@nickma71 I put that in the wrong way, you're right, I men't to say... what happends is when you start to over boost the ecus safe guards tells the turbo's waste gate to open slowing the turbo's impeller speed causing the car to bleed boost until the time that the ecu deems it safe to add boost again.
@rotarypsi The wastegate actuator is mechanical, and the ECU has no control over it. When the airflow meter reaches a certain Hz, fuel is shut off. That is overboost fuel cut. It will be accompanied by DTC 34.
@Muzicsallitsworth yeah what muzic said the 7mgte is 3.0 liter inline 6 twin cam SINGLE turbo 24 valve beast anyone that would want to twin turbo it would be stupid . people have down it but i dont see why. Theres more power and torque in the 7m single turbo setup. Thats why the 1jz engines where lower displacement and twin turbo. The 2jz where 3.0 liters too but the 1jz and 2jz bottom ends are alot stronger than the 7m it would take alot on reinforcing to twin turbo the 7m so yeah...

i had a mk3 supra, it would rev upto 7,500 rpm no problem and on standard bottom end. tell head gasket went lol
i would not call that a quick run at all, my st165 would eat that alive 80 to 135mph probly near twice as quick. standard engine running 17psi no problems.
Im thinking of going back to the mk3 as i loved the one i had
dude it was running rich and obviouslt he wasnt even running all the way since he shifted at 5700 then 5000 twice. How bought a run to 180? Oh yea your celica tops out at 135 mph.
at the time of this video my a/f went no higher then 9:1 iwas in the middle of tunning my map ecu. and i need to balance my driveshaft to go over 160 (some scary shiz rite there!)
Erm its called a rev limiter and a car could bounce off it all day long and not go pop. Manufactures put it there to stop you over reving the engine not to warn you its about to go pop.
Nice, I have the same blowoff valve in my 91 Supra, I love the sound of it. What kind of horsepower is your car putting out? I have the GT35-R turbo in mine and yours seems quite a bit faster.

with a 3.73 rear end (the longest gear available) they top out at 165< that is the fastest they will go without modification

Me and a friend wrapped the speedo in 5th in his with a AEM tru boost set to 10lbs and an exhaust.
The little guy wearing his seatbelt on the guage indicates 170. Haha.

Actually it cuts off ignition, thats why you cant rev higher. and there is a fuel cut that has to do with boost if you didnt know.

its actually called redline, no fuel cut on my supra and no shortage of fuel. this motor has seen 25psi several times... way past fuel cut.

its not the speedo's fault, i have a 91 turbo speedo and tranny conected to an 88 no turbo rear. and the tach is off too redline shows at 5800.

Speedo appears to be out by quite a bit, 4000rpm in my 89 supra in top gear is 104mph gps. Yours is reading 100mph at 3200
