  • @ironbar100 Have you seen the camp? They'd have a better chance of surviving without a host (which a parasite generally cannot) than you or I, being as we are entrenched in a system of supports.

Why are they filth? At least they're willing to fight for what they believe, not just sit around and complain about how no-one's fixed all our problems yet.

A society which is violent (ie less "light-handed") with protests like this would not be civil in any respect.

  • So let me get this straight. Shell forcibly took this land away from the local farmers under a compulsory purchase order? The locals had no say in the matter even though they owned the land which they'd farmed for generations. The Gardia whose 'normal' job it would be to protect the people switched roles to protect the corporate interests of Shell instead. If this is what has happened the Gardia's actions are despicable, tantamount to treason against the very people they're supposed to protect.

  • bunch of hippies.

  • SHELL HAS RE-BRANDED TO TOPAZ BOYCOTT IT

  • these protesters are a f**kin joke.... imagine having nothing better to do then lie under a van for 14 hours?

they give out on their web page about heavy goods veichles poluting the area, they're the spas keepin de machines there, sitting on them, lying under them, standing in front of them...

so frustrating.... not a brain cell between them.

  • @jorlelen The HGVs would be there, even if the protestors were not...

Imagine being willing to lie under a van for even two hours, in the rain and cold, because you honestly believe that the Irish people and their country were being plundered for the benefit of multinational corporations who will use us as one does a condom and then throw us to the wind in a similar fashion?

  • @sheldonplankton yes they would be there but not for hours and hours with morons lying under them...

i believe if u feel strongly enough about something u would voice ur opinions not lie under vans and trucks..... looking ridiculous...

TMI with the condom comment... keep ur campsite antics to urself....

  • @jorlelen And they don´t voice their opinions?????? Civil disobedience is a way to get your voice heard when it is being ignored.

  • Har de fucking har. I'm an English contractor and I'm gonna work over there and not only fuck up the short sighted, stupid locals, but take your euros away from your country! Get a fucking grip. Where did the power come from so you could have your daft drum banging parties and sleep over? Fossil fuels. STFU and deal with it.

  • @000bubblehead000 Har de fucking har, I´m a filthy crusty who´s going to go to daft drum banging parties and hippy festivals where a big part of the focus is on changing attitudes and habits, and trying to foster ecological solutions which will be available to everyone. I should be driving to work all week then slamming lager down my throat at the weekend like all good slaves know they should.

  • all these vids are the same, krusties from everywhere but mayo looking for a fight with the guards. theres very little mention of the cause locals are fighting for. i feel for the locals because of blow ins coming in with their own agenda

  • @cpl60dillon All of your comments are the same, you trolling bastard. Everyone has their own agenda, remember that.

  • w smireland..........your full of shit my taxes pay for the gardai.......and ye fucking smelly dole mates now piss off

  • spot spot the hippees spot spot spot spot the hippees!!!!!!!!!!!!!! get off the dole u fuckers and make ur time on earth worthwhile by getting a job!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's odd the people in the South chanting the people united will never be defeated when the north is still on it's own in a way worse economic position once you get the Shell Corporation to leave all the gas in the ground where it belongs and to stop killing people in the Niger delta then you can remove the partition and free the north from oppression as it should have been with the south. Keep up the struggle in all ways!

  • Comment removed

  • i think ye are entitled to protest...whatever turns ya on but for gods sake get rid of the ENGLISH hippie types that have joined your campaign...dont put yerselves in their bracket for fuck sake

  • what a shower a hippy cunts........the tide wudn take ye wankers......the gardai cleaned up on overtime thanx to ye....laughing stock

  • @nevin21ful I can count on two hands what your IQ is

  • Have ye any fuckin work to be going to?

  • whats the problem, its only mayo(THE MOST HATED COUNTY IN IRELAND)

  • All iIsee is a group of people assaulting gardai by pushing against them and trying to cause criminal damage by tearing down a fence. They called for extra gardai because of the mob getting more aggressive. The majority of the people of Rossport have no objection. Its a small majority and a whole lot of blow in's and misfits, English crusties, and criminals. The gardai are upholding the law of the land so go fuck yourselves.

  • We in Longford support Shell, Go well Go shell

  • fuck you premier you brittish bastard!!get the fuck out of ireland you pussy!

  • Fuck Off Yee dirty Smelly Protestor Cunts. Yee are a waste to society, go fuck off and hug some trees before they are cut down for super infrastructure.

  • I think the protesters who complain about the Gardai should maybe not conduct themselves like criminals! Pulling down barriers and damaging property of contractors while complaining about brutality of the Gardai is ridiculous.

  • You cannot possibly compare damaging property which was illegally erected to attacking another human being.

  • Yea some of the Guards are also pushed through the wire by their fellow Guards but from the video its pretty clear who is pushing whom in what direction and except at one end its the campaigners with their back to the wire.

  • 'they push us through the barbed wire'

Notice that it is the Guards who go through the barbed wire. Also, the fence may have been erected 'illegaly', that still does not give you the right to tear it down. Oh, and another thing, my views of the protesters their was changed from 'peaceful' to 'damnright ignorant' when one protester made disgusting comments about a Garda who was killed in the line of duty...explain that...

  • This struggle has gone on nearly a decade at this time and has involved 1000's of people. All sorts of stuff has been said in the heat of the moment by individuals on all sides. An IRMS employee (they guard the compound for Shell) put up a vid where he calls Pat an Irish pig.

  • I accept that the Shell guards are basically untrained low lifes, but you are comparing someone who was called a pig to someone who died in the line of his work tragically!

  • make up your mind who you have the problem with. is it shell? their security? the guards? or all of the above and anybody else who disagrees with ye??

  • it is wrong to say anything bad about a garda killed doing his job . its the local people my heart goes to

  • very honest and true comment mrtyuil... good point

  • It's true that the existence of the campaign has forced Shell to spend millions trying to buy off local opposition and that some when offered a years earning for abandoning a few days work have taken the money. The one's who haven't tend to be the ones who are fishing the bay where the refinery effluent will be pumped into rather than those on the atlantic shore and further off shore who basically got to pocket 40k for nothing.

  • how do the guards 'effectively work for shell'!? the campaign you support has garnered a huge deal of support and as a result large crowds gather in the area. when such crowds assemble there is ALWAYS a threat of riot or violent disorder (not all protests remain peaceful). the guards are simply there to police such a situation. they are not there because they have a strong opinion on the matter. believe me,if a private security force were left to do it ye'd be the ones calling for the guards!

  • If you review the videos here and elsewhere it is clear that the Gardai are not standing to one side intervening when Shell's security or the campaigners get out of hand. They are the first line of defence for Shell, quite literally in this video where they are outside the fence and the private security are inside it. 49 million of state money has been spent imposing the Shell project to date.

  • ha! if they were standing inside WITH the shell security you'd be up in arms!! you people are so blinded by your own objectives that ye have lost the ability to reason! ye have convinced yereselves that this is what the whole country wants...well its not! even people who dont have a strong opinion either way dont want to see all that money wasted on garda overtime but it is absolutely necesssary given the way some of the protesters conduct themselves.

  • out of all the fishermen from the area only 6 did not accept the money offered to them by shell for disrupting their business!! the rest of them have said that most of their business isnt even affected!!

  • the gardai work for the irish people. unlike the IRA and foreign eco warriors who are draughted in to cause mayhem in erris and glengad. shell are a company whos property is protected under the constitution of the irish state. the gardai are there to enforce that protection. grow up the lot of you. everyone is laughing at you. especially the guards who are making a fortune in overtime dealing with you idiots

  • You miss the point - The politicians did not negotiate in the interest of the Irish population - the billions that will be made from this oil would be more than enough to bail Ireland's economy out of recession, but it stands to get fuck all. These people are trying to protect their local area from pollution as well. Where's the solidarity with your fellow people?!

  • i didnt miss the point. the billions shell will make have nothing to do with the comments that the gardai are working directly for shell. that was my point. Of course the deal with shell was terrible and corrupt. unfortunately its signed and sealed. the off shoot of this deal however will provide employment directly with shell and indirectly for the businesses in the area. abusing the ordinary garda doing his job is a disgrace and is blantantly an act of eirigi and other dissadents influence.

  • @Prokick2008 Your an ejget. Look what they did at the student protest in Dublin. They're fucking scum.

  • What we really need captainjaynor is just to roll over and let Shell take all the resources, bribe politicians and do nothing about it. Only a few locals should ever be concerned about the general rip-off of resources and the environmental damage. That makes loads of sense.

  • Aye Aye Captain.. harharharharhar Plenty of locals.. the nicest oul farmers.. ful of the wisdom of the West.. 'use your fuckin head' etc And I did.. though not as you'd expect. If one were a bit less like Paul Williams one would state that there wasn't a lot of bravery by them gurriers/ harriers who kicked and stamped on my head as I lay on the ground.. The video was poor in comparison to some IRMS will edit and post from accounts like yours. 44 years old. Read Ryan's report fopping pedrofile!
