  • OK, problem. I have a norton subscription, and the graphic running process, ccSvcHst.exe, is lagging liek a son of a bitch. im talking it normally hogs up 95% of my cpu. Yeah, It's restricted, and i KNOW i dont need it, (yes, i researched the process, its ok to shut down.) so does anyone know how to shut it down? i've tried batchfiling it, but i cant use batch files well, so yeah, ny help would be appreciated.

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the task manager click the processes tab and find the file "ccSvcHst.exe" and Click End Process

  • Note: Restricted. wont work.

  • Command Option Esc

  • Speaking of task managers that don't give you too much info...check out the Win9X task managers. If explorer.exe crashed, you were pretty much screwed. No way to start new processes neither

  • Chris that web was very usefull

  • Hey Chris, while you have Pixie on your lab, did you ever thought of inviting Triumph the Insult comic dog over?

  • Very Helpful

    thank you!

  • I think everyone should note though that killing processes via the task manager isn't a good thing. It should be a last resort type thing because the task manager does not take the program down cleanly and could corrupt or lose data.

  • I tried to get rid of the AOL dialer and shut down the computer. What a tricky one!

  • AHMAHGAWD IT'S A CUTE DAWGY!!
