I had a 96 Twingo and a 95 Clio. Trust me, the Clio drives way better in every way. Best thing Twingo has going for it is the interior and the style. The twingo also stalled often when the engine was cold and the Clio only did sometimes. They both had the same milage. I'm never bying Renault again regardless because the VW's I owned are more solid but the VW's of that generation have weak gearboxes and in that way Renault does better.
It´s funny, in my country Denmark the Twingo is not very popular, I hardly see any. Then I went to Berlin a weekend and Twingos were all over the place - it must be one of Germanys most popular smaller cars. I hope to buy one sometime - I love that French design.

when i'm driving my Twingo, i'm not afraid wherever i go, off road, foreign country, even up the mountain, because I KNOW it won't break down!
all it needs is regular servising (and it deserves them!)
has more room and is more comfy than some bigger, class-or-two expensive cars!
and it guzzles gas like a cigarette lighter!
seriously, i sometimes wonder if it don't make gas instead of using it up!
if i won a lottery, i'd still drive it!... wait, i'd only cover it with gold!
