My air intake rubber hose got broken, but I think I just replace it with another OEM part. I think the Aluminum tube does have a point but I thought plastic have a poorer heat conductance than metal?
It runs good still in 2011, same setup as this video bro. Ivve never had any choke outs or my car dying because of a air flow issue. Its actually better considering you have a cone thats having air forced into it versus a airbox thats is constrictive where air has to pass thru a 4in by 1in chute into a tight box with a thick brick air filter then passing thru that filter into a 2in diameter hole then to the tubing.....
Where as now its Cone, tubing, throttle body..simple

@coandcaiv I had the a 98 (same as 99) and can vouch that it is a great car. I bought mine @ 180k and drove it to 235k then traded it in. Only bought oil changes, brakes and tires for it. Not one single mechaical failure, and I'm not easy on cars, at all. I hauled wood in the trunk, put 14in mud tires on it, took it snow drifting all winter. Abused it big time, and it never asked for anything.

The v6 models are actually slower than the 4 cyl on a 0-60(certain years). Althoug the v6's are nice for turbo purposes if you wish to go that route....
JVC headunit, it fits fine but since its the LE model its got the double deck Cd/Tape player. So the bottom half of my dash was empty, i put in a filler plate but i assume you can buy the official kit at the store that has a storage hubby to fill the open spot.
No window tint besides the stock brownage on the window. Sun will fade and damage stuff, simply place a sun shade in your front window to protect.
I just don't see the point of putting performance mods on a family sedan. I have a 95 Celica GT so I'm driving a Toyota as well but there's a difference between putting an intake on a 2 door sports hatchback and a 4 door saloon.
And an exhaust... wouldn't give you 50 hp.
If you got new headers, a full custom header-back exhaust, got rid of the cat, and got more aggressive cams (294 regrind)all on top of your intake, you'd see a 30hp gain at most. 5s-fe engine wasn't built for performance.
Yeah. So how many miles on that Camry? Our old 92 is still around, use it as our farm car. We got a 2007 to replace it. The 92 has 520000 km on it, 07 is getting close to 100 since my sister worked at homecare for a bit and drove about 200 km each day.

A CAI, performance headers, full custom header-back exhaust, and more aggressive cams (294 regrind) would give you 30hp. The 5S-FE engine is not made for performance it's made for fuel economy. If you wanted a deeper sound just for the sake of sound you should have gotten a SRI.
F all that, doing mods on this car for the sake of hoping for HP increase is insane.

You may have already gotten your answer by now but basically what happens is when you pretty much when you go full throttle the computer tells the transmission to switch gears at a certain speed. Under normal driving conditions the tranny shift around 4000 rpm. so when your full throttle at 5400 rpm and you left off the throttle a bit, maybe half throttle the computer goes back to its normal cycle and tells the tranny to shift up. When it shift to go full throttle and it holds that gear.

Well when i bought this stuff, they didnt have anything available on ebay(piping, filters etc.) so im like F it. get it all cheaper at auto zone. Just bought a nice large cone filter($20) took out my old air cleaner box, then just refitted it with this here.
It sounds straight up mean at 4k+ rpms. Rather hear the intake sound then a shitbox/fart cannon. really dont have any other mods cause this car just isnt worth putting money into.
Is this the 3.0? I was looking for a cold air intake for my lexus es300 and it has a 3.0 (95 year also)

you obviously cant tell shit cause i do not shift from L to 2..thats a proven ricer way to shoot the life off your transmission into the shitter....
I will provide a simple let off of the gas to make the car shift(say if i give it 3/4ths gas, itll shift 4k plus outta 1st, but i let off about 3.1 and itll shift for me)

why do ppl insist on bashing? adding an intake isnt supposed to make you seem fast or tough(wtf?) it increases throttle response and increases gas mileage in the long run assuming youre not pushing it. for the record this car shifts around 2800-3000 rpm driving comfortably.

why are ppl bashing? adding an intake marginally increases response and overall will save you gas in the long run assuming you dont push it all day. look it up. putting an intake in ur car doesnt mean ur tryin to be fast or tough(wtf?). my girl has this same car and i love driving it. for the record, driving this car like a civilized human it shifts around 2500-3000 and drives comfortably at 55 around 2250.

You may have already gotten your answer by now but basically what happens is when you pretty much when you go full throttle the computer tells the transmission to switch gears at a certain speed. Under normal driving conditions the tranny shift around 4000 rpm. so when your full throttle at 5400 rpm and you left off the throttle a bit, maybe half throttle the computer goes back to its normal cycle and tells the tranny to shift up. When it shift to go full throttle and it holds that gear.

they only have one..i believe the piping is 1.5 inch..but they include like 3 size adpaters..so you can find a fitting for sure.

Well when i bought this stuff, they didnt have anything available on ebay(piping, filters etc.) so im like F it. get it all cheaper at auto zone. Just bought a nice large cone filter($20) took out my old air cleaner box, then just refitted it with this here.
It sounds straight up mean at 4k+ rpms. Rather hear the intake sound then a shitbox/fart cannon. really dont have any other mods cause this car just isnt worth putting money into.
