What is up with Rhode Island? A state that has a 90% Democratic legislature can't bring same-sex marriage to a floor vote because the Speaker and Democratic leadership are AGAINST it. You have a Republican Governor that sounds more like a Southern Governor than New England.

The only hope for your state, of course, would be to elect a former Repulican turned independent who can expose the leadership in that state for its failure to recognize equality and corruption.

@Womanizer2985 although I don't support gay marriage per se, my mom has like 3 gay neighbors living on her street. One is open about it and the other 2 are still somewhat in the closet? But, I believe that it isn't their fault that they are gay/homosexual and they shouldn't be discriminated against. If gay marriage ever does becomes legal in RI more of them will come out feel less ostracized, we are all in this world together, and why should they get less rights than the rest of us?

Did Chafee say ANYTHING about Gov. Palin that was factually correct? She never banned books from any library. Did she "mock Obama for reading rights to adversaries"? Fiscal responsibility, hesitancy towards involvement in foreign conflicts, strict resistance to getting involved in personal matters and the idea that the federal government should respect the right of states to have a large amount of autonomy.
