I would reply to each statement, but you ramble too much.

Firstly, I wasn't comparing to Nazis as much as sighting an example of how civilians cannot be cowed by bombing.

As for bombing schools - one of the things that has fueled terrorism is that we bomb to assassinate a leader - as though all the "collateral damage" is worth killing the one man. We do it to limit the loss of our soldiers, but that takes the judgement of a soldier out of the equation.

It also is a moral failing.

The numbers are debateable - there are reports by Palestinian doctors speaking abou 600-700 dead. Plus, reporters speak of dozens of empty beds in Gaza!

Now! Ask yourself why the IDF would bomb a hospital (which you haven't brought any proof of yet) - this would mean that militants used it for cover while attacking troops - THAT is inhumane.

When you bomb a hospital in order to kill the people in the basement, it destroys the whole buliding. Firing a relatively small rocket at a school courtyard is a totaly different story! Having people killed in that instance only menas that those firing the rocket got as close as possible to the children while keeping a good firing angle. It's the same as Hamas taking children as shields - you can find these clips also!

Yes - I am that crazy! Because governments aim at restoring order (even if it is the order suitable for them - this is how history goes) while terrorits aim to topple ANY order - the BIGGEST distinction is that governments - especialy democratic ones - carry resposibility for their citizens, while terrorits disregard civilian needs - that is also why they have no problem stashing rockets under schools and fight "to the last civilian standing"

A government that bombs schools (especially knowing that children are inside) disregards the safety of innocent lives just as much as a terrorist. That government could be viewed by rational thinkers as terroristic.

The bombing of schools comes in response of firing of rockets from the school grounds - by your logic, anyone should allow an atack on their population as long as it is done from schools in order to avoid civilian casualties even if that means that your own civilians will die - somewhat twisted - your logic is completely flawed from A to Z!

By the way, I'm a leftist and my personal view is that Israel made a lot of devastating mistakes - first of which is establishing itself as a JEWISH state - but this is a mistake not only in the moral aspect of Palestinains deserving their own land, but also in the sense that this stirred up so much resistance - we were, and still are, a people under threat - especially from our neighbours who vow daily in public to destroy us - not just the state of Israel, but also all Jews living in it.

Don't forget that Chomsky adresses this issue from the moralistic view ONLY - this frame of thought is MUCH TO NARROW to analyze these kinds of situations and it NEVER gives constructive VIABLE conclusions.

As much as I admire Prof. Chomsky (and I do!), I think that most of the time he is doing more harm than good.

listen 6:13 to 6:33. israel doesn't accept hamas' move towards a ceasefire because its intelligence warns hamas wants calm to prepare for conflict. chomsky holds this against israel "so no calm, conflict."
