there is nothing wrong with tama, it is probably because of short notice and the drumtech could not bring the stuff. i have played tama for awhile and i recently played/heard a dw set live and was amazed. i think that a dw maple set has more warmth than a tama starclassic maple.

its all in your ear. tama has a more dead tone which is better for rock/metal. dw is good in every genre. gretsch and yamaha are perfect for jazz. i also find that tama drums don't distort as much when you pound the crap out of them.

Jason Bittner is an excellent drummer. He isn't known for WOWing people other than how solid of a drummer he is. I noticed he fell off beat on his feet once or twice in the beginning, but listen to the rest. Super solid.
