  • I Could Hear A Squeak At Around 1:09

  • The epic solo that is in the film "Bird : The Legend of Charlie Parker"

  • Amazing stuff!

  • I'm having a hard find the recording on itunes for this version of nows the time. does anyone know what album specifically it's from?

  • A écouter avec attention.

  • Is this the issued master or an alternative take?

Whatever it is..I wouldn't change a thing. Superb.

  • Bird llives !

    Thanks

  • Miles certainly makes his trumpet sound like an alto sax, hha!

  • @G8GT364CI you do know miles plays on this record right

  • to me, this is like the original Giant Steps

  • Fantástico!!! Sooooo sexy!!!

  • Amazing!!!! Love iti!!!!!!

  • In case anyone was wondering... this is the 1945 recording that got renewed in 1973

  • im playing this to but its warm up

  • to my understanding, on this record, Bird, Dizzy and Miles were all on it, if my sources are correct, so Miles is no prob.

  • Now's The Time...the opening lines of this piece sounds like "Do The Hucklebuck"...

  • Hey guys, Miles davis Picture is the default picture i use for all my videos. Sorry for the confusion

  • @TheJazzplaylist Wow, dude you must have gotten so much shit for that. Fuckin internet.

  • @TheJazzplaylist I was about to say... Why is Miles Davis here?

  • @TheJazzplaylist No confusion and thx for this very cool version which also include The Cool with The Biord. So the picture works fine :-)

  • Sorry but there's definitely something wrong on this page of comments -and many others in fact- : Charlie Parker is less mentioned here than "you know who"'s name. It isn't fair, since there's absolutely nothing in common between these two. Only Schubert or Mozart are related. It's a lot higher level of human mind's achievement, another planet.

  • beaultiful

  • This music is very good.

  • This overcomes Justin Bieber on all the requirements, who listens to me Justin

Bieber has no taste in music.Você is an illiterate in music, learning to listen to good music.

  • man this stuff is almost as good as justin bieber!!!!

  • Does it really end like that, on the dominant? That's going to bug me the rest for the of the day.

  • @jsmaster94 it doesn t end on the dominant but the root is not audible so i understand the confusion , the melody ends on the fifth. (just add a low f in your mind..:)

  • Why do i hear so much of Charlie Parkers solo from Billies Bounce i nthis first solo?

  • @gospelkeys07 Obviously - but on this cut, he was fooling around on the piano while Miles did the trumpeting; you can hear the difference in how Miles' phrasing is deliberate almost mechanical unlike Diz' freewheeling performances in the 40s and early 50s.

  • 12 bar blues?

  • @hradbrad yes it is.

  • its miles.u know?

  • me and lily r learing this for a duet thing :) i hope it all goes well

  • Why couldn't I have lived during their time?

  • This recording does feature Miles on trumpet, but it is Bird's record.

  • In high school, I got a 1 on all of my trombone solos. The only time I got a 3 was when I played this song at a classical solo convention. The judges said it was "a bit unorthodox."

  • I've only heard of people confusing saxophone with trombone.

  • wrong cat

  • Easy bro, I even know people who claim to be active jazz musicians, actually confusing trumpet for saxophone, and, at the same time, teaching jazz saxophone (or trumpet?).

  • Gotta love Dizzy on the piano but Miles trumpet solo sounds a bit ragged.

  • @AllBobsAllTheTime Dizzy on the piano? o.O?

  • @linrunix Charlie Parker: Now's the Time

    Track Nows the Time

    Artist Charlie Parker (alto sax)

Charlie Parker/Miles Davis Birdsong (Savoy Jazz 17180)

    Musicians:

Charlie Parker (alto sax), Miles Davis (trumpet), Dizzy Gillespie (piano), Curly Russell (bass), Max Roach (drums).

    Composed by Charlie Parker

    .

  • @AllBobsAllTheTime Thanks a lot :)

  • @linrunix

    That's Dizzy alright.

  • isnt that miles davis....

  • lol its miles davis in the picture not charlie parker u douche

  • O solo do Miles nessa gravação é maravilhoso!!!!

  • On préférerait nettement voir Charlie Parker ...au lieu de Miles Davis , juste pour éviter de tromper les gens ...

  • Miles Davis played with Charlie Parker in 1945 and recorded Now's The Time as the Charlie Parker Reboppers. I'm not sure if he plays on this version. Love the song.

  • @BirdLivesInMe its miles

  • @BirdLivesInMe I believe Miles played with Charlie in 1949/1950...but I could be wrong.... : )

  • This is Miles Davis in the picture - not Bird.

  • @bushnomics That same picture of Miles Davis is on every video from this channel.

  • @bushnomics Good call. I was about to post that.
