During the concert there was confusion between James and the stage crew, so James unknowingly stepped forward instead of backwards, and as a result he stepped into the pyrotechnic flame which was a Phosphorous flame burning at around 3200 degrees and shooting 12 feet above the stage. Nothing actually exploded.... It was all a miscommunication amongst the band and crew. It sad that it happened though. Metallica Rules!!!!!
