This piece brings out the dark and the light end of the spectrum and is actually very easy to learn and is usually the first song a piano teacher will teach you to play. But overall a BEAUTIFUL piece of music.
All the people who thumbs this music/comment agree that you'd have to have an I.Q. over 20 to fully appreciate this masterpiece. Another piece of info shown from liking this piece of music is you will most likely live a happy and fulfilling life, and actually contribute to society
How can anybody like this? Well, first off this is not a song, it is a piece of music. And why we like this you say? Well, I guess I.Q. numbers dont mean a lot to you. Let me put it this way: THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!!!! Not hot, not sexy, not cute, but beautiful. Ahh, today's society....
I'm seventeen and all throughout my youth I've listened to this great music, such a shame it's underappreciated and overlooked by most of society. And no SuperDirtyRandy, you're definitely not the only one, I fucking love this. And one more comment to add to this divinely amazing piece of epic music, Elise is one hell of a lucky girl. Such a wonderful song. Especially when you compare it to "Eyy baby I luv yew, yeah, uh, so lemme uh, stick my dick inside yewww uhh!" Silly garbage.
When people ask me "what music are you into?" I go all red and mumble that I'm not into music at all. I'm too embaressed to admit my secret obsession with Classical music...
I'm a 44 y.o. Black chick from Philly and for as long as I can remember, this piece has brought tears to my eyes, because it's been one of my favorites. I've always imagined it as two lovers conteracting. Don't know why.
@Downtowncb1 there is not much to explain as there is to listen; this is profound music that reminds me of the pendulum between love and hate, one cannot exist without the other. I recommend you search youtube for this as well, you will like it: "Gnossienne No. 4".
@Mtbfanro. I don't know why this moves me so much. I just know that since I was a little girl, I've always looooved this song. It was one of the first songs I tried to play when I attended Settlement. I have no talent but can appreciate true talent.
He was actually in love with Elise, his piano student. She was much younger than him, and when he proposed to her, she shot him down. I'm not really sure if she was married or just in love with someone else, but the song was written for her. It's lovely-3 I wish I could play the whole thing.
@berryfairy909 no in fact the original name was " für therese " but the historicians couldnt read what he wrote because of his ugly font so they though it was "elise". they were even lucky that they found this song. because beethoven didnt really release it or anything.
Sit down son and let me give you a music lesson. Ask Bach I got more cock than Smith & Wesson. Never say never? You'll never be forgotten. I've crafted masterpieces that have lasted throughout the ages. Your music gets you bitches on your Facebook pages!

@thisendlesshorizon ...and i read that this pice of beauty was not written for any Elisa, but for another persone that rejected Beethoven and that the persone that found this made a mistake by written wrong the name.
@snugidos002 i dont think having a time machine to steal his music would do u much good, u can thank justin bieber and lady gaga who have totally killed music and make people lose interest in it. :-(
I've never really taken the time to actually sit and listen to this song, and I'm glad that I did now. I regret not before. A really beautiful masterpiece.
I'm 11 and i play this like a pro. Not to be all like in myself but i might start posting covers.... I love this. As uncool as I may be for saying this but i love classic more than rock and pop. I might sound stupid but i am having fun unlike the other kids my age who can't look or listen to anything than their pop artists Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Justin etc. And I truly feel bad for them.
@rhettbutler96 What? Kids don't listen to that. Frank sinatra and dean martin are great. I wish kids listened to stuff like this and the rat pack and t instead of that rubbish Justin Bieber and stuff.
@mr4748a sure thats nice this song is quite genius i mean this is a masterpiece i'd like to see you try and do something like this i bet for you it would be imposible
One of the greatest composer of all time, and my favorite as well. Beethoven genius music will never be forgotten as long as humanity never dies. I will remember him as a genius who wrote, compose, played like no other, but I will never know him as a person. That doesn't bother me because when I listen to his music, I feel like I knew him all along.
