place signs in the air, you have to place one sign on a block first. From there, you can place the signs on one another, just aim at the already placed sign. I heard that some Bukkit plugin may cause problems with this though. Not sure if it's fixed by now or if it's even intended..

  • I used your Slime finder application, on the internet.

Thank you very much, Mr. Micromancero:P

  • It seems your algorithm is wrong, I have no slimes spawning in my area. My room is 32*32 (3 chunks out of 4 are slimeful according to your program) , floor level at 11, ceiling 20 or so, and I haven't seen a single slime in there.

  • @lhommealenvers that OR the algorith is taken from an old version of Minecraft.

  • @lhommealenvers how long have you waited? Without hostile spawning in prevention in the 128m radius, it can take some time (maybe an hour or so if you're unlucky). The algorithm hasn't changed for a long time.

  • (I ask because I read below level 16, but I saw you had a level at 16 there in your vid)

  • @Ecoi1 They actually spawn below level 16. But your F3 adds +1.6 to the coordinate (eye height). So if your F3 shows 16.6, you're on the highest level they can spawn on.

  • @micromancero Ohhhhhhhhh, okay. Thanks!!

  • Do slimes still spawn on level 16?

  • What's that thing that shows the seed and if slimes can spawn? Is it a mod?

  • @monopoly2121 I found it.

  • where did u got the slime spawners from o_O

  • halp, i used the website to find the chunk that slimes are in, and i cut out a 16x16 area and the floor is at the 11 layer, NO slimes are spawning in my area? why?????????? i really need help!

  • @cxcevents With only one floor and no hostile spawning suppression it can take a few hours to see some spawns. See the topic linked in the description for more info.

  • @cxcevents its supposed to be layer 16!

  • @trere1000 no, if u read the article it needs to be BELOW layer 16.

  • @trere1000 Oh!

    Welll

    DIE !

    GO SLIME1

    TAKE REVENGE!

  • hey the hole i made is in the right spot but i happen to have a lot of lava above and around it, i messed it up because i used a lot of water and got a lot of obsidian, so next cave i make is it possible to get rid of lava with tnt? and how much lava is usualy underground too

  • @ironman121296 There is a lot of lava below layer 10. Either build less floors per chunk or get rid of it with buckets or filling it with sand/gravel. TNT doesn't work afaik.

  • Can someone help?

I click on the link thing that its giving me for the Yes No Slime mod and it says Save Open

I click open it opens a blank page then exits out

    wtf? Please help

  • @Dratenburg Sounds like a browser problem.

  • @micromancero How can i fix it?

  • @Dratenburg Not sure, depends on which browser and OS you're using. Try updating it if it isn't up to date or using another browser.

  • Молчать америкосы!!!

  • whatever it is, you got it, perfect work.

  • what do you enter manually to get it to show you where they are?

  • @MrBLions14 You just have to press F3

  • i have slime lover mod it makes slimes not have to be killed to get slimballs they lay em like eggs

  • Comment removed

  • 1:55 DIAMOND! :oo

  • This is amazingly useful, thanx so much

  • there won't even spawn one at my chunk, i got it 5 blocks high dug out 16x16, im using f3 to see if there spawns anything but it doesn't....

  • @lilzerolil Make sure you're below elevation 16 and actually in a chunk that can spawn slimes.

  • @InvaderWakkoReborn Got it now, its just one chunk so only 1 slime swpns every hour or so... sucks but i found 2 oher chunks nearby :)

  • music download?

  • Theres an easier way to do all this,

    /spawn slime

  • This is so boss.

  • Comment removed

  • How Did u made for so many slimes to spawn??

  • @santienano1 So Complicated!!!

  • @santienano1 I used the light command of SingleplayerCommands which prevents other hostiles from spawning -> much more slimes. You can do the same if you put torches everywhere in a radius of 128m from your collection point. Doesn't work that well though if there are other players on your server when playing SMP.

  • @micromancero Thank You!

  • @micromancero i cant get the small slimes to go up the ladder, they will go halfway and then come back down... any ideas?

  • @micromancero i mean they ALL go down, not just a few.. :-(

  • @juniormafia80 did you make it 1x1 space and used solid blocks? not sure if the latter matters though.

  • @micromancero ive done the ladders 1,2 and 3 wide.. up solid blocks to the surface... out of every 10 that go up the ladder 9 will come back down... ive seen videos where they relentlessly go up the ladder to be killed at the surface, but my slimes dont :-(

  • @juniormafia80 Stick with 1x1. Did you place the ladders on the same side all the way up? Did you leave any gaps anywhere? I think every slime tends to climb down after a while, but usually the next slime from the bottom pushes them back up forming a cluster which won't change direction afterwards. Only at the top, one single slime seems to climb down again. Hence there should usually be only one slime stuck in your system. If you somehow tried only with single small slimes, 9/10 makes sense.

  • Spelling mistake in description :D

  • @TheKevinTrinh thanks =)

  • Pro.

  • the little ones are cute

  • you are a ASDAfafFAcxadaxADfFescfF

  • nice tut.

  • what mod did you used that swow 'Slimes: ' ,and does it work in multyplayer?

  • @Fazenda98 yes, see link in description.

  • So far, it's the most complicated type of farming i've ever seen. Good job.

  • An amazing good job, but the video and the subs are quite to fast for me ^^

  • do slimes spawn in peaceful?

  • @fenojack no

  • @fenojack yeah, but they will still hurt you

  • @fenojack yes but only tiny ones, you usually don't get slimes from them but i have. (then again that was back in alpha)

  • @fenojack Small ones do

  • @jereon10 that's not true. there's a line in the code that would allow only small ones to spawn, but due to the way that spawning works, hostiles get skipped entirely on peaceful (all slimes count as hostile). so there might be non-legit ways to spawn only small ones on peaceful (eg. slime mob spawners), but not by natural spawning.

  • can the slime app thing on minecraft forums be used for multiplayer and servers? :)

  • @imaketechreviewz yes, you need the mod though to get the seed for the app thing unless you're the host or have access to the level.dat somehow.

  • @micromancero Ohh alright my bro is the host so what would i do for that?

  • @imaketechreviewz You can use the mod without problems. For the online app, either ask him to send you the level.dat of the active world and then upload it on the website or manually copy the seed (usually long number) into the seed field.

  • @micromancero Ohh alright thanks alot! btw nice video!! :)

  • how did he clear out all that space?

  • @trollface429 SinglePlayerCommands+WorldEdit
