  • the worst part of LS is the head, they don't flow very well, either port out the head and get better cam or go with vtec head. but u can turbo LS, they can handle a lot more boost tune then vtec motor, just one thing get some arp head stud, and a comectic gasket.

  • hate to say gsr is over rated. i would perfer lsvtec, gsr stroked or h22a. integra is a heavier car, need some tq make up for it. but that just me

  • wow first of all u r not getting 160hp with those crap mods and a non-vtec B18B1. second of all, adding a vtec head to an LS block requires new oil and water pumps, ecu, belts,and a modfication to ur block to allow oil to the new head. its not just "slap it on!". nd even then ur bottom end was only designed to rev to 7000rpm...vtec kicks in at 5600!

  • You acually know what you're talking about! You forgot to mention the part that even if he does do all the work on his crapy engine or even swaps it for a b18c1 or c5, it still won't be fast at all! Seriously, at all!

  • 20hp is deff doable with bolt ons just not the ones he has.. and evo 11 is that whp? Also 2.5" exhaust would be more for top end hp and a 4-2-1 header is for mid range power.. get a better combo and match your parts better and u should net better gains

  • its header, not headers. and bolt ons cannot get you 20 hp, 10-12 if lucky. typical ricer said type r wing and SHIFT KNOB in his list of mods. and ls do not have vtec.

  • Dude no way are you making 160hp. I have an LS with a short ram, Blox intake mani, Megan Racing 4-2-1 header/downpipe setup with a 2.5" catback system, tuned OBD1 ECU with RC 440cc Injectors and I'm making about 155hp. Just waiting on my new radiator and in goes the garrett T3!

INJEN COLD AIR INTAKE WITH HYDRO SHIELD, SKUNK2 CAT BACK EXHAUST SYSTEM, JDM4-1 HEADERS, GSR FRONT STRUT TOWER BAR. Here is what we did for looks: SKUNK2 TYPE R SIFT KNOB, BLACK TYPE R WING, JDM LICENSE PLATE, LEGAL WINDOW TINT, PIONNER CD PLAYER! ... There! Damnit

  • EDIT: a type-r wing and skunk2 knob and a "CAI" DOES NOT mean "John has Many Mods" and dont write "hopes to get hks exhaust soon...

  • no way in hell u are getting 160 outta a stock b18b1...i had a ls swap in my civic with work done(9.5.1 pistons, CAI, race header, catback, intake manifold, throttle body and tune and i was only makin 160ish untill i boosted it...then sold for DC5 type-s.....k20a2 FTW...

  • Since you ppl are talking about how much power a B18B motor makes. Give me your opinion on how much mine is making... 1998 Jap Spec B18B. crower stage 1 cams, I/H/E 8 lb lightweight flywheel. Id guess its in the mid 150 horses. Its also been tuned to pull as much power out of it as possible in stock form.

  • If you tuned it "Correctly", you should have gotten readouts from the dyno used for the tune. If you "Tuned" it by feel you are probably f*cking your motor up right now. It does have a tunable EMS right?

  • you do not have 160hp out of an LS motor with just an intake and header. and its VTEC, not "V-TECH" put a hose between the intake and the valve-cover, you are causing "blow-by" (READ UP ON IT) car is pretty nice, but don't claim what you can't prove. 160hp from two noise-making bolt-ons.

    your b18b makes 142hp stock (at the flywheel)

    plus Injen CAI, + 2-3hp

    plus *what looks to be an* ebay header + 1-3hp

    you MIIIIIGHT have 148hp (at the flywheel)
