i think a t hihger written levels hindi become s differnt tahn urdu but at colloquial level it is same

  • world most sweet and expressive langauge URDU.

  • This is Urdu and Hindi.

And by the way, it's "language", not "langauge".

  • thnks for "correction"its typing mistake:)

and its Urdu, hindi of to day took 95% words from Urdu, so u can say spoken hindi is Urdu.bye

  • Hindi didn't take words from Urdu. Hindi and Urdu have a huge portion of common vocabulary and an identical grammar because they originate from the same language. You can make up all the figures you want, but you obviously have no understanding of language or linguistics. Reading your comments is like watching a cook at McDonald's try to talk about nuclear physics.

    Bye.

  • I don't agree you.Sanskrit is the parent language of Hindi and Urdu is belongs to Arabic.Few words are similar in Hindi and Urdu,it doesn't mean that Hindi is a copy language of Urdu.Try to study of the history of languages and culture and don't underestimate other great languages and cultures.Bye.

  • Are you suggesting that Hindi comes from Sanskrit and Urdu comes from Arabic? Arabic is not even an Indo-European language. It is completely unrelated to Urdu. The linguistic origins of both Hindi and Urdu are from the Prakrits, but the vocabularies of both have been influenced by Persian and Arabic.

  • Prakrit is an Indo Aryan language,an apabhramsa version of Sanskrit.Urdu vocabulary is heavily drawn by Farsi,Persian and Arabic.Urdu script is in Nastaliq calligraphy style of the Perso Arabic script, but Hindi script is in Devnagari and the vocabulary is drawn by Sanskrit,so i don't agree you that Urdu is from Prakrit.I am not going to suggest you that it is an Indo European language.Urdu itself a Turkish word.U can understand well..

  • The Prakrits are a group of dialects that diverged from Sanskrit early and then gradually developed into the modern Indo-Aryan languages, including Hindi and Urdu. Both Urdu and Hindi are based on a single dialect: the Khariboli dialect. This is why they have identical grammars. Not just similar, but IDENTICAL. They share every grammatically related feature from grammatical inflections to verb tenses and moods to pronouns to the ergative system.

  • The name "Urdu" is derived from a Turkish word, but this has nothing to do with the actual language. The word "Swahili" comes from the Arabic word "saahil", meaning "coast". Swahili has many words borrowed from Arabic, but it is not related to Arabic.

Urdu is an Indo-European language, while Arabic is an Afro-Asiatic one and Turkish is a Turkic one. Urdu's grammar is closely parallel to that of its sister Indo-Aryan languages.

  • Urdu and Hindi is developed in the same geographical region.Urdu was developed under the ruling age of Mughal empire after 16th century.I agree u that grammatically few verbs, pronouns and tenses are developed in same way,but it's seventy percent vocabulary is drawn by persian and arabic.I want to remind you that 4 month ago you post a comment in this subject .you already agreed that Urdu and Hindi is developed from two different languages.

  • Please show me where I said that Urdu and Hindi developed from two different languages, because this is untrue.

Please read my posts again if you do not understand. Grammatically, Hindi and Urdu do not just share a "few verbs, pronouns, and tenses". They are GRAMMATICALLY IDENTICAL. They are identical in all grammatical aspects, including pronouns, direct and oblique noun cases, ALL verb tenses, ALL verb moods, ALL declensions, ALL inflections, and ALL syntactical constructions.

  • "seventy percent vocabulary is drawn by persian and arabic"

Yes, this is true. But this represents the LEXICAL inventory of Urdu. Do you understand the difference between lexical and grammatical aspects of a language. While Urdu and Hindi may have different lexical inventories at the academic level, they are still GRAMMATICALLY identical. The borrowed vocabulary of a language does not change its geneological origins.

  • (cont'd)

You are correct when you say that Urdu's vocabulary is heavily drawn from Persian and Arabic. However, these borrowed aspects are mostly lexical items, not grammatical ones, and have little to do with the actual geneological origins of Urdu. English draws a huge portion of its own vocabulary from French and Latin, which are Romance languages. However, English is not a Romance language. It is a Germanic language just like German, Swedish, and Dutch.

  • You are correct that Urdu is written in Nastaliq while Hindi is written in Devanagari. However, the orthography of a language has nothing to do with its grammatical properties or geneology. English, Hungarian, and Vietnamese are all written in the Roman script, but none of these languages is related to one another. Turkish used to be written in the Arabic script but now it is written in the Roman script. Turkish is related neither to Latin nor Arabic.

  • Sanskrit was written in several different Indian scripts, and Panjabi is another example, being written in both the Gurmukhi and Shahmukhi scripts.

Hindi and Urdu both have many Persian loan words, although some Hindi speakers avoid these words, for example saying "sapta" instead of "hafta" for week.

I think the reasons for defining Hindi and Urdu as fully separate languages, rather than as dialects, have more to do with ideology than with linguistics.

  • "I think the reasons for defining Hindi and Urdu as fully separate languages, rather than as dialects"

I agree with you. The labelling of Hindi and Urdu as two different languages is politically and religiously motivated. Linguistically, it's hard to call two languages "different" when their underlying grammar is virtually identical.

  • All languages keep same sweetness and expressin power everywhere in the world, but to understand it,that is the main thing. But you have so dirty thinking, shit.

  • I had heard that she was suffering from Breast Cancer...that was really sad!!! But I think she is fine now.....

  • Yes you rightly heard that Mumtaz had breast cancer. She had undergone treatment and had recovered. But I think that she has now some drug reactions or some complication and has put on lot of weight.

  • What you say is garbage.. getting cancer is normal for muslims. The muslim people eat beef and that fosters estrogen levels in body. For career she used to eat lot of beef and that pays in the old age with elevated levels of cancerous growths..probably her doctor forbid her from eating beef now so she recovered..

  • You are saying that Muslims get cancer because they eat beef? Please take your distorted, fictitious claims elsewhere. You are full of hate.

  • Muslims get cancer not just due to eating beef but eating by the practice called Halali and their evil intention to make the whole world Islamic, and try to impose their psyche on everyone..

  • Your idea that Muslims get cancer from eating beef and practicing Halal is very intriguing, but please explain what evidence you are basing this on?

You may disagree with these practices, but please don't make ridiculously false claims about them. Personally, I am not fond of the practice of Halal, but I know there is no evidence that it causes cancer.

  • See her face log of estrogen. It shows up when they are young whether they get breast cancer or not. That estrogen also gets wetness and great looks. Sometimes its better not to be very attractive.

  • What a nutter -are you for real ???.....where do you get your garbage from ..??? Unbelievable !!!!!

  • Nice song.

  • I am a crazy viewer of hindi films.i watch so many films that i can't remember. When review it,i remember.Madhubala to Katrina, there are so many actresses, they come and go,but only Mumu is so unforgottable, why?I don't know.

  • I have no idea about Emperor Shahjahan's wife Mumtaz Mahal beauty, but our Actress Mumtaz is the one who ascertained my being a male much before my puberty. Trust me I am not trying to be cheap, this is an honest confession. Most Indian lead heroines had beauty but Mumtaz is no doubt had the most effect on male hormones. Her beauty is beyond words and she also seems to be a wonderful human being.

  • You are very right in saying that Mumtaz is the Most Beautiful and the Best Actress of Hindi Films! She can beat any other heroine - past or present - hollow in beauty or talent. She is the best thing that has ever happened to Hindi Films! Know more about her on her site.

  • You are absolutely right that her beauty is beyond words. But to be like her only beautiness is not efficient.Because she is Mumtaz.

  • rajesh!

  • the world most sweet and expressive langauge URDU. URDU itself music, melody, song, poetry, love, romance, feeling, emotion, civilization, culture, history, manners

    respect,perfume.

another name of URDU is also TAJMAHAL.

10000000000000000000 PURE URDU SONG WITH ITS BEAUTY& CHARM.

  • The language used in Indian songs is common to both Hindi and Urdu. From a linguistic perspective, they can not be differentiated at that level. The difference between Urdu and Hindi becomes more apparent in academic or technical speech where Urdu draws heavily from Persian and Arabic and Hindi draws from Sanksrit.

The language of Indian songs is Hindi AND Urdu. They are both beautiful languages. Your hatred, however, is ugly.

  • Sanskrit is very erudite language. Its not a vulgar language like Persian. Its hard to understand Sanskrit and hindu holy scriptures and vedic hymns are in sanskrit which many of us listen every day but dont understand. Indian government should do a lot to promote Sanskrit by making it compulsory subject in preuniversity schooling for people to understand what they are listening and chanting almost every day and during holy hindu festivals...

  • Why are you calling Persian a "vulgar" language? Just like Sanskrit, Persian is one of the world's important classical literary languages. Persian is descended from Avestan, which was an ancient language contemporaneous with Sanskrit and closely related to it.

Why should Sanskrit be compulsory in India? India is a secular democracy. Not everyone in India is a Hindu. People should be free to choose whether they want to understand Hindu hymns or not. You can't force your religion onto others.

  • Sanskrit is not compulsory in India. There are people who take pride in studying French, Russian, Spanish in India than Hindi or other Indian languages. You stupid dont know anything about India, you simply listen to dirty minorities in India who in turn are exploited by their minority Politicians. I dont know Sanskrit..

  • You said:

"Indian government should do a lot to promote Sanskrit by making it compulsory subject in preuniversity schooling for people to understand what they are listening and chanting almost every day and during holy hindu festivals"

I know that Sanskrit is not compulsory in India, but you suggested that it SHOULD be. I opposed this idea because. Please make sure you understand what is being said before you call other people "stupid".

  • "you simply listen to dirty minorities in India who in turn are exploited by their minority Politicians."

India is a land full of minorities. Historically, India has been a land where people of many different ethnic, cultural, linguistic, and religious backgrounds have lived together . It's what makes India beautiful. Of course, India is not immune to intergroup tensions, but it is one of the most diverse countries in the world.

Dirty minorities? Not as dirty as your hateful thinking.

  • Everybody in the world should learn Sanskrit because it is not language of Indians but it is language of gods. Its grammer is perfect. NASA thought of using it as their language because it did not need updating like microsoft windows every two years.

  • Sanskrit is a beautiful language but the idea that it is the "languages of gods" is your religious belief. Please don't use your own religious beliefs to enforce things on people who don't share your faith.

  • Mumtaz is only one my favourite actress.I like this song, one of her best. When i was just11 year old,i watch it.she was so beauty that i can't forget.

  • I don't think that anyone who has seen her, can ever forget her!

  • i actually like the remix better 4 this song.

  • i love this song!!

    Mumtaz is a legend

    i love her :)

  • can someone tell me the name of a movie Mumtaz was in. the movie starts out in a train where a girl is going home, and on the same train is Mumtaz. the girl convinces Mumtaz to switch places with her, and she agrees. while on the train the girl also teachers Mumtaz how to behave more "upper class". someone please help as it is one of my childhood favorites. thanks

  • It is Shararat, with Bishwajit. The girl was in love with somebody else, so she asks Mumtaz to take her place.

  • Is the movie you are thinking of "Pattar ke Sanam"?

  • YESSIR! Lakshmi Pyare were in top form and Anand Bakshi was right there with them!

I have always thought that this number and 'dil vil pyaar vyaar' are two of Lata's most memorable 'masti' songs!

  • A BOLLYWOOD GEM

  • This song was the advent of Punjabi words in Hindi/Urdu songs. By this time Laxmi-Pyarey and Anand Bakshi were in Heaven 7. Melody, simple words, rhythm, big orchestra. Finally LP were giving the best that was in 1970s. God Bless....

  • so pretty, so beautiful, so right. one night i watched the vid 20 straight times, MUMTAZ!
