@gasdorf - It's going to cost you roughly $30-$50 for the mintage of a gold coin, regardless of size. So if you buy one ounce of golx for $1500, you may pay $1550 total... a bit over a 3% premium. But if you buy ten 1/10oz. gold coins, you will pay closer to $185 each rather than $150, meaning you're paying $1850 per ounce of gold! Buying small sizes sucks, but if you can't afford an ounce, what can you do? Plus, small pieces will be easier to use later.

Also, Canada has 1/20oz. gold Maples. I would have some, but at that size the premium is too much for me to swallow. 1/10oz. pieces still seem to be the best for non-rich folks like us.

Very nice with those 1/10 oz. gold pieces, careful not to lose it, it very small and hard to find, good idea to keep it in the plastic thing. :)

the thing i like about coins is they have a face value ie....gold coins $100 ect and can be used as payment ,altho you would not cash in a 1oz coin for face value !

there is no tax on 999 gold. At least not in Canada. I don't know about every state. If you got it for 158 including shipping that is a reasonably deal. Yes, I watch your videos. Some of them anyways.

@barnone11967 i bought a 1 gram gold bar with a hologram on apmex the total was $84 dollars chris..why does it cost $34 dollars over the melt value ? i got a 49 dollar piece of gold ...i dont get the value i did with silver . were do you buy the cheapest 1 gram bars chris?

You said you can buy silver and gold cheaper than 6% over spot, but you buy from apmex?

They sell all of their stuff about 9% - 12% over spot. Occasionally they have a special - but that doesn't really count because other dealers have specials sometimes too.

@yogiudo Do you watch my videos? I say all the time that I buy the Majority of my coins on ebay. Apmex had a sale so I bought those 2 coins..... I think $158 each including tax and shipping was a good deal for 24 karat 1/10 oz gold coins.

Nice set of coins! i got in 3 (1oz) gold bars today. I think their be stalling too til the last minute. But its a scary thought like you said their have some "natural" disaster to have a reason to lift the ceiling as if their playing good guy role.. Makes you wonder what is all "disasters" by the u.s. gov for debt purposes..
