I've got a have dozen guitars. 2 fenders, one jackson, les paul studio. If this guitar is considered garbage then the rest of my collection is also crap. This guitar is simply a gem for the money. Just ask some of the groups that have used it right out of the box such as UFO. Any articles done by some of the major guitar mags have written glowing reviews on the lemon drop. As for resale this baby isn't going anywhere. Great value.
Could not disagree more. 'Garbage' is inappropriate. For $500 or less you can not get perfection. I had to tweak the string length to set it up but that is all. In terms of playability and tone, the Lemon Drop is excellent. I have compared to my buddy's $5000 LP custom and in terms of tone and weight around my neck, I prefer the Vintage although the custom is far superior as a work of art. I have not tried Kelly probably because I am a lefty and few manufacturers look after us lefties.
It is comparable but not superior. The LP has an edge for sustain over any other guitar given its sheer weight and wood density. The LV100 is lighter but still a neck-through body and the same geometry. It is really about tone more than sustain, but it is extremely respectable for sustain too.
An Epi is also good for the price but these guitars seem to have more character. In the case of the Lemon Drop, it has its own great tone and emulated what has to be one of the greatest guitars ever. The original Peter Green was reported to have last changed hands at $1M! This guitar is not so far off it and only costs $500 or less!
Great demo of the basic tones and qualities of the Lemon Drop. I'm not a left-hander, but this demo is just as valid for righties. Thanks for uploading this, it's been instrumental in helping me choose which guitar to buy (sorry - no pun intended).
It has 2 conductor wiring. SInce making this video I reversed the wiring on the neck pick up to give it some extra honk. The neck pick up is now in upside down as per PG as well as being reversed and I think it sounds even more like the real thing. I have played out a lot with this guitar and like it even more. I especially appreciate that it does not weigh a ton like most LPs do.
I've had one for nearly a year now and paid £229 at the time, minor points are fret buzz on the low E, still not really cured despite going back to JHS twice. The fret edges are a bit rough and need dressing as does the nut. The neck has a great profile and the whole thing sounds great. Still makes me smile :)
ive ordered one of these in lefty for £295 including postage,i hope it as good as they make out.i wanted a cheap les paul type guitar with a good sound. i had i epiphone les paul and didnt like it,it sounded crap,i dont rate epiphone ive had a sg and a dove witch i didnt like and got rid off and now ive got a mexican strat witch plays great with custom shop 69s in but i need something with a bit more bollax a well i hope this is it
Hey, great demo. Well, I have one too, a RH model and I absolutely love it! It is so much fun to play. Considering where they're actually made I can understand a QA problem, but luckily, I got a good one too. Thanks for the video, great playing!
Hi Jeff, I've got a lefty one as well and I love it ! I had a few problems though-the neck joint failed on the first one plus other more minor faults and the replacement guitar had the worst nut I've ever seen-looked like a five year old had made it! If you get a good one they're fantastic value for money but I've heard that quality control can be a problem with Vintage.
Love the demo Jeff, great tone and playing!

Quick question, does anyone know if the pickups in this have 2-conductor or 4-conductor wiring?
