I think I know which soprano player started the tradition of trilling the (unwritten) top B-flat lead-in to the final 8 bars, but does anyone know when ECB actually started the tradition of playing The Red Shield as their encore ? Does it go back to their Tottenham Citadel days ? If so, I wonder just how many times they've played it ??
Good to see I'm not the only one who's gained a few pounds since the 80s - some of those jackets are definitely getting tighter round the middle ;)
