the shinra tower was my fav part of the game! so much happens! from looking for aeris, meeting hojo, meeting red xii, meeting rufus, the shock death of president shinra, hearing about sephiroth for the first time, seeing jenova for the first time, splitting up to find where the blood trail leads, the amonut of boss battles (awsome), the crazy motorbike chase, leaving midgar, the shinra tower is where the game changes! i love u ffvii!

I cannot stand facing the Ruby and Emerald Weapons near the game's end. No matter how strong my characters are, what weapons they have, or what materia or magic they have, i still lose.

you need some good old 3xmime materia, w summon and knights of the round paired with HP absorb, makes the fight with emerald weapon a piece of cake waiting game. As for ruby... yeah that's a pain in the ass

Ruby is susceptible to paralysis, so any paralysing items work. Go in with 2 characters dead and make cloud paralyse it, then I'd revive the other 2 and fight with all 3, occasionally paralysing. Emerald can be beaten fairly easily by taking in one character with kotr and w-summon, and another with about 5 mastered mime materias. W-summon kotr (make sure it is paired with HP absorb) and then mime with the other character. That, or for both go in with final attack and phoenix paired

Oh, hades paired with elemental on your weapon will also paralyse ruby whenever you attack, but be careful because the paralysis does wear off mid attack sometimes, and that's when ruby defeated me, so if you pair kotr with MP absorb, then do a w-summon at the beginning of combat of hades and kotr (make hades first) and keep miming, ruby won't be able to attack, and even when the paralysis wears off the hades will re-inflict it before ruby counters the kotr with ultima. ;-)
