Nice kit? im looking for my first kit and this seems pretty awesome. i have a bit of experience with drums, you know basic stuff. so what do you think?
@MrBucket0fries never said I'd searched e-drum videos... just searched "Let's get it started drum covers"
and if I find an e-drum video I hope this video could change my mind and will tell me that e-drums ain't so bad. but this one just confirmed my opinion.
lmao this is just about the same as a reg set, i started out with one of these sets and then i got a real set so dont dis the set its a great fkin set. i still have it and still use it sometimes. so stfu haters
@23CHRISAIR23 How can you say that this video is crap? This guy is one of the best drummers i have seen! And i totally agree with paul360guitar. Explain your reasons to me.
there is NO way this guy is the best drummer you have seen!!!! no disrespect to this guy at all but there is just no way... im not trying to be rude but this guy is not at the top of the list of youtube drummers.... most drummers who do cover videos just do one take and play it straight thru... i dont know why he recorded it in sections??? maybe he did a couple takes and kept the parts he liked??? i dunno just a lil strange to me...
@23CHRISAIR23 Why do you make a comment and then don't explain why. I am just learning to play Drums, so to me this is GREAT. I'm guessing you must be a great drum player since you are saying his vid is crap.
well done, great cover :D good editing as well because when it goes to front view ur cap is facing forwards an wen it goes to the view behind u, ur cap is facing backwards (Y)
Very Nice recovery on stick drop, nice use of the snare/2nd tom. I'm impressed! few questions though;
what preset did you use (sorry i didnt see an answer) or are they all individually programmed?
Have you considered dual zoning all of your modules (I'm doing it to all mine so I can make use of my toms similarly and have my snare, can't use all the inputs of course but you can use the ones you want at least)
HEy um, i couldn't help but notice that your crash is pretty repetitive. And unfortunately the other cymbal is a ride. But what i have do is i have taken the snare and switched t with my 2nd high tom. And when i hit the rim of the tom, you can make it a cymbal. Now you have 2 crashes! but no rimshots... :(
HI, this to everyone who has this kit, would you recomend me buying it??? please reply with my name on the bottom of your reply so i know its to me , thanks alot
@kickflipindy78 allow me to disagree, not because i own one, but the sounds are plain beautifull!!! i ve used it for gigs and the result was more than satisfactory, agreed the cymbals could be better! but, for its price its the BEST you can get! Only roland can produce better drumsets but their prices are discustingly high( yet they rule the electronic drumsets world)
Hi there, there are "audio out" connections back on the sound module to get the audio signal, but also midi out to link to a virtual sound module on your computer, if you want.
Hi there, I've got it, and the only thing you have to do is to press the pedal when you turn on the sound module, to get the hi hat closed. Pressing the pedal, will open hi hat in this case.
ALESIS DM5 IS BETTER. Get the new kit updates from the Alesis website, and you got a better sounding drum module... WAAY better than the Roland TD3. ALso, the Alesis DM5 is VERY tweakable so you'll have more options and possibilities.
The new pads are better than the original DM5s. They do not feel like wood... if you've ever played on a Remo practice pad, thats kinda what they feel like. In my opinion, I think these pads are quite loud not that great for 'silent practice'. I just ordered a set of Pearl mesh heads to replace the stock heads on all the pads, and I'm pretty sure this will help to make them quieter, improve the 'feel' of the pads and increase the triggering sensitivity of the pads.
but why should wot sumone else do dictate wot another person can do,
wow the guy from paramore did the drums for crushcrushcrush, but i still went and learnt the song anyway, does that make me a "wannabe wotever the drummers name is"
Nice job on the session -- good save on the dropped stick! lol Sounds good. My only criticism would be to put a little more technique in your hihat fills, but that'll come with uber practice. Great stuff, keep it up!
since you don't just record your drumming with a webcam (like so many others do) could you make another video in which you quickly show the different drum kits that are in the dm5 module? so far i didn't find anyone who has done that. nice drumming! keep it up!
Can you have it so music comes out your headphones aswell as the drum sounds? Or are you like limited to hearing the songs outside of the headphones, via like, another speaker.

It seems to me like more of a rockband/guitar hero drumset and I'm just wondering if the rebound is good and if it's at least somewhat close to playing real drums, so when I do get a real set, I can transition easy enough.
thanks
Kickflipkid687 2 years ago
this set is just like playing an acoustic set. i actually prefer this electronic set over any other. i prefer this over most acoustic except real high end ones.
verilux83 2 years ago
Hmmm, good to know I guess. I just got a cheap 5 piece set today with a crash and hit-hat setup, so we will see how that works out.
If it's just going to be too damn loud or isn't sounding all that great, then I might have to take it back and get an electronic kit.. :(
