how i found a gaming pc for thder 200$:

Some moron at my local electronics recycling program had a hp pavillion m8330f with a bad video card, they thought " oh shit my pc is fucked"

and i ended up with it, onl y the cost of a new graphics card here are my specs:

two 300gb hdd (sata)

3gb ram

windows 7 ultimate on both hdds

and i havent purchased a graphics card yet! oh and the moniter, mouse and keyboard were free too ;)

One reason I didn't get a PS3 or 360, is because I had already been PC gaming since the days of 3dfx (in addition to PS1, N64, SNES, PS2, and Xbox), and when the PS3 and 360 were released, they cost damn near as much as a gaming PC. There's a reason they're cheap now. Why do the games still cost $60 on console? It's not like they're breaking their backs to make games now, programming them for hardware that's outdated by an entire generation.

PC's have higher resolutions up to 1920x1080 like me, consoles do not have 1080p support on games like CoD, all games are locked @ 1280x720. PC's can change the FOV like in the video, consoles are stuck at 65 FOV. PC's have no fps lock, consoles are locked @ 60 fps. Care for more, fanboy?

I just have a normal decent pc and the game runs smooth, however i find the players on pc NOT good. How do you get no lag on the multiplayer? I have an Alienware Area 51 with a huge graphics card, a good Internet connection, and a steam account. For some reason, the patch that was supposed to fix the lag didn't work on my computer. I have menu freezes, and my computer can't even stay connected to one game. It's pitiful. It's not my computer though, IT'S BLACK OPS!!!

I commend you on your courage for posting PC gameplay. But honestly, PC was super shit when it was released. Fatal Errors, Lack of dedicated servers, game glitches, disconnects, FPS drops, Lack of overall polishing. Treyarch really screwed us over just because they thought we wouldn't be heard. Even now, I get disconnected and shit on with fatal errors and various other issues. I hope you keep posting PC footage, because we are still awesome.

@dannyKurt Oh ho ho ho, you've obviously missed all the hullaboo about how Black Ops PC was terrible for some people with quad and even 8 core computers. I have a quad core, a gig of dedicated graphics memory and 4 gigs of ram. Please explain to me why I can run MW2 completely maxed out and have an FPS of 70 but not so on black ops? It's just badly optimised. Fatal errors are caused by a buffer over-run or exception in the code running the engine. AKA, bad porting and coding for the PC.

Why should I pay 1000 dollars more to get a second PC which is an i7 anyway? i7 and i5 processors are almost identical anyhow. It's just that this game is so terribly ported over for PC. In addition to this, there are no/few asian servers, so I have to bear with 200 ping almost every server.

$1500 is far far far more than needed.

The PC I'm using maxes out MW2 at 1680x1050 (Not that interested in Black Ops, might get it later)

Monitor is $120, PC cost $680 ($80 of which is a soundcard which is unnecessary) and my mouse and keyboard cost me $90 (though perfectly competent kbm+m cost $30 at most.

So $750 will get you a perfectly competent setup for modern gaming. Subtract what you'd spend on a desktop PC anyway and there you have the real cost of a gaming quality PC.

@WyrmSaint I have to agree. i have a standard HP pavilion thats about 4 years old. 2.0 ghz dual core processor, 3 gig of ram, only cost me 650 at the time, but it would only run you 350 now. i slapped a GeForce 8600 GT XXX in it, $80 at the time, but around 40 now. and it runs cod modern warfare 2 just fine.

you can also build a really sweet quad core with 4 gig of ram and a similar graphics card for around $500, if you build it yourself.
