Faith Hill is a wonderful person, such a talented recording artist. Taylor Swift reminds people of a young Faith. Many of the same qualities, that's why Taylor is so well liked by many in music today, and very respected. The CMA's are credible with Taylor Swift winning.

Carrie's already had 9 #1 (with one already to chart #1 soon) on the COUNTRY charts. taylor's last 2 singles barely even made it to the top 10 on the country chart and did better on pop. While she had it chart elsewhere-she has never remixed or compromised country music in any way.

The true test of whether an artist is kind and humble is if they can be that way when they no longer win. No one stays on top forever, things change quickly, esp in country music. When an artist is at the height of career, they can be nominated and win top awards, then get nominated but no longer win. They go from performing at award shows to being presenters, then sit in audience and maybe get recognized for humanitarian work.

What a great Entertainer she is, works the hardest of any Country Artist right now. Her stage 'props' add to a great show, she has a huge arena to perform to. She is the Number 1 artist today, Any genre.

Carrie's already had 9 #1 (with one already to chart #1 soon) on the COUNTRY charts. taylor's last 2 singles barely even made it to the top 10 on the country chart and did better on pop. While she had it chart elsewhere-she has never remixed or compromised country music in any way.

The true test of whether an artist is kind and humble is if they can be that way when they no longer win. No one stays on top forever, things change quickly, esp in country music. When an artist is at the height of career, they can be nominated and win top awards, then get nominated but no longer win. They go from performing at award shows to being presenters, then sit in audience and maybe get recognized for humanitarian work.

She handled that as well as anyone could, esp at her young age. Taylor is special, her voice beautiful. I still prefer her for slower songs.

@Temple95 LOL sure... so? carrie's won all 3 awards at people choice too in 2008. Sure, taylor's a beautiful and sweet girl I'm not saying she shouldn't have people defending her bc I don't like what KANYE did at all. and she did handle with much class. props to her. but that doesn't mean if she can't sing in tune that she can. She can sell millions more albums like britney spears but that doesn't mean anything.

@countrymusicCC, it is just wrong how people on this site are disrespecting Taylor Swift. I like Britney Spears, but she never appeared on RS cover, album she wrote given the coveted 5 Stars. The Grammy's, music industry highest acheivement all genres, Taylor won album of the year. She is very respected in the music industry today, and very well liked. If she couldn't sing she wouldn't be all over the radio, wouldn't be given a record contract in country music at all. I love her voice.

She is not as respected as carrie/miranda/martina/faith. Carrie gets standing Os almost everytime but taylor doesn't even with all the stunts. Oh, she sounds great on the radio. show last year when taylor won. Sure she might be able to jump around and create excitement but she's not the vocalist that carrie or the other nominees are. You can say that a entertainer doesn't have to be able to sing in tune...but this IS a SINGER/ENTERTAIN type of award. I'm glad the ACM made the right decision. I'm sure the country fans will have more faith in these awards shows now. Carrie and Miranda are the most underrated artists-they deserve a lot more

You know, it really doesn't matter how much album or how popular or how much carrie toured. It's the QUALITY. Sure, carrie was just a new artist but she had something that was so special and made her and her music priceless. Martina certainly has a great deal of respect for carrie and carrie deserved it. Just bc taylor's toured more than carrie or got the EOTY at the CMAs. they don't mean a thing to people who really love country music. I know a lot of country fans lost faith in the award

Taylor Swift is reining CMA EOTY and Top Vocalist. That award show is in Nashville, the heart of Country Music. It is from industry insiders, the ACM awards a national group that wants to be more relevant like AI so started to let fan's vote. Ask any country artist which award means more, CMA's. Anyway no artist is on top for long, esp in country music. All Country Music artists are talented, but even the best on top only a few years. No longer win, then no longer nominated.

Taylor Swift also performed CMT Crossroads last year, such a good concert with Def Leppard. This year she's been in a movie, appeared on SNL and is currently Headlining a sold-out tour in Europe! What a great Entertainer she is, works the hardest of any Country Artist right now. Her stage 'props' add to a great show, she has a huge arena to perform to. She is the Number 1 artist today, Any genre.

No one is more connected to their fans than Taylor, no one is more appreciative of them. She is so genuine, such a kind and humble person. Her personality reminds me of a young Faith, so adorable. They are close friends, not surprising. She recently recognized Faith when receiving Entertainer of Year at CMA's.

@Temple95 carrie is also very connected to her fans too and has a very loyal fanbase. While taylor's been self promoting herself everywhere from videos on youtube to tweeter-carrie's just been doing her own thing-making her fans proud by giving amazing concerts and not begging for votes. Just because carrie just open up as much doesn't make her any less down to earth. In fact, she's one of the most humble and genuine person perhaps even more than taylor. She doesn't get too close to her fans

@c4sweet, I favor Taylor bec she reminds me of a young Faith HIll, so sweet and adorable personality. I do like Carrie, just disagree with some things she has said. Country music has to be kinder to those above @40yrs, like Faith, Martina, Trisha. It was their time,@7-12yrs ago. Such a shame those older are 'cast aside', Faith was on top of Country Music, it was hard to see her be pushed aside like that. If it happened to her, it can happen to these gals also.

@Temple95 Carrie's picked up right where she left off.Her concerts have sold out too and she's been everywhere. Taylor's big in europe bc of her POP sucess. She's labeled as a pop artist internationally. Carrie not only has the vocals but her stage presence and talent exceeds taylor's in most areas. She has the whole package.if you know carrie or have been to her concerts lately you would know. She puts so much effort into it and She truly IS the entertainer.

@Temple95 She doesn't need all the stunts and props that taylor uses to bring attention away from her vocals but she still makes her show very very entertaining. she has the whole package. It's also part of the requirements that you should be able to sing-it's a given. carrie was robbed at the CMA and everyone knew that. You may like taylor better but please be fair too. Country music is coming back because of Carrie. She is what country music is all about. Her humility and talent is beyond

@Temple95 Carrie works as hard as taylor-maybe even more. Taylor wasn't even really that popular until the whole kanye incident. Carrie has raw talent that taylor can't even be compared with. She's not even in the same league as Carrie. Carrie has the respect from the music industry that taylor could only dream of. Do I hate taylor? no. I like her music but truth be told. Carrie has the whole package. If you still want to say taylor "deserved" it over carrie...well what can I say... lol :P

@c4sweet, To say Taylor Swift wasn't popular until Kanye incident is ridiculous. The girl appeared on Rolling Stone, her album given FIVE stars. She is The Top selling artist of the past TWO YEARS!! Taylor Loves writing, singing and performing, she does it for the fans, and they adore her for it. So what if Taylor's voice isn't powerful. That's not the only quality that counts. Vocal quality does, and she has that. Her voice just draws people in, so enjoyable to hear.

@DejaxBlue, Kanye West is a rap singer, he grabbed the mic from Taylor when she was about to thank her adoring fans for the award. She handled the incident with so much class. That is just one reason she is so loved by so many. People all over the music world came out to defend her, she has many friends in the music industry. With her personality and talent, it is not surprising.
