I don't sense a great connection between these two. I like Aida, Radames has great voice but doesn't act the part to me. Forgive for saying so but he's not quite masculine enough
Very nice singing. I like these clear voices--they're elegant. But what's with the wiggling around? Especially Radames... you keep shifting your feet and stepping around. A controlled amount of that is good (can't be stock-still the entire song), but you seem to be drifting around the stage. It loses a lot of the strength of your acting--especially stepping backward for no apparent reason and shifting on your feet. Movement is distracting. Watch out for that.
No offense, but you are no theater critic. And, neither of them claimed to be Adam or Heather. So why don't you just blow your comments out of your ass.
Their singing was excellent, but they seriously didn't do much in the way of acting. They lacked expression, and it looked like there was no acting. No, I'm not a great Broadway performer like Pascal or Headley, but I did work for three years in my high school's drama department and volunteered to continue that help. It might not be high level acting there, but it was still better than this between leads in my school (note: I only acted in the chorus once, never was a lead).
great voices, but lets be honest with ourselves...aida should be black and radames shouldnt be gay. again, vocies good, but no acting skill, especially from radames.
I'm an actor,,I was just casted out to do Radames,,,I'm excited! I have been studying many clips,,,You (Radames) have talent! maybe our paths will cross on Broadway!!!
You are good...and she is OUTSTANDING. Her voice is very emotionally charged, and she also acts very well. You didn't do the optional high notes, but that's okay because you sounded nice the way you did it.
U have an amazing voice (well so does the girl! she rocks) Did she go tanning a lot, this girl who is seriously the most amazing actress (from ellwood city) and singer ever did when she played aida to make her more colored and stuff
I didn't see you jump off the boat, kick off your shoes, or run --- its a reminiscent moment!!! Ahhh--- stop trying to sound like everyone else back off all the rifts (they show a lack of strength) and be your own person --- GEE Mr. Brady you sound so pissed that you're stuck in Egypt....ughhh, I don't know what to say
Hey Genius I didn't mean shoes literally, I meant physically expressing what you would do, you only took two stps away from him, and whats this shosshing with your arms -- you want to embrace your feelings not push them away. I've already discussed this with matt-- don't get me started on you....
oh man ... we did this for our spring musical but you guys blew ours out of the water, especially with the performances on this song ... kudos, man, you have an AMAZING voice
great voices. For Radames..just a note..you'll probably have the opportunity to work with several leading ladies in your lifetime. DON'T ever make them have to turn upstage to have to relate to you or talk to YOU. Be aware that she is seen too..ok? Otherwise great job!
You're right, there are probably three black people at this school, unfortunately they didn't audition and probably can't sing as well. When watching this show, or most broadway shows for that matter, if you can't be color-blind in some cases, that's ridiculous.
Sorry, do you actually think the Egyptians were WHITE?? People just want to divide the characters into black and white because of the whole black/white history with slavery - but the Egyptians were hardly Caucasian. The point is to establish a racial difference - they could just as easily make all the Nubians white and the Egyptians black.
The first performance of The Crucibal I saw was a primarily black cast...that's not historically accurate either. The characters are meant to be WHITE but the black cast worked for me, it's the story that matters. Ignoramus.
technically the entire cast should be black if oyu want to be like that so I guess their entire pay stinks. Becuse this is not true, start being colorblind.
Repeatopfender, do u not realize that we go to suburb schools? none of our theater program has black students- trust me, if we had them, we'd include them.
o- and technically, this play wasnt written for any skin color. check ur facts, darling.
I reallllly like the two of them ^.^ I think they sound awesomeeeeeeee and really don't have anything to complain about honestly.

I always though "and why should I ..." should have more passion behind it.
altogether though, I think the acting here is better than the comments are giving you credit for. Good singing as well!

Good singing, not really much of a connection, Radames didn't impress me much
Great voice, but would it kill ya to be a little more masculine? He is an Egyptian General after all
=[ no high note

She doesn't have to be black...its called color blind casting...picking someone on talent rather than race.

I like it. My school people suck so.
JackSparrowluvr25 4 years ago
oh I almost forgot. Radames missed his entry at one crucial point "And why did I tell her this?". Sorry but that stunk.

I like the sets and Aida's voice. That's about it. Radames can't sing and is way to gay. That's what acting is-being something you're not.

Ummm...Slaves can have shows...and Aida definetely would if she went sailing with Radames.
But I digress.
The girl can definetely sing...I don't think I like all the direction though. She is good though.

Dear Saints, how idiotic do you get?
1, you can't cast a black person if they don't audition and 2 the part should go to the best performer.
And she freakin' sounds like Heather Headley. I know black actresses who can't pull this role off.
Good job, both of you.
