Sorry but there's definitely something wrong on this page of comments -and many others in fact- : Charlie Parker is less mentioned here than "you know who"'s name. It isn't fair, since there's absolutely nothing in common between these two. Only Schubert or Mozart are related. It's a lot higher level of human mind's achievement, another planet.

@gospelkeys07 Obviously - but on this cut, he was fooling around on the piano while Miles did the trumpeting; you can hear the difference in how Miles' phrasing is deliberate almost mechanical unlike Diz' freewheeling performances in the 40s and early 50s.

In high school, I got a 1 on all of my trombone solos. The only time I got a 3 was when I played this song at a classical solo convention. The judges said it was "a bit unorthodox."

Miles Davis played with Charlie Parker in 1945 and recorded Now's The Time as the Charlie Parker Reboppers. I'm not sure if he plays on this version.  Love the song.
