He thought they were idiots, who were doing their level best to distract everyone from their work.

None of that god stuff makes any logical sense. It all seems like fiction to me. Which is why people consider me an atheist. I don't want the burdons of church and worrying about the supposed afterlife.

I can understand asking God to help restore our economy (for the Americans who can't even get health insurance, let alone they're barely paying their bills). Not all of us are "rich." lavender, i have heard almost nothing good about christianity in america. i read "Letter from a christian in 2012" today, and it made me extraordinarily angry, because it focussed almost entirely on greed and homophobia. that's about all i ever hear from the american church, "God hates fags" and "God wants you to be rich" our highest callings should be evangelism and social justice, yet the western church chooses to ignore them to make for a more comfortable ride.

He DOES forgive anyone who asks Him into their lives and is truly sorry for their wrongdoing. He forgave a woman caught in adultery; He can forgive these people if they truly realize their foolishness and stop this nonsense. It wouldn't be the first time God forgave someone for straying away to other things. But they have to know they were wrong first.

Well let's not give up hope. This world is full of people who once were sprinting right towards Hell, a close friend who took me in and helped me get on my feet included, then something happened that changed their hearts and their lives. So some of these people may very well come to grips somewhere down the road and realize this was truly wrong--and make a mends with God for it. I DO, however, feel sorry for anyone among them if he or she never does though.
