Karen is great--it's unfortunate that yes she did some flops that probably affected her career. However, people always talk about her and how amazing she is. She teaches in LA and was recently in White Christmas. She's the best!
as great of a voice as she has, when your career is plagued by flops then producers get a little weary. Which is unfortunate because her rendition of 'I had a ball!' is phenomenal..
I wish her brilliant turn in Grass Harp would turn up on film here - unlikely.

Love the interpretation. She really acts the story of the lyrics. Great.

Read account in book "Broadway Musicals" Unbelievable run of bad luck and I guess, poor choices prevented superstardom. Very talented though.

I "believe" she stayed in L.A. and didn't do much Broadway to take care of her ailing mother.
I hope you know her work in "The Grass Harp"

How I love her voice. Such a great personality. Sooo gifted. She can, pretty much, do it all.
Love her!

Don't know why Karen has a reputation as a belter. Yes, she has a big voice, but just listen to the delicate and lovely end of this piece --

Damn, I love that woman! Wonder about the British pronunciation of "again/pain" though ...

I wouldn't worry about her pronunciation.

The series "Song by Song" was a British series. I am sure that accounts for the pronunciation. Perhaps Ms. Morrow was living in England at that time.

Yes, a truly wonderful singer. She doesn't 'show off", just sings beautifully.
