how do you choose a motherboard?

@J6Snipe First choose all components you want to use with your motherboard (memory / cpu / gpu / power / etc...). Then rule out all motherboards that cannot handle these components. Then balance out the choice between thee best (more fast) ones with your budget.

1:50 is probably the epic part. And you really don't need 3 way SLI for any gaming these days either. You can run Crysis on Ultimate SUPER MEGA ULTRA EXTREME setting with one GTX 280 card actually. Nice vid though.

@MrGAMESHELPER How the hell could you have 3 Radeon HD 5970's in CrossFireX? There's only an expansion slot on the video cards for 2-WAY CrossFireX on those dual GPU video cards. I would say that rig is quite counterfeit now. I'm sure if you had a rig that good to show off with the powerfullest video card in the world, you would have already done posted a video of it to your youtube account by now. So, epic fail, sir..

@JCOSTILLA2717 The 790i Ultra motherboard is only for LGA775 CPU's. The i5 and i7 quad core processors are LGA1366 sockets. If you got a core i5 on you right now and no motherboard at the moment, I would recommend you get Asus Rampage or an EVGA X58 motherboard for a i5/i7 quad core CPU..

@chorinicpker At the time (2 years ago) it was top of the bill. What is it exactly that's holding my cards back? Is it the cache? (12MB) Is it the clock speed? (3GHz) Is it the number of cores? (4x) Is it the bus speed? (4x 333MHz) Or is it maybe something else? I really would like to know!

You have lot of money if you can geth many items ,but on CRYSIS min FPS its kind low for minimum looking from your devices installed in computer ,3 videocard ,and 1200 w block ,and still isnt perfect ,its low for minimum FPS 25 FPS its minimum for your computer and high settings ???? thats lame ,i have much better ,but i doesnt have money to buy more RAM :) i have only 1 GB RAM , 1x GTS250 1GB version , Core 2 Duo E7500 2.93GHz ,i clock it on 3.05GHz , 600W block ,and motherboard GIGABYTE

you can use amd processors with nvidia sli. just need to make sure that the motherboard supports sli first.

The strain of the processing is spread across the 3 GPU's , you can also say that the performance is 3x better , although that is not completely true.

Wow, nice computer, since im 14, i have to stick with a iMac with a GeForce 7300GT and a MacBook with a GeForce 9400M, although the 9400M can play crysis on very high settings with shaders on low at around 10-15 fps, LOL
