Well beans are ready for the canning now. Gave some to grandchild yesterday to take home to Mn.

Mom just got big onions planted and carrots also tyrnips. Art planted potatoes and 150 strawberry plants. Lot more to plant. Go to fencing in strawberries and see what Art did.

I use my jars over and over but this is another thing to check: Sometimes a tiny piece of old rubber from last lid may stick on top of jar ,so make sure there is nothing left on lid after washing jar or seal of new lid won't take.

A question was asked if lid doesn't take right or seal right do I throw the whole jar out? NO, it is bad lid. Only throw jar out if it is cracked or has a chip. Jars can be used over and over.

What else should I know?

All American Pressure Canners are extremely durable. They are bigger than other canners you might find on the market so you can generally do more canning at one time. They have a number of safety features, the bolt on lid, the neoprene plug which pops when the pressure is too high. The gauge will stand up and release, as well as a the dial indicates the amount of pressure within the canner itself. They can't blow up!
