Listen, its all a good story. But all the other robots suck. I play in Hawaii and some of the intermediate schools do better than that. It doesn't take extreme focus to win like that, but crappy teams that give you the game. If we played them they would loose 254 to 0.
The 7D would need 64 gigs where the GH1 only 16gig for a days footage... and the 7D over heats sometimes ... thank god i got the GH1 lol. I thought you had used the 7D for this video, just goes to show that if you dont know you cant really tell unless side by side under a microscope lol. Thanks for the replies they really help...
Hi Adey, You know it, I hav ehad my 7D over heat on an event it was not even that hot in the venue. I can't wait to this summer, the stories of production shut downs and missed moments on event gigs is going to be interesting once the Heat of summer is added to an already over heated camera like the 7D. The GH1 has never had a problem with the heat yet and I have ran it all day on several occasions using the power adapter. I can no wait to see what they do with the GH2.
You say you can edit the AVCHD GH1 footage directly(no transcoding), Was this with Vegas pro 9 or another editing suite. Was this in 1080 or 720p. I have a Quad core pc with windows but have been using Apple imac quad with - final cut - which needs to convert the gh1 footage first ...hmm .. might need to go back to the PC and try your program ...lol.
Hi Adey, I have to say ypu know your GH1 workflow. Yes I shot this in 720P mode so that I would not need the extra step of pull down removal. I will be taking it to Dallas with us.
On that note I want to be able to do some stills as well and I was thinking about getting a Panasonic flash unit. I have two Canon 580ExII . On a whim I tried the 580 on the GH1 and it worked just fine in manual mode. I prefer manual flash control so I'm al good to use my canon flash on the GH1!!!!
This was all the GH1. In terms of cameras I own the GH1 is just easier to use for this type of event. The fact that I got the whole day on one 16 gig card. On the 7D it would have taken two 32 gig cards. not mention I then would need to transcode the footage which expands the 7D MOV format to an AVI for edit on my PC. the result would be that the 64 gigs would have become about 140 gigs of data. Ouch. With the GH1 the whole day was 16 gigs and I can edit directly no transcoding.
