The cost of manufacturing, including wages, freight, and additional costs is probably closer to 25%-30% of what it's sold for, for the manufacturer. Okay here's the deal I prefer macs but my family just got our 1st mac for Christmas, a 27" monitor iMac. We do have a nice pc laptop. It runs well but not quite as well as the iMac. Worth the money in my opinion. It has way better apps and features with Garage Band, Photo Booth, etc... then there's things like the magic mouse which I love. So basically I respect those that think the Mac is overpriced but and I respect the people who own pc's because I've had 1 for a long time. But I prefer mac.

But on the other hand PC isn't that bad as some people make it too be. PC is actually a really good computer, I know Mac's can't get viruses, that is why you have anti-virus softwares. And I understand that Mac is fast and doesn't freeze near as much as PC does. But PC is a great computer too me. Mac is a great one too. I'd say Mac is more for Graphic Designers and people who special in that category. Every day computer users need a PC though.

There are a couple problems with apple.1.a lot of programs dont run on a mac 2.there new 27 inch imac is having numorus ploblems with the screen 3.Iphones are verry cool but they have a lot of problems with the software(like mine i restored it several times and still could not get the WIFI Buttont to even turn on) I had windows XP and upgraded to 7 and im sticking to 7 and i have not had any problems since i got it(4 days)
