  • Wherever I My Roam ???

  • To much puking of tones and crazy facial expressions for my taste

  • o cara é foda de mais !!!

  • Consistently awesome....

  • awesome! Blu-Ray and DVD very fanfriendly priced aswell!

Really threats Mr Vai put's out there!

  • This songs title reminds me of Taurus and Bulbasaur

  • Love this Tune !!!

  • No offense and full respect to Vai...

But doesn't the rhythm guitar section sound a little bit too much like Metallica's "wherever I may roam"? (watch?v=UWlSw5Kb0dg)

  • Was that John Petrucci on stage with Steve?

  • @timthehippie That's Dave Wiener playing the second guitar.

  • i love dave weiner's guitar playing adn his riff of the week channel

  • Jeremy Colson was a ROCK on this tune.......Nice drumming!....

  • this it is the best exsprecion form in the world

  • OH YEAH..I have to say it again and again.......total beauty..the whole version is incredible!

  • Taras Bulba was a Russian novel about a cossack in Ukraine... I dont know if Steve vai realises it.

  • Man.. i'd kill to hear the entire Fire Garden Suite live. Only saw taurus bulba live .. and Angel Food

  • this video is guitar porn

  • He's definitely not very good -- and that, of course, is a joke of unprecedented sarcasm. Steve Vai is amazing and I wish more guitarists would strive to emulate his style because most rock guys of this era seem to know little more than the three most basic chords.

  • Who s Taurus Bulba?

    An turkisch president? hahahahahahaha

  • amazing!!!

  • Where's Virgil Donati? :/ Jeremy Colson is one hell of a drummer though.

  • you know why cause joe was vais mentor shit heads.

  • When starting Vai, the sound is very similar to "War" by Joe Satriani...

  • FUCK YEA!

  • Fregostyle, your english befuddles me. Go back to school and come back when you've received the education of at least a third grader.

  • Steve vai are my guitarist please of raising it of for the love of god of your new dvd I am charmed with this song

  • his pants are cracking me up!

  • Orianthi ROCKS !!!

    Love Steve Vai

  • Lets, get, DANGEROUS

  • this breaks the house down!

  • On the Fire Garden Album it needs to be listend to at the max volume your speakers will allow with the sound becoming distorted - makes the hairs on my neck stand to attention

  • @TheBantlingboy YES I DID THAT! IT WAS MY TEST SONG WHEN I FIRST GOT MY 1000WATT HOME ENTERTAINMENT STEREO! BLASTED THE WINDOWS OFF HAHA

  • Fantastic video from the master STEVE VAI himself !!

    AWESOME VIDEO AND PERFORMANCE

  • I was just listen to the this version on my CD and I had to find out if it was on Youtube. It's time to get the DVD :-)

  • I was thinking the same, lol

  • stve vai mang ok.. gw suka gayanya..

  • not a fan of this song. Steve's guitar makes me smile, tho.

  • this entire ballad Bangkok, Fire Garden Suite Bull Whip Pusa Road Angel Food is a fucking masterpiece. How could you not like it if you like Vai? This is quintessential Vai.

  • Amazing guitar man!

    Five stars!

  • This 53 second video has caused me to purchase his stupid video on Blu-Ray disc.

    UGH

  • is that bad? id think it was a Great thing

  • that mans been down 2 them crossroads again.onya vai

  • He always sounds better when he plays on Evo than any other guitar.

  • wo jem 555

  • Wow, he's got such amazing energy on stage.

I saw him at LIMS this year nad he's amazing, i'd recommend him to any guitar player of any calibur.

  • eski tonunu kaybetmiş.. :S

  • this is one of the coolest songs steve has done

  • Ronaldo!

  • Holy Flocking Sheep Herders this rocks! Love the Pousa Road intro too

  • "Welcome to the heavy metal section of the show.." SV

  • amen to that! haha

  • @enfermomayor : yeah! He says that by Bad Horsie at the astoria london!!

  • For me, listening to Vai's music is like drinking coffee at a young age: Im not the biggest fan at first, but later on I just cant seem to stop playing it. BTW I seemed to have noticed that most of Vai's music resonates really loudly on my Ibanez RG, like Ill have my Peavey JSX on like 2 (on clean) in Volume when I play anyone else's music, and itll seem like its at 6 when I play Vai's stuff.

  • exactly the same for me, when i first heard vai i was like, wtf is this cheese. But now i listen to nothign but vai 24 hours a day XD

  • sigh... I miss the old Vai days...

  • The problem with any Steve Vai live DVD is any real fan knows it's been editing and tweaked within an inch of it's life because Vai is a perfectionist so in the end you're not seeing an accurate representation of his live show. Steve himself admits he makes a lot of mistakes live so I don't know why he keeps making these live DVD's, his talent is most realized as a studio creator.

  • Yeah .. he even says as much on the liner of Sound Theories where he talks about plucking notes from one show and popping it into another. I was at the Minneapolis show and watched both the rehearsal and performance. I'm very curious about the differences.

  • I don't know why he's putting out so many of these live DVD's when his talents seem most realized as a studio creator.

The amount of distortion he requires to pull of his playing while being able to flail around at the same time makes his guitar almost unlistenable. I actually left this show early because my ears hurt so bad because his screeching harmonics and those two violins on top of it. And the thing is: i'm a huge fan but he's really just lost his way.

  • I have to ask have you ever seen him live?

  • uh, yes. i saw him with Whitesnake, then G3, at a record store showing with just himself and backing tracks, in a small club in Providence, RI with Mike Kennealy, and at the Berklee School of Music for String Theories. His show has gotten increasingly shrill and the addition of these two screeching violins certainly doesn't help. Love his studio work but live, he needs to simplify.

  • Wow, I love the violins. Vai rules in the studio or on stage. IMHO

  • In my humble opinion-

Steve vai - whther u like his music or not- is the best guitar player the world has seen.

What about hendrix i hear u ask? Hendrix was the best ARTIST.

    Thats just my opinion.

  • steve vai has done great things and very cool stuff with guitar... his musical language is limitless.. the way he uses harmony its unique... his technique, his phrases... i think steve vai is the best guitar player in the history of mankind.... or Godkind, whatever.... steve vai is god...

  • Kill yourself.

  • Gee, I hope "boring and unappealing" gets me multiple DVD's, throngs of fans, and a hot violin player one day. *rolleyes*

  • This JEM 555 is not JEM 555. His Guitar is EVO, this is guitar with very cool history. :)

  • It's not a 555. It's a 7V

  • Steve Vai is GUITAR!! I can hardly wait til the 29th. When I get it (the DVD), I will have it playing through the stereo(BLASTING), eating popcorn and just enjoying the heck out of it! Like I said, "Steve IS guitar".

  • thats great

i hated just the accoustic part

  • Its just because you just don't get it..

  • That comment just shows how closed-minded you are..

  • commenting on how amazing Vai is would be redundent. But why a bolt on neck? it makes me crazy

  • he played with a jem 555 ??

  • the guy on bass practically does nothing haha

  • I think I'm gonna buy the Jemini Pedal :D

  • Will you inspire me man !!! hug ...

  • SOLID

  • you can never go wrong in phrygian mode

  • holy fuck this guy is sick

  • Oh My God Steve!!49 years !!!You looks and play awesome!!!You are the best!!

  • "..The opening song on the DVD is in a brisk 25/32 time signature..."... I think it is only a question of time till Steve comes up with 777/1024 time :D

  • dude, for a man like steve vai, the fact of being or no being gay, is so ridiccusly meaningless, that's not even worth it all the writing... not even the thinking about it. In other words, who da phuck kares if he is gay or not?

  • Good! I've been waiting for him to play this piece for 15 years now. Fire Garden is one of the greatest albums of the 20th Century and definitely Vai's masterpiece!

  • SV is way ahead of himself, "modern virtuoso" = producer, performer, showmanship... etc etc...

and for those who call Steve gay, if that's what it takes to like like him when im 49, well fck it, I'm in!

    Cheers!

  • Stop Judging..Vai,Buckethead,Slash,Gilbert,Yngwie,Zakk,Layho,Satriani,Angelo,....n the rest, all of them is so cool.Try To Accept them would u.what, can u do better?nah..i dun know u..who r u..who's steve?everyone know him n most of the people love him..music show..

  • I love Musik from Steve Vai. His Musik is for me and for my Life very very good

  • HOT !!!! Period . . .

  • Gotta get on up of Jeramys' funky wee Drum kit costume.

  • I dont know if some of you remember this, but Taurus Bulba was the villian in the cartoon show darkwingduck :). BTW, Steve vai is great, cant wait for this DVD :)

  • FELHO VOCÊ TOCA DE MAIS NOSSA..!!

  • Great production from this dvd... Steve rocks!!!

  • What happened to Tony Macalpine?

  • He's touring with Planet X :)

  • Then why must you watch? Can't refrain from watching your idol? haha

  • fuck u men

  • shame too see getting thumbs down while i was commenting on a dude that called Steve gay...

  • Hey,why so many thumbs down dude?

  • dude shut the fuck up...you dont like his music, why do you bother to look it up?

  • i do like his music you douchebags, i was just commenting a some dude that called Vai gay because of his stage apearence..i love Steve, i think its one of the best ever lived..

  • This is why youtube really needs to fix their comment system

  • Only guys with penis envy accuse straight guys of being gay.

  • so so so so true! haha

  • @beautifulmusical hey i am pretty sure that he isnt gay but i have to ask is he?

  • @zanaman6 My take on it, is that I forget about that "non-issue", and instead focus on his music. That sounds a bit pretentious and PC, I know, but it's my honest opinion in this case.

  • Hahahah you're JEALOUS. Sucks to be you.

  • satrianis "war" i think

  • Steve in action. This is what i like! :)

  • VAI IS THE BEST!!!

  • Bring on "THE SATCH" anyday!!!

  • Magnifique.....

  • It's incredible how Hank Marvin's guitar playing ideas are so clearly heard in Steve's playing. Hank is still the best after 50 years.

  • buckethead is good but vai puts more emotion in his playing,,

  • yes diek claymation when vai comes in souds like lie (awake) second solo intro

  • First 40 seconds sound kinda Petrucci/DreamTheater-like. Me like it (=

  • This guy is so creative and has all the skills to epress his creativity. He practically owns the guitar and music theory. If you would ask me I would say that mr Vai has done well and would I personally like to thank him for the stuff he creates for us to enjoy.

  • i agree with you, but some (if not most) of the stuff he knows comes from joe satriani. joe taught steve wen he was young.

  • wheres tony mcalpine???did he get fired or h e quit??

  • pretty sure tony, billy n virgil donati all went on tour together around that time.

  • Ann Marie Calhoun is sooo beautiful!

  • what a tease!!! Can't wait for this DVD to come out! Already pre-ordered it through Amazon!

  • Buckethead ftw

  • Lol Buckethead just plain totally sucks against Steve Vai. BucketHead isn't really impressive.

  • Fire Garden Suite....

  • There are a lot of extremely talented and able guitarists in the world, and I'm not one to select one as their better, but if you put a gun to my head, I'd have to say Steve Vai, in my opinion is the best.

  • My Guitarfather.

  • Mad Skills

  • video looks awesome

  • Steve Vai=The God of Guitar!!!

  • buckethead in his opinion is better. stupid people should stop having opinions then...

  • lol

    serious?

buckethead is just a normal guitarrist like much others we see, but with a bucket head.. nothing special

  • well take a listen in my channerl for some of buckethead's music

  • Bloody AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Shock!!!!

    Tear

  • i think this song was inspired by Satrianis "war"

  • yeah i picked that out aswell

  • You're fuckin right!! xD

I said the same thing when I fisrt listened to this...

  • Vai's a fuckin god, but I feel his whammy bar tricks get in the way during this song. It's a bit excessive.

  • that girls playing the violin is hawt. and the music is good too :D

  • fuckin sick come down to SF

  • im buying this dvd

  • wow !!! "taurus bulba" live ! wanna see the whole dvd !

  • Steve please respond to this you and one other guitarist are my favorites. i was wondering im learning guitar too and what do u think of epiphone guitars??? please respond. it would be an honor if you could.

  • sorry dude but i think he´s not

  • If you respect Steve so much, buy an Ibanez...

  • Epiphone ? You can do better than that chataigne1. There are alot of lower end Ibanez and Jackson guitars that blow away even some of the top of the line Epiphones.

  • awesome ... im waiting in portugal

  • your tone sounds different. a better different!!!!!! its sick!!!!!!!!!! maybe its the jemini lol

  • too short. come on! you can give us more than that!

  • u gotta buy the dvd for that :P

  • Awesome

  • All the times I've seen you play, I've never caught you play this song, oh how many years I've been waiting to hear it live!

  • Epic

  • Gooood

  • uhmm I play both Guitar and Violin.

The intonation on violin is rather hard, you might do ok with fretless guitars and basses but violins are veeery small, you've gotta be VERY precise, specially higher on the neck.

Another thing is getting a good tone, you gotta move the bow A LOT, and it's easy to accidentally play other strings while bowing a single one

Also a nice vibratto is rather hard.

BTW: violin also has a lot of right hand techniques... so that comment was really wrong xD

  • I need that dvd!!!!

  • steve vai rulez!!! :3

  • Love that part of the song!! How lame are people in the US at concerts! so godamn boring! you should get shot! how can you be so still in a Vai concert??

  • aw man i wanna see more!!!!!!!!

  • Steve's in great shape!

  • whos the violin player? She's smokin hot!

  • Yeah! Who is she?

  • Ann Marie Calhoun.

  • i think i know who's better than Joe Satriani now...your a god at guitar!

  • WE ARE WAITING FOR YOU IN FRANCE

  • amazing!

  • steve vai is awesome and hes coming to romania :D

  • Grazie Stefano!
