Amazing, just amazing, dare I say better than he original? I dare!!! Voice is incredible and the thought put into the guitar work really compliments it perfectly!!!!
Most great version... love your pauses before then come into the loud strong ... btw way what version of F chord are you playing? i cant do the 2 string basic chord...
@izzys11 Thank you... I can try and do a lesson here soon... It's super easy though... The picking/hammer on's are the only somewhat tricky part. The chords are simple. Capo on the 3rd. C, F, C, G, F, C (walk down) Am, F, G, C. That's the verse I believe... The chorus is Am, F, C, Am, F, G, Am, F, C, Am, G, F. The bridge is... Am, G, C, F, Am, G, C, F, Am, G, F, C (walk down) Am (walk down) F. C. Lots of chords I know... I may have messed some up, this is off of memory without a guitar in hand.
thanks... ummm yeah I have been debating doing instructional videos... If not I can always just tell you the chords. I think I figured it out by ear so not sure if there are any good tabs out there. It is pretty simple, but there are a lot of subtle changes.
why thank you... I have a few other Ryan Adams songs lined up for videos as well. "Winding Wheel", "Let it Ride", and a full band version of "Shadowlands".
Yeah sure... Not much to it. The mics are all cheap chinese made things. There are three (one is out of frame providing room tone). The guitar and room mic are KCM R25 ribbon mics, and the Vocal mic is a cheap tube mic a PPA LD-3. The preamp is simply my interface which is an M-Audio ProFire 2626. DAW is Logic Pro 8. Only Plug-In used was a bus limiter to keep sound levels high for the web. That's it... Nice and simple. The room ribbon I treated as an MS mic, doubling, panning, reverse phase.
Thank you so much for your concerns. Yeah, I felt better about a half a week after this was shot. I had symptoms up until the day before this was shot, I thought I was better and then they kicked in about 3 hours after this was taped. It was nasty... At this moment all I had were extreme back pains and my throat was killing me. :) The new videos (and future 4 to come) I was feeling quite better during. This is one of my favorites though. Thanks for the compliments!
For all those viewing... It may not look or sound like it, but my voice was completely shot and I was recovering from swine flu when this was recorded. I spent the rest of the weekend on a couch wishing for death it hurt so bad.
great country voice
