I don't think many of you knew this but the lead signer (my wife) was "great with child" at the time of this concert. She was 5.5 months pregnant. Our daughter Symone, the 3 yr. old, is now 6. We're as proud of her today as we were then.

What a powerful video! The message of the song, the use of the white gloves/sign language, and the children of various ages. I was especially awed by little simone and how precise her signs and movements were, and she was on cue! The fact remains they are giving praises to the Almighty God and that is by far, ultimately, the most important thing. He's not looking for perfection, but he looking at your heart. God has a special way with children. If it hasn't been noticed, this baby already expresses her memory talent and alertness. Which is why we as adults, especially young adults need to be causious about how we walk and talk and stay on the battle field for the Lord. If we walk right and talk right, babies like her will be stable in Christ.
Guess it's important to clarify whether you are interpreting a song(into sign language for the deaf population) or you are 'interpretive signing'. BIG DIFFERENCE! Both valuable and beautiful!
I have to agree with Faith Tempo. If the signing isn't done accurately, using correct terminology, they're not "ministering" to the deaf...they're performing. I have deaf relatives and have grown up around deaf people. This sort of thing isn't always appreciated. It's not always "the thought that counts." When they're trying to sign "NOBODY BUT YOU LORD, NOBODY BUT YOU," they're signing "NOTHING YOU LORD LORD NOTHING YOU." Hmmm...I don't know how many deaf people would grasp that.
However, that said. I will give them THIS: they are TRYING to reach out to the deaf community, which from what I know, is greatly appreciated. The deaf community is not being ignored. I have some deaf friends and they appreciate it when the hearing community tries to reach out to them and doesn't treat them like lepers or as if they're less than. So I'm sure the mere effort is appreciated. The execution just needs work. :-)

What does that have to do with protocol.
I loved this and especially loved seeing the young persons blessing God. However, if the intent was to also minister to the deaf USING *THEIR* LANGUAGE (that is, sign language), it was not accomplished really.
You can't claim to minister to someone in their native tongue and not be truly ministering in their native tongue. Sign language is a very distinct language and should be studied and researched, perhaps even with a deaf consultant, before it's done, so that the communication isn't covered up by performance.
That's like me singing in Spanish but using the wrong words. In other words, learn not only the signed words, but the concepts of those words. Otherwise, the translation is lost.
B honest church 4us2 do ASL only shows we have lack of (DUNIMUS)= miracle working power to unstop deaf ears open blind eyes raise the dead. But w/do this 2cover up we R not flowing in total deliverance ourselves B/C we R bound we cant set the captives free but we got a tricks/gifts/talents/tongues so we use them to cover up lack of DUNIMUS Yeshua (Jesus) nor the Apostles never did this. We're supposed to rejoice in the Lord with all our hearts and think this also teaches the youth that even the deaf can have a great time in God. The children are blessing...and just just the little one in the front. God is using them. I don't think anyone questions that. I don't think you can say ignore the signing and just hear the singing because they ARE signing.

Hello, I am a hearing person who also does sign and sorry to say, I hardly even recognized that you all were doing sign! Gloves certainly threw me off and was a little too much going on! so i have to agree, poor (performance).
I believe that "God Hands of Praise" mean well and the signers only sign what they have been taught. I employ you to go back to the drawing board and research the culture & STOP performing and minister. The anointing starts from God and falls down on the signer out into the audience.
I hope my comments haven't offended. I encourage you to continue just tweek your technical skills, learn protocol, & the culture so that God can use you to access his people, BRIDGE THE GAP between the
communicating to the deaf community. The signs: some are conceptionally incorrect. When signing, we can't assume that al deaf people know sign language. It is IMPERATEIVE that you TRANSLITERATE; meaning: that your mouth be moving and voicing the words as yu sign. Example: The John Tracy Clinic @ UCLA don;t embrace signing, only lip reading. So that deaf person wouldn't understand a thing that was being performed. You want to be able to embrace the Complete Deaf Community.
Gloves, long fingernails, finger nail polish, jewe3rly irritates the deaf person eyes. USING GLOVES: the deaf person can't read the signs. The ojective is to minister and communicate to the deaf. right!

That was beautiful.I don't understand why we are so critical? The title of the video was God's Hands of Praise. That's exactly what I saw. Every set of hands that was being used to praise and bless God could have been used to do something negative. Why can't we be happy whenever we see someone being used by God?

Loved the video. The comments!?! goodness gracious. people and their opinions. I've listen to the video several times and I thorougly enjoyed it. I've also read your comments. Whether this choir is signing correctly or not is not the issue. The fact remains they are giving praises to the Almighty God and that is by far, ultimately, the most important thing. He's not looking for perfection, but he looking at your heart. If you would like to present a video where the signing is done correctly, please be my guest, but don't critize these young people. God Bless U

God has a special way with children. If it hasn't been noticed, this baby already expresses her memory talent and alertness. Which is why we as adults, especially young adults need to be causious about how we walk and talk and stay on the battle field for the Lord. If we walk right and talk right, babies like her will be stable in Christ.

Guess it's important to clarify whether you are interpreting a song(into sign language for the deaf population) or you are 'interpretive signing'. BIG DIFFERENCE! Both valuable and beautiful!

I have to agree with Faith Tempo. If the signing isn't done accurately, using correct terminology, they're not "ministering" to the deaf...they're performing. I have deaf relatives and have grown up around deaf people. This sort of thing isn't always appreciated. It's not always "the thought that counts." When they're trying to sign "NOBODY BUT YOU LORD, NOBODY BUT YOU," they're signing "NOTHING YOU LORD LORD NOTHING YOU." Hmmm...I don't know how many deaf people would grasp that.

However, that said. I will give them THIS: they are TRYING to reach out to the deaf community, which from what I know, is greatly appreciated. The deaf community is not being ignored. I have some deaf friends and they appreciate it when the hearing community tries to reach out to them and doesn't treat them like lepers or as if they're less than. So I'm sure the mere effort is appreciated. The execution just needs work. :-)

It was great. why do poeple feel the need tear people down who are ministering and giving God the glory. God doesn't care about protical. He doesnt get the glory out of that .so what if it what not exactly signed perfect. Are we to say it is not his will we are preaching and make a grammatical.

What does that have to do with protocol.
I loved this and especially loved seeing the young persons blessing God. However, if the intent was to also minister to the deaf USING *THEIR* LANGUAGE (that is, sign language), it was not accomplished really.

You can't claim to minister to someone in their native tongue and not be truly ministering in their native tongue. Sign language is a very distinct language and should be studied and researched, perhaps even with a deaf consultant, before it's done, so that the communication isn't covered up by performance.
That's like me singing in Spanish but using the wrong words. In other words, learn not only the signed words, but the concepts of those words. Otherwise, the translation is lost.

B honest church 4us2 do ASL only shows we have lack of (DUNIMUS)= miracle working power to unstop deaf ears open blind eyes raise the dead. But w/do this 2cover up we R not flowing in total deliverance ourselves B/C we R bound we cant set the captives free but we got a tricks/gifts/talents/tongues so we use them to cover up lack of DUNIMUS Yeshua (Jesus) nor the Apostles never did this. The Devil really doesn't like it when GOD is truly showing out. Instead of looking at the way they signed, look at the youth. People alway say that our youth has no direction, look at this young girl, she has yet to miss anything and was very good, weather it was right or wrong, you see when you are praising GOD it doesn't matter how other preceives it, everybody praises GOD differently so stop with your negative comments and just praise GOD in your own way.GREAT JOB GOD'S HAND OF PRAISE

Amen! People looked down on David because he praised God with all his heart lifting up his hands and dancing. I agree with you 100%. We're supposed to rejoice in the Lord with all our hearts and think this also teaches the youth that even the deaf can have a great time in God. Nobody is limited in the way they express their gratitude as long as it's truly from the heart.

wlbryant68, I agree with you totally, I just left a retreat and learn the many ways of praising God, Psalms 63:4, Psalms 141:2,Psalms 143:6 and everybody does praise God differently and we need to encourgage our youth instead of tearing them down. The devil is a liar. No matter what, this choir probably would have been criticized if they had praise dance. Didn't David's danced before the Lord? HELLO...

I'm always tickled and astounded by how we call constructive commentary criticism. It is absolutely fair and just to say that if I'm deaf and your ministering to me, I need to know what you're saying and I can't if you're not signing what you MEAN to sign.
The children are blessing...and just just the little one in the front. God is using them. I don't think anyone questions that. I don't think you can say ignore the signing and just hear the singing because they ARE signing.

I believe that "God Hands of Praise" mean well and the signers only sign what they have been taught. I employ you to go back to the drawing board and research the culture & STOP performing and minister. The anointing starts from God and falls down on the signer out into the audience.

communicating to the deaf community. The signs: some are conceptionally incorrect. When signing, we can't assume that al deaf people know sign language. It is IMPERATEIVE that you TRANSLITERATE; meaning: that your mouth be moving and voicing the words as yu sign. Example: The John Tracy Clinic @ UCLA don;t embrace signing, only lip reading. So that deaf person wouldn't understand a thing that was being performed. You want to be able to embrace the Complete Deaf Community.

Gloves, long fingernails, finger nail polish, jewe3rly irritates the deaf person eyes. USING GLOVES: the deaf person can't read the signs. The ojective is to minister and communicate to the deaf. right!
"God Hands of Praise" is a WONDERFUL concept, however, they lack the technical training in signing and protocol.

The objective of this group is probably not to "minister and communicate to the deaf", but more so to "dance" or express themselves through their hands. I don't believe that they are trying to use actual sign language or at least not much of it.

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG... We hearing community must be educated about the Deaf Culture. Deaf people have the same thing between their ears as hearing, a brain. They just cant hear. They have a culture and language that needs to be respected. The sad thing about hearing people we don't know or understand their culture. Mainly because we haven't been taught.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER USE GLOVES: why, why. Its' as if a light was over your head blinking constantly.

That was beautiful.I don't understand why we are so critical? The title of the video was God's Hands of Praise. That's exactly what I saw. Every set of hands that was being used to praise and bless God could have been used to do something negative. Why can't we be happy whenever we see someone being used by God?

Thanks big sis, that was fanastic. The little girl is so aggressive with her sign, no body knows it like her. Great Job!!! Someone made a comment it hard to understand sign with gloves on, this is true. Her rescue some times looks like victory. Who knows she probably knew what she was doing. Cute kid!
